Very nice video but no coolant seen in the reservoir. Hope you checked for that.

You don't need to take the cowl off, to change plugs and coils on a 2.0. Just created yourself extra work.

I like to do that sometimes! 😏

I have the same exact issue with the exact vehicle. I’ve changed plugs as you did and it corrected the issue for a while at least. Was your fix a final one?

how many miles on this car ?
@shermanbird3248 Жыл бұрын
Service info says to warm up engine to tepid in order to ease the process of replacing the plugs. Their warning is to prevent thread damage to the head threads.

Good to know. 👍

😊I have the same year and model 2017 and my engine light went on and has been on last 4 days after we went up to my daughter’s for thanksgiving and the engine light went on after my bf put his foot to accelerate the gas petal…when going up the mountains seems it does this when this happens not sure what the problem is..hoping it went off like before but not… There’s also a recall on these SUV’s hopefully they will tell me what’s wrong…

Not sure if you meant "to temp" or actually "to tepid". But it's best to wait about an hour after a cars been running, at very least 30 minutes, before changing spark plugs because the head and spark plugs are made from different materials and expand and contract at different temperatures. Never, ever change spark plugs at running temperature, that is the easiest way to ensure you'll a damage the threads or even snap off a plug. And that scary squeak noise we heard in this video? I would not continue trying to take those out, rather do a tiny turn to tighten, then back to loosen, and repeat when you hear another squeak until you no longer hear it squeak at all while removing them.

@@markkeating3609, it’s scary and what if the threats was damaged then what we could do ?

What was the mileage at when it first came on?

Good video, I was wondering if your daughter noticed a difference when driving her car after the spark plug change. She should of noticed more power as old as those plugs were.
@TheHunterGatherer2 жыл бұрын
It ran a lot better for sure. She said she noticed a difference.

Ok, so what’s the follow up. Did the test show no more misfires?

Initial followup is no more misfires.

Just wondering , that motor has an issue pretty much cooling getting into the cylinders, and it happens with low miles cars.. wondering if thats part of ur issue .. check ur cooling reservoir ... is probably low.. hope not tho.. but is an usual issue with that car til 2019...

Do you have to recalibrate the windshield wipers when you put them back?
@markkeating3609 Жыл бұрын
If you wiggle them off the spline straight up no, but if you are worried you can put a piece of masking or painting tape on windshield under each wiper then with a pencil or sharpie mark the sides of the wiper on the tape before removing the wiper arms. Then when you put them back on the splines you'll see if they are off. I would also add if you have a shop vac, that while you have the cowl off use you vac on reverse to blow out all the tiny debri that accumulates in the screens where water is supposed to drain from the cowls. 👍

After a few days, is it running well?

You had all the labor to take it apart...splurge for 3 more coil packs for $60 like you did for 4 plugs!
@Okxage Жыл бұрын
I would get rid of that car you definitely have coolant intrusion the motors for these things are not good and the price to replace your short block is not cheap everyone else who has a misfire issue it’s definitely coolant intrusion don’t let the ford dealers jerk your around and have you pay for a bunch of repairs that don’t really fix the problem there’s a service bulletin for this issue
@TheHunterGatherer Жыл бұрын
She no longer has the Fusion. You're right. Ford should've made this right with everyone!
@InprocessalwaysАй бұрын
That’s what I had thought in the beginning also but I’ve had misfire codes on all 4 cylinders at different times. Cylinders seem dry and coolant reservoir holds pressure over several days so it shouldn’t affect the plug that much. It could be though. Unfortunately for me Ford was replacing the engine for coolant protrusion at no cost but it ended a few months before I purchased it. ☹️
