Took one of these to a customer few years ago. Really comfy and relaxing on a long motorway journey. Impressive budget car.

We drive exactly the same car. Big fun to drive! By the way....Renault was and still is the best engine builder in Europe. The Tce 90 engine is a beauty! If you only look at the chosen timing chain construction you know for sure VW and BMW can learn from the French.

I'm thinking of one of these as a cheap reliable comfy workhorse to replace a Subaru that costs a fortune to maintain.

Good work, well done! Is the 1.5 dci stepway much noisier than the tce? I am in a dilemma buying tce or dci.
@RoadFanatic
@RoadFanatic 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your compliment :). I don't know if the dci is noisier, we don't have the dci option here in Holland. We can only get the Sandero with the tce engine.
@LIONtib
@LIONtib 6 жыл бұрын
The dci will inevitably be slightly noisier, you should buy it only if you do lots and lots of km and need the best fuel economy, or if you need it for low rev torque. It's a matter of preference, really.

It's pretty good actually. Sure, the car is basic but actually it's not bad at all. I think the Dacia is a great way to drive a new car for a low price. Besides that, it's drives way better than it's predecessor, so Dacia is making some great steps.

Hello. Is this car good for just driving from point A to point B ?
@RoadFanatic
@RoadFanatic 7 жыл бұрын
Yeas, it's a great car for that. Sure, the car is a bit basic, but it's also one of the cheapest ways to drive a new car. Besides the 1.2 turbo engine is a delight :).
@mysteriousghat5792
@mysteriousghat5792 7 жыл бұрын
Are You sure of it or European version is different? Here 0,9L 90HP is 3 cylinder with turbo while 1.2L 75HP is 4 cylinder without turbo. I'm actually thinking about that 1.2 4 cylinder variant. 4Cyl will propably live longer and definitely generate much less engine noise at higher RPM's. @Edit; of course due to non-turbo variant, it'll be cheaper to maintain in a long term
@RoadFanatic
@RoadFanatic 7 жыл бұрын
I apologize, I indeed meant the 0.9 three cylinder engine. I think the 1.2 will be the most reliable, as it is an 'old' engine, but the 0.9 has a bit more power. You should drive both versions if you have the opportunity and based on that test drives you can decide what engine is best for you :)

Hi mate, I just discovered your channel cause I'm looking into buying a 2nd car cause my wife's and my jobs demand 2 cars. I basically need a small city runner with occassional longer trips and am looking into i10, new up! and the sandero. I'm leaning towards the sandero on paper, I have yet to test drive them all, but sandero would give me a couple of options like the satnav for less money than basic up or i10. However, I will be driving my kid to daycare with this, so I am a bit worried about safety. We currently have a 2004 kalos and 2012 c4. Kalos is the one that's gonna be replaced, so sandero is a big step forwards obviously, but I plan on running it into the ground so that means living with it for 12-15 years possibly. Would you say this is safe enough to trust it with driving a kid in a small town type traffic? Would appreciate a quick reply cause I'm getting into buying something really soon.

@@kostantis i10 with the 1.25 87 bhp engine. Have not regreted it once, we've had it for just over 2 years, so no problems with it, but it's a joy to drive on open roads for a small hatch
@kostantis
@kostantis 4 жыл бұрын
@@filips989 Oh nice man! One of my friends has this great little car. I liked how the leg room was enough for me both in the front and back seats(1,90 cm), although its such a tiny car. Its size also is a must for a big city like athens where i live because finding a parking space is hard. Nice choice in overall. My question is though how did you get to choose it from the other 2 cars. What did you dislike on the sandero.
@filips989

@@kostantis I live outside a small town (population ca. 10.000) so mostly I've been driving it on open road from my house to work (10 min drive). It's got a perfectly sized engine so enough power is always present for overtaking, but it's still a small hatch. We did not need a small car, but a 2nd car so we were looking at the small city hatch market. I gave up on the sandero because all the dealerships near me had only the diesel available for a test drive. Since I was buying a petrol, I crossed it off the list. I ended up testing the 2018 up! and 2018 i10. For me, up! was bland and boring. Seemed flimsy compared to the i10. I didn't care much for the sounds inside the car during the test drive. i10 was different, it's 1.25 but it's a 4 cylinder so it sounds better (personal preference), hyundai puts a little 'sports' exhaust on the 1.25 so that also helps. Apart from the wheel arches, the cabin is pretty well noise insulated. Basically, my first impression which still lasts after more than 2 years is that it's a small car that tries very much to be big. Regarding space, definitely a roomy little car. My daughter complaints about my parents' mazda cx-3, but is perfectly happy in the i10
@kostantis
@kostantis 4 жыл бұрын
@@filips989 Thanks for the response! Personally i would prefer the mazda as well but these two cars i10 and cx3 are build for different causes and fulfill different needs. The i10 is small quick and propably needs less petrol. Its a must for the city. In addition to that it is really affordable so it makes it a good choice for a second car. Now your daughter maybe right . This car has space but its still a tiny car so its not that comfortable as the mazda .
