Biught a 17 escape in dec from a dealership fee days sfter getting it blowing smoke drinking oil crazy . Sent it to local ford dealership they said timing snd turbo. Dealership where i bought it. Took it to there shop replsced the turbo saif it was good . Now it sluggish no power on hiway i set cruise ti 110 km an hour and itll surge frim 2000 to 3000 rpm. I drive 140 kms home oil pressure lighy starts flashing check oil and stick is bone dry. Before it went to ford cruise kickrd off wouldn't go fastrr then 20 km a hour. Smoking from motor dip stick hole lol then when i limoed home it wouldn't start again but before turbo was replaced there was no loss of power or surging. I dont get how i used sll the oil driving 138 kms from the shop. Any advice on what im dealing with. I want the dealer to change me into something else im rebuilding credit from a divirce and there claiming switching me could lose my approval. Keep in mind im oaying 42 grand on a 18000 suv which eould be worth it ti rebuild my credit if days into owning it it didnt beeak down lol

Hey buddy I have a 2017 ford escape ecoboost se. Im having this problem where my vehicle shakes violently when im at a complete stop in drive or reverse while my foot is on the brake. Only in gear at a complete stop this happens. Doesn't happen in neutral or park. Only in drive or reverse but once I take my foot off the brake and get going it goes away like nothing happened. Also when I am starting the engine after night it cranks anout 1.5-2 sec before start (before mpg increase it was starting much faster). My car got 26k miles.

1 More question sir because it's obvious you are a Ford Tech and know what's going on. I have a 2019 Explorer Sport that we love. I installed a JLT oil separator on it when it was new because of those issues. The one thing I would like to know about it, and youtube has me concerned, is should I change the PTU oil? I have 23k on it right now. It's our trip vehicle and I want to keep it good as new if I can. Do you think that the PTU's need an oil change or do you think it is over magnified by just a few failures? Or is it a "REAL" problem that I should be concerned about and definitely change that oil? The codes keep saying shift solenoid I changed that then I ended up changing the whole valve body still doing the same and I'm also getting oil under my throttle body. Help me please?

My 2017 Escape has always seemed under powered. But after I changed the spark plugs yesterday (they badly needed it), it's very hard to start and has almost no pickup on the road. I double checked my coil connections and all are fine. I'm getting engine code P0001, fuel volume regulator control circuit. Is that related at all to this vacuum solenoid?

@@FordBossMe I have a similar problem. Rough idle and the occasional misfire + bad fuel efficiency and underpowered. My 2017 1.5 had terrible plugs in it at 76,000 miles. Replaced with properly gapped iridium plugs, no improvement. Replaced all 4 coil boots, fresh dielectric grease and plugged it all in and it seemed like it got better for a day. Hit the freeway this morning and lost power at 70mph, dropped to about 50mph. engine light flashed a few times, went solid, then off. Took it to the autozone for a code read but nothing stored.

I replaced this same part and noticed oil coming from one of the vacuum lines. I pulled the hose off where it connects to the engine and found a check valve that was damaged or corroded. The hose I'm talking about is the hose touching the back of your middle finger at 1:07 on this video. The check valve is behind the silver screw left of your middle finger. I can't find a name for that part. Will you share what that is?

The vacuum solenoid for the wastegate is actually down there on the turbo itself and then there's a secondary some people like to change up on top of the valve cover as well sometimes

I had a 2014 2.0 Fusion, it ran well, got 200k out of it doing Uber for over 2 years in it, but i had check engine light on for like forever. They throw codes for any vacuum issues and that larger motor goes through fuel and could use better injectors and downpipe cat converters. That downpipe I had to replace twice which was the most money I spent on that car, final straw was when I was told I had to replace the fuel injectors to get the codes off and I didn't want to spend the money on a car with 200k, so I got this Escape and now my issue is the 1.5 feeling super slow.

That's a great video sir and I'm sure will help a lot of people. I have a 2019 Escape with the 1.5L engine and love it!!! My only complaint is when it comes to passing power. Going 50mph behind a logging truck on a 2 lane road, which happens quite often to me in Georgia. Is there a way to get just a 30 second burst out of these engines? To get quickly around, which is the safest way, to say overtake a tractor trailer or whatever? I don't think for a second that these engines are running on the ragged edge of boost in normal WOT conditions. If that was so, you would be changing them all the time. Any advice is appreciated sir and again thank you for the video!!

@@JetTech1966 Cold air intake from Steeda will help. Get an Oil Catch can as well. And open the exhaust more. You'll get about a 30hp gain.

You pretty much got to test for resistance through it and make sure it's got power and ground if everything checks out but the resistance is bad you got a bad solenoid

I'm sure you will never see this comment, but I have this EXACT same issue with my Car. It threw a P0299 code, and ever since then my car has run like crap. The dealership couldn't get it to pull the code as I used a Bluetooth OBD2 device to reset the light. And it never popped another code since, but the problem still exists. Thank you for this Video. Well if you type in the part number at the 1 minute 18 second marker in the video you'll see it's just listed as hose assembly but the solenoid comes on it It is a turbo boost control solenoid

Call up the dealership use your VIN number and ask them for the appropriate part number it could have been updated since then that's your job and responsibility as the owner of that vehicle to understand that things change over time and that part number can be updated so you asked them which one I need and what's the part number and they will tell you

Before replacing i was hitting/reaching speed 142 mph easily , after replacing it roughly hit 125 mph , it's like underpowered on higher speeds

@@omarmahdy6931 I don't know what to tell you about that I've never driven that fast and I don't recommend anybody driving that fast I can't answer why the speed is reduced I know whenever you build these engines you have to reset the keep alive memory and you have to reset the fuel tables and then it has to relearn the driver Style

sometimes the valves can be to loose and will reduce power and to tight will cause misfiring I didn't know these little shitbox 1.5 L could go that fast and I don't think they will stay together very long if you consistently go that fast

Red lining the rpm on the power test was not smart. The head gasket is too thin between the cylinders. Driving the engine hard at high rpms will increase the stress and pressure eventually will blow a hole through that thin gasket. I have a 2017 escape 2.0L ecoboost with 200,000 miles runs like new. I never rev past 3000 rpm. Oil change every 5000 miles.
