Thanks for the video! I just bought a car and when switching from R to D the engine moves a lot! I suspect this mount. What’s the easiest way to tell? Does it move with the new mount as well, or only a little bit?

I’m wondering how common this is with a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. I’ve had so many issues with mine and never had this issue with previous owned new or used vehicles. Getting mine replaced now since I’ve has shaking in idle for over a year. Previous mechanics sent me home when it started and said it’s fine to keep driving it won’t hurt anything. Went somewhere new now that my warranty is up with where I purchased.

It's a normal repair any car that's front wheel drive will have this problem, now the pacifica is front wheel drive set up , and the engine does have good power so , depending on the driver this rear mount will be bad often.

Hello it was almost free movement when changing from p to d or d to r you could see the engine moving

just found this today, i have a 2017 and it clunks over every bump, i already changed struts, control arm, outer tie rods, and sway bar link, this is my next thought, did urs clunk over bumps b4 u changed it?

Well do the test ebrake on put into drive with foot on the brake and give it some quick gas just enough to see if the engine it's moving back towards the dash then do the same process but on reverse and see if the engine moves towards the radiator if this is the case then this mount it's bad, on the clunk over bumps I seen the center strut nut not torque down properly in a few cars already and it drive me crazy, if it's not torque properly it will clunk in any imperfection on the road try that as well see if that helps.

@danielhizer1228 glad I could help, but always check the main stut on the strut, but no don't have any other videos on this car the main one that goes out it's this one.

When you removed it. Which bolt did you remove first? Was it the bolt that secures the rear mount to the transmission mount bracket. Did you need to support anything when removing that bolt?

Hello no need to support anything, but if I was to do it again I'll start from the bolt that it taken out by the top with all of the extensions that's probably the hardest one to do apart from the undercarriage 150k bolts lol

Did you also replace the bracket that the front the mount attaches to? The rubber bushing in it looks damaged @3:31.

Yes it is damaged just a bit, but no one had it in stocks and no eta, that's why didn't replace it.

What flex socket did you use? The ones I used in the past broke! And do you use a power tool or arm strength to get the bolt off ? Asking for a friend

18mm and no power tool good all arms with a breaker bar tube lol 😆

I did change my 2018 pacifica rear mount bracket today. Does it need to use a jack to lift the bracket in order to install the bolt connects with mount? Mine has a big distance with the two parts.

You need to move the engine back to close the gap to put the bolts
