This one works best after Crossrail Core opens - whenever that is. Also note I am not a Londoner, so some of these interchanges might be dubious/a waste of time. King's X - Farringdon - Barbican - Moorgate (Met/H+C/Circle) (3/16) -> Crossrail platforms at Liverpool Street (walk) -> Custom House (Xrail) (4/16) -> Royal Victoria (DLR) (5/16) -> Dangleway (6/16) -> Canary Wharf (Jubilee) (7/16) -> walk to Heron Quay -> Lewisham (DLR) -> Mid-Kent Line to Elmers End -> Tramlink to East Croydon (8/18) -> train to Clapham Junction -> Overground to West Brompton (9/16) -> Earl's Court (District) (10/16) -> Green Park (Picc) (11/16) -> Oxford Circus (Vic) (12/16) -> Bank (Central) (13/16) -> Waterloo (W+C) (14/16) -> Embankment/Charing X (Northern) (15/16) -> Oxford Circus and FINISH (Bakerloo) (16/16)

so I have done som research. you can do a similar thing in Copenhagen where I come from, which will include (since CPH is smaller than London) 7 different s-trains (red commuter trains), 2 different underground lines (white trains) 3 different Ic trains, (regional, national and trains to Sweden) 5 different types of busses (a, c, e, s and regular busses) and finally 1 harbour bus-boat --------- a total of 18 rides - all of which should be possible to ride within the inner city! Gotta try this out in the near future!!

I was saving this, and it is brilliant! Glad I didn't have to wait for Part 2. I love the bits when you are both in the same station. I was looking to see if one team would bump into the other team. I'll echo the people who suggested doing the #16LinesChallenge against #AllTheStations, but would like to see you keep #16LinesTeamAndy and #16LinesTeamVictoria, so that there were three teams all trying to beat each other.

Could have perhaps used the waterloo and city line to go from bank to the jubilee line at Waterloo instead of London Bridge. Also I think the best option for the tram was taking fast trains to and from Wimbledon from Waterloo and taking the district at some other point for a stop or two in the city.

Good trip, I am surprised you guys didn’t use national rail a bit more the hispeed to Stratford int gets you out east in 7 mins. Plus the circular route from kings cross to Moorgate and back gets rid of 4 lines in quick succession. Lo is a really slow line so is there scope for cally road to cally road to Highbury
@XXamazing_editsxx4 жыл бұрын
So if you both started at King’s cross get the Piccadilly line to Caledonian Road get overground Caledonian Road barnsbuy get Victoria line to Euston then get circle or H&C to Great Portland Street then metropolitan to Finchley Road then jubilee to Baker Street than bakerloo to Charing Cross than national rail to London Bridge then jubilee to North Greenwich than cable car to royal Victoria then DLR to limehouse national rail to fenchurch Street then district to Mile End then central to bank W&C to Waterloo get national rail to Putney walk to Putney Bridge then district to Wimbledon then tram to dundonald road back to Wimbledon then national rail to Clapham junction then overground to West Brompton then district to Paddington then tfl rail to Ealing Broadway then central line to Oxford Circus.

Really enjoyed this pair of videos. Question. Do other cities with large subway systems (Moscow, Paris, Madrid, Seoul etc) have people doing such challenges or is this a London phenomenon?
@CallingAllStations7 жыл бұрын
Alan Mac I’ve heard of people doing Subway Challenges in New York. Not sure about the others but I imagine so. Barcelona would be a fun one to do, they’ve got a cable car and some funiculars as part of their network...
@OltonHall7 жыл бұрын
I so want to do a NYC one. I just need to find the people to participate some weekend.
@CallingAllStations7 жыл бұрын
OltonHall yes! Would love to see a NY take on this. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t recall a key on the subway map so assuming you’d be doing all numbered/lettered services (including 6 and 7 diamonds) plus airtrain and Staten Island railroad?
@OltonHall7 жыл бұрын
It would be all the numbers and letters. Diamonds are just the express version the regular trains so no difference there. I'd probably leave out SIRR as that is a massive 1 hour plus time killer just for one line. I would not bother with JFK airtrain strictly for cost reasons. Now that I think of it, that might make things interesting. I'd likely include PATH and have a requirement that teams must visit every Borough, except Staten Island, at some point. MTA NYCT does have a key of all the lines on the html version of the map.
@davidrivera97434 жыл бұрын
@@CallingAllStations yes. There are several variants I'd like to see in nyc: 1. The 22 lines of the nyc subway which have a unique station. 2. Add PATH, Staten Island Railway, Roosevelt Island tram, Airtrain to JFK to #1. 3. A Snake Challenge similar to the one suggested by the techandtrains101 folk.

I think its because she is more in a commuter mode of getting from A to B with minimal hassle which runs a little counter to this challenge where you need to to chop and change. She mentions it in the first video. Plus I think starting at Victoria makes going to Wimbledon to do the tram far more tempting but I think that is not the best choice time wise. You maybe pleased to know that Victoria does not lose in the video where Andy, Victoria and David race All The Stations Geoff Marshall Kings Cross/St Pancras to Stratford --- kzbin.info/www/bejne/mV6YXpapaN9mfKs
