Thanks for a great review, I'm thinking of getting the 950 but can't help feeling I'll be getting second best by not taking the 1200s. I have been off bikes for 12 years an feel that the 1200 might be too much for me to handle, but am worried that I will be missing out on all that great electronic stuff. 🤔

A Japanese competitor with features and substance so closely related to this would be the V-Strom 1000. Powerful breaks, great suspension, IMU (for ABS but not TC), 2-level TC + off, same fuel capacity, about 11 pounds heavier, more torque, tad less power, better off-paved tire sizes (110/80 front and 150/70 rear), and bulletproof reliability and long/inexpensive service intervals.

Yeah, I guess it comes down to "build quality" and "pinache". I've got a Versys now and like it just fine, but it's parts just aren't as high end as other models out there.

The Ducati website lists wheelie control as one of the features on this motorcycle. Are you sure this doesn't have wheelie control ?
@RiderMagazine7 жыл бұрын
There is no wheelie control on the Multistrada 950...it doesn't have a multi-axis inertial measurement unit like the 1200. Of course, it does have traction control, which will prevent wheelies depending upon the set level. If you could please send us a link to the page online where it says that the 950 has wheelie control, we'll get in touch with Ducati. Thank you!

Saw your comment today and checked ducati website to find out its not listed anymore. Maybe it was a mistake by them which was corrected. Anyways great review and a great bike too which can really be a jack of all trades.

Looking for a mid weight Touring bike after looking at other brands I think I found my perfect bike this 950 is sexy light and fun

My #1 question is, when blasting a freeway (70-80mph) what's the vibration/wind like? My Versys 650 just gets old after an hour at 70. I don't plan on spending too much time on the freeways (love smaller roads), but sometimes you gotta pay the piper.

Chris Shockley i have the 650 versys too and i am on my way to change to the multistrada 950. I commute almost at highways so I understand your question. I did 200km on the highway the other day and felt exactly the same as you. The stability on this bike is also way better.

Chris what year Versys are you coming from? Have you considered upgrading the wind shield? I am comparing both these bikes too with the addition of the FJ09 in the mix. Seems multistrada checks ALL the boxes and then some, but at a price of course.

drewmorg the versys was a 2016 but it’s still the same until a new edition comes out. My multistrada is a 2017 and I have to say it’s a great bike. You can do pretty much everything and handles great, fuel consumption it’s even better than the versys.
