Good to know about this outside sensor. The other day we had no choice, but to travel carefully through flooded streets. Glad it didn't swamp this sensor. We have owned one of every style escape and my favorite was the second generation. Thanks! 😊🐶🐕

Interesting video. Are the outside temperature sensor connectors weatherpacks? Back when I was in high school our shop teacher brought in a 1950s Hudson Hornet. On the heater control panel it said "weather control". This car was so big that you probably could control the weather with it. 🤣🤣

Yes the connectors do have a weather seal in them. But where it's located driver front lower corner of the grille it goes through some elements. Over time it fails. Easy fix. Back up and running. Happy customer.

What if each time you start your car it resets to negative 5 (-5celcius) and after 1.5min drive it goes to normal? Checked all connections including wiring and all good. Could it be software malfunction? AAT when plugging computer diagnostics shows correct temp😢

It reads by voltage. The only software would be in the APIM module. You can ask your dealer if there is an update. I've never looked to see if it drops down to a certain temp then comes up to normal.

No. If it's reading inaccurate then it needs a sensor. There is no reset for it until a new one is out in then you "calibrate" like I did in this video

I start my car and it says 75° then as I drive the temp on dash just goes up and up and up. Stops @115°. Put a new sensor in from car quest and no change. Put a new sensor in from ford no change. Ohmed all 3 sensors and they’re all in within spec. Tested for power and ground at connector and that’s good. Looks like I got a good one on my hands here lol any recommendations

@@Triokrucils3 so -40c is also -40f. I don't think it's -40 outside. If it thinks that then the ac won't come on. That could very well be your problem. I would check that sensor.

@@BeardedFordTech i Try new sensor buat still negatif -40 °C, compressor still not working...maybe problem at magnetic clutch or problem pcm modul ..thank's..output voltage at soket terminal hunting from 0.7 V-1.2 V DC

@@Triokrucils3 did you drive it to reset it? It doesn't reset by just putting a new one in. Does your ac system have a leak. Thay will cause the compressor not to come on if it's low on freon.

It should be a code & check engine light... Can't remember the code for it tho

Not always a code. This one didn't have one. Was just showing inaccurate temp

More than likely a bad sensor or wiring to the sensor. Easy to swap out if it is the sensor. . Then go for a little drive. Are there any codes present?

Here is a video that shows you where it's located. Unfortunately this person went a very long time without changing oil. Wore a hold in the bucket the high pressure pump sits on which sits on the exhaust camshaft. Lots of sludge buildup too. She ended up having to get an engine.
