Total sleeper of a ride. A couple of days ago. I was on the freeway; saw a white one in the fast lane. A green eco-boost mustang got in front of it thinking it was a white Malibu. Well it wasn't. The white SS dropped a gear or two. And blasted off with a glorious v-8 rumble. Eco-boost didn't 👀 that coming.

The interior is my least favorite thing about my ss. Thank good that it drives so well. That's what makes the car special. V8 power, manual transmission and great handling its a match made in heaven. Love the as.

I think it's a dual-mode exhaust, but it's setup so that it opens a valve only when at a lot of throttle and higher in the rpm range, and when it's just normal driving the valve stays closed and it's quiet

“Demon or no car” is the username... but cackles and pops on the overrun would get annoying? 🤔 Not sure you’d like the Demon or Hellcat then, as I’m pretty sure those make all sorts of noise on decel and overrun. Anyway, the SS has multiple settings, and in “tour” mode it keeps the exhaust valves in the quiet position, which mostly eliminates that sound. I’ve had mine for a year and a half, the overrun noises haven’t gotten old yet. It crackles a few times on startup too, and I have an involuntary grin reflex every time I hit the starter button. Never gets old. 😉

Us Australians once built great V8's wouldn't u agree?. I will be honest why we don't anymore. This country in the last 30 years has become multicultural to the point that in the suburbs of the big city's there r 10% Australians remaining and a dying breed. Now this will offend many but it's fact. The immigrants that have moved here r soooo tight with there money( which is not a bad thing for them) that they only buy rubbish Toyota's and all asian manufacturer cars. This has had a huge affect on Holden and Ford to where we no longer make cars. People will say i am racist which i am not. I am just speaking the truth and it hurts them. I ask. In China India Japan etc would they let there population go down the same path as ours? Would they show the same kindness as we have? U make up your own mind. Enjoy yoyr V8 as one-day they will be worth a packet to those holding in to there history.

Just take a look around mate and you will see most families have shifted their family sedan to the family SUV.
