If you guys are having a service airbag light .. look under front and back seat you'll see a yellow plug on both driver & passenger side.. squeeze them a lil to make sure plug is all the way in , a total of 4 yellow plugs.. the connectors gets loose over time .. thank me later 😊

I had passenger side airbag light come on about 4 years ago, went Chrysler dealership check it out and said was wiring harness under passenger seat so dealer technician made light go out fine for few months came back on, so over 4 years I keep fixing wiring harness well just last week I could not fix it light kept coming on and stayed on. Took my 2016 Chrysler 200C AWD to dealership and I renewed my extended Mopar warranty to be cheaper pick $500 deductible but service desk got me down $380. But took 4 days get wiring harness in and got fixed, tech went to put bottom leather on seat zipper got torn, they are looking for new leather seat cannot find one anywhere using personal phones to find seat because of dealers being hacked. Well found entire assembly of seat (I did not get charged for seat replacement). Whole deal was my interior color is "Linen/Black" If leather was black or gray no problem. Linen

I have a 2015 Chrysler 200 and it has 335,000 miles with the original engine and original transmission. I do Uber and Lyft and this car is great for that. I absolutely love my Burgundy Beast. I haven't had any issues that your talking about. I've had mine for almost 5 years. This is a great vehicle but just like any vehicle you have to take care of it or you will be replacing the engine at 96,000 miles.....LOL

I currently have a 2016 Chrysler 200 and everything you said in this video is very much true. I have been going through hell with this car. First, it was the ticking and burning smell. Then it was the jerking and stuttering. Oh and don’t let me forget the oil gasket leak and replacing the house it sit in. Now it’s replacing the motor. But that’s not even the sad in frustrating part. The sad and frustrating part is knowing something is wrong and the dealership keeps sending you away telling you everything is ok, when it’s obviously not. ( all because your still under warranty) Soooooooooo with all that being said THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU … for getting on here and being honest about what’s happening and what to expect. Much appreciated.❤

omg I got a 15 200 and ive recently had the burning smell too, mechanic said its the head gasket seal or sumthn like that, getting it fixed next week, hopefully that'll fix it and it won't be the oil cooler. but ive also had that trans problem the guy was talking about where it well randomly not let me shift out of park, tried to take it to mechanic but the two times ive tried the check engine light goes off. he also said to change the trans oil but I thought these trans were sealed where you couldn't

What about your transmission when do you change the tranny oil from it? do you do the chemical flush trough a machine or do you drop the tranny pan from it to drain it and change the filter?

Oh and also when this man says avoid quick lube places, take that to heart. A couple months ago I had a Journey under my wrench that had cheap conventional oil in it. All of the oil pathways were plugged and one of the lifters seized which wrecked the rocker. The bearing on the lifter was half gone and took most of the cam lobe with it. It was a great day for me, not so much for the customer. Cleaning metal shavings out of an engine, and changing a camshaft isn’t cheap. Don’t cheap out on oil. It’s going to cost you a couple months of rent payments in the future.
@MichaelDavis-cy4ok
@MichaelDavis-cy4ok 2 жыл бұрын
Years ago I used to change oil at a Toyota dealership. The oil drain plug on one vehicle was a female Torx drive plug. A buddy of mine was changing the oil and had to fight to get the drain plug out. Some idiot at a quick lube place had used an impact wrench to install the drain plug! It was stripped out, and when it finally came out, the drain plug broke in half. Those places will hire any idiot off the street, give them almost no training, and just throw them at your car.

I work at the plant that makes the oil cooler. There are many problems with the build process. I have seen the aluminum "knock off" versions of these and they seem much better build quality and durability. However I did notice a slightly smaller opening for the water side of the cooler on the aluminum version.

I bought the 6 cylindar in 2017. It was a retired rental car. It was kind of a vanity purchase. I didn't really need a 3rd car, but I thought it would be handy. I didn't have a huge budget for this purchase, and I was sick of boring Toyotas. I was excited about how much I was getting for $10,000 and particulary that it was a 6 cylindar. I still love the car, and it's fun to drive. Within a few weeks I started getting a light for the passenger side airbag. I could reach under the seat and play with the wire harness and it would go out briefly. Asked about that and was told it's super expensive to fix. OK. Wouldn't think so, but I just left it as is. Main thing was this past winter I had to replace the intake and exhaust manifold. Car had 150,000 miles on it, very disproportionately highway miles. So that was disappointing. Still love the car though. It's like having a high maintainence girlfriend that brings great joy to your life.

