This vehicle is still hopelessly outdated (the steering wheel and instrument gauges are straight out of 2010), but I have to admit that FCA still makes some of the sharpest wheels in the auto industry. Dodge and Chrysler especially have some beautiful wheel options from which to choose.

The Journey wasn't a good vehicle when it came out. Me and my dad had one as a rental in July 2009, about a year and a half after it came out. Uncomfortable seats, cheap plastic, and rattles on a vehicle that had just been built 4 months earlier. I was only 16 and knew it was a piece of junk. Compared to the 2008 Toyota Highlander we had as a rental on the same trip a year earlier, it was night and day. How Dodge still sells this body style 10 years later is beyond me. I test drove a 2015 Dart on March 23 this year and it felt quite a bit better quality, but still a good step or two below my 2011 Honda Accord. June 2, 2019 3:13 pm

There are few weak points that need to take care of, transmission needs to change oil better before 60,000 miles, coolant may contain some sand from cylinder casting, oh the front brake rotor. Overall is a good car, I put my 30,000 miles during 1.5 years with a used one. Driving is decent, fuel economy is also good on the highway.

I do think that the journey could use a refresh, not because it looks outdated, but just because it's been the same for so long. The journey is my favourite crossover and the only thing I would change is the headlights. I think the reason why it hasn't been refreshed is because dodge is going with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Yes If you are at a window of the building and the car is within 300 feet then it can be remote started. We used to start the cars while sitting at our desk at the dealership in the winter time. The Dodge key is amazing how far it can go.

I started with the 2010 base model, then in 2015 moved to the SXT and I now also have the 2017 Crossroad. But this one has more stuff than mine. I'm jealous. I don't have the heated seats. or the remote start. Too bad for 2020 they have now dropped it from the Dodge lineup. It is the best crossover SUV when you consider its starting price. Especially to have 3 rows. Even though it is technically a small truck, it has more of a car feel which is what I like about crossovers. I hate they are dropping it. I only have just over 24k miles on mine, so I expect it to last quite awhile. Almost done paying for it. I can't wait for that, because I'm not buying another car unless this one dies a horrible death. My dealer was trying to buy it back and stick me in a Durango SXT. I don't want a full size SUV.

So everything I've read has stated a keyless entry and uconnect on the 2017 crossroad trim should have remote start. I have a fob that lacks that option. Does that mean I dont have remote start. I can't find a straight answer to verify that it does or not.

I have a dodge journey 2017, my battery is weak and i realized its placed behind the front driver side wheel, way under the hood. I have to jack up the car and remove the front wheel and the splash casings just to get to the battery. The battery also has very tight space to replace so that will be another challenge. Poor design and stupid engineering from dodge, especially for something like battery which is an essential thing for regular checks. Checked couple of auto shops and they quoted me $150 +tax for replacing battery.

They had at first., but they killed it for me the further you go back., the less the leg room. also no auto electric set's so when driving., it no hassle to adjust the seats with so much pressure to do it in motion. & they should of just added an opt for front wheel to all wheel or 4x4 for today's world. I mean for the price I rather get those missing mentions that is in the Nissan Armada's or Infiniti QX56's w/ DVD changer & more rear room. But good quality video & perfect info though :)