Change my oil usually at 6000 too 6500 0,20w. Only thing I have changed is the front brake pads. That's it. She drives like a champ even in the mountains. I do Uber and Lyft and other side gigs and travel. Haven't had any of those problems. They should have fix the bugs and keep selling them. People still buying these cars. I've had my 2016 200 Limited with the 4 cylinder since new and just turned over 150,000 miles last week. I've had no major problems with it and it's been a good car. Lately the transmission will shift harshly maybe once or twice a month but it's not getting any worse so I'm not worried about it yet. I work 35 miles away so I drive 70 plus miles every weekday and get 30 mpg nearly every tank. It has been maintained exactly as shown in the owner's manual from day one and while it's no guarantee against problems it definitely decreases your odds of certain failers.

I have a 2006 Chrysler van with 247,000 miles. The engine is cast iron 3.3L (Damion) the tranny works fine: I did change the fluid & filter. I do have electrical problems though: the headlights sometimes won't turn off and sometimes turn themselves on when I'm away. I have to constantly jiggle the switch. The instrument cluster blinks when it's the coldest winter; and I think it came from the factory with the engine light on. I also have a little water leaking on the passenger side in the cab (not the heater coil): I think it's from an A\C drain hose that's too short to drain properly. But I drive easy; and it's a very dependable comfortable vehicle. I probably won't buy another one though. Thanks for a great video!

I bought my "2015 Chrysler 200 Limited" in 2020 with only 49,000miles. Fortunately I bought it from a certified dealership because 5mo's later at only 52,000miles the "Tigershark" engine BLEW! Thank god the Chrysler Corp. was willing to work with me on an extended warranty & replaced that engine with a new Mopar engine. I have had EVERY problem with my car that it is known for, the latest being the drivers seat heater no longer turns on, & a possible electrical short somewhere has caused the seat module to stop working so I can no longer raise/lower the seat or move the seat closer/farther from the pedals! I was drawn to the looks & comfort when I purchased this car not to mention desperate for some wheels after 13yrs of riding a bus but, HAD I KNOWN THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW, I WOULD NEVER HAV GIVEN THIS CAR A 2nd LOOK!

I keep up with tje maintenance of the car and tend to the little things it needs. As of this moment, the check engine light is on, mechanic says there is a problem with the alternator ( since the battery light has come on a few times ) and it has problems with the cam shaft crank shaft area as well. I don’t drive the car out of town anymore. The car still runs and has great gas mileage.

I own a 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited with a 4 cylinder. I bought it in 2021 and it had 123,000 miles on it and now has 158,000. I've kept up on the preventive maintenance. I've only had to change 1 engine mount and the LDP. Been an excellent car so far. The only issue I'm having now is the air bag light is on and my U connect radio keeps shutting off and can't connect my phone to it.

Have a 2015 s also, repced cooler twice.put a mopar cooler in that appeard to have viton o rings. I think that was issue from heat. ended up putting used engine because I didn't have time at work. Reason for replaced engine? Radiator cap was leaking pressure and ultimately caused gasket or head cracking.had no issues since. 160 k miles now.

Hi! I’ve had a 2015 Chrysler 2.4l for 7yrs now. Recently, when the front passenger door is opened or closed it starts beeping with “key fob not detected” or service keyless system! But i noticed it only happens when that door is opened… I then have too place the fob next to the button in order for it to start. Some time that doesn’t work. I do find it weird that, that door triggered whatever electrical issue we can’t seem to find!

If you have to place the key fob on the power button to turn it on, it must be the key fob battery that is no longer working, maybe that is also the source of the other problems.

I have the 2015 Chrysler 200 C AWD 3.6 liter V6. I have had to change the radiator, radiator housing, cap and hoses ( about $1500+ due to overheating and the upper hose dislodging off causing it to overheat again ) and now it shows a flashing check engine light ( nervous on what it could be and the cost to fix it ) . Currently waiting for tow as I write this. I have about 152k miles on it. It’s a fast car, great gas mileage and has been reliable.

Can I just say that I am a very comfortable person when it comes to fixing issues with many kinds of cars. I look up and research different DIY Mechanic channels. I have come across channels with techs who have no idea what they’re talking about & or do! They have no screen presence and zero personality! Alex my name is Chris and can I just say that I’m looking for a video for a specific problem with my friends 2015 9 spd AWD V6 , even though it wasn’t something that you covered in this video , I just want to take a moment to say that for 1 you got a new subscriber while watching this video. 2 you have a excellent screen presence and personality,funny and not afraid to correct yourself if you’re saying something and then you’re like “ wait I think that might be wrong”! I think it’s great that you are just being you, unlike some other channels that edit their content so it’s perfect and they look and sound perfect. What a lot of techs forgot is that behind the editing, Timelapse”s and other things that are done they make it look so easy which isn’t the case EVER! So I just wanted to compliment you on your channel and for having a great lighthearted attitude when doing it. I always think it’s important to tell people on YT if they’re doing something good and you absolutely should be proud for how you’ve developed your own style of videos. I enjoyed watching your channel today, keep up the good work! Chris K 😊

Halve "engine warming wait to start" message. The ideas on this are all over the board and since most car dealers technicians throw parts it's hard to get a beat on this issue. I don't have an electrical schematic for this vehicle and I don't know what the proper ohms at voltage signals are for the sensors on this vehicle. That being said it was mentioned about oil pressure sensors and coolant temperature sensors. On this vehicle there was a drain and fill done for the antifreeze. I don't know if you can purge air from these if they're not running I have a pressurized coolant tool yet to use it It works in conjunction with my air compressor any ideas Mr Alex?

Every car should be looked over pretty good at every oil change. That way you catch it anything early but today’s oil change places never really look over the vehicle thoroughly so you just have to find a good mechanic in your area.

Now, our power has been out since Wednesday because of the bad ice storm (and it's still out), and we have been staying at her Brother's house until the power comes back on (which should be tomorrow). It'll work at the grocery store, her job, and her Brother's house, but TWICE in a row it hasn't work at her home. What could be the issue? Cant be as simple as a bad battery, right?

Thank you for the informational video. I've been a Lexus technician since 1998, and with Nissan 5 years earlier. My youngest sister has the 200 Pentastar, and she's regularly having me check it out for her. In fact I'm stopping by her place after work because it stalled on her. She said she smelled a "chemical" type smell coming through the vents so she turned off the AC. Shortly after that all the warming lights lit up like a Christmas tree on the combination meter. My first thought was "Great, electrical problem". I had told her to buy a Honda or Toyota, exactly like you mentioned in the video, and then she gets this Chrysler! Ugh Hopefully it's just the alternator. Fingers crossed. Thanks again. Appreciate the time you took to put this video together.

Tiger shark 2.4L engine has a tendency to suck oil into the intake if you don't monitor the PCV for correct operation. The thing stuck at 52k miles and we weren't aware of it till the engine wouldn't crank. Called the dealership and the service advisor told me to check the oil level and sure as shyr it was definitely low after having an olu change 1500 miles prior. The 9 speed transmission in those are horrible and have a high failure rate. Oh yeah there is a TSB on the oil consumption in all tiger shark 2.4 engines from that period

Lifetime usually means the “lifetime” of the vehicle. For some that could be 150k miles or 200-250k depending on the owner, driving habits, and honestly the build quality of the car. And for most transmissions.. I would swap trans fluid and filters every 50-75k.

I have a 2017 and had the oil cooler problem. Ignition problem with the plugs. I did myself and was stupid because you have to take off the intake manifold to get to them. And your supposed to change gaskets eveytime you pull it off. And it ticks now, so I'm pretty sure lifter/ lifters are bad, and I'm worried about the camshaft. The body of this car is nice, but I wish i knew more about the rest before i bought it brand new. Pretty much everything he said I've had to deal with. Transmission is a little touchy also, but if you don't drive like Ricky Bobby, it isn't noticeable. Constantly having to fix something on it that is a problem to get to or cost allot.
