@johnjoseph5501 you just explained why yourself. You have a nissan frontier. My Truck has al.kst 60k miles. Still going original starter. Nissan starters are weak to behind with. Everything on those vehicles is junk. They are worse than GM and Ram so you are speaking foolishness right there just by saying that. You had a starter go ba I'm assuming. Look at all the other trucks same year make and model of yours still going with original starter. Every think maybe the one they put on it to begin with wasn't bhult very well. Like the cvt transmission they are known for. Some are okay and don't have problems. Some are junk. But nobody knows about the good ones. So no. They don't go within a short period. Do a little more research next time.

Almost!! Hot shot truck. All highway miles. Oil changed every 5 thousand until it hit 400k then every 3k. Always used motorcraft filters and fluids. Rotella a time or 20.. deleted dpf at an early age after warranty was kaput. I tell everyone that servicing is the life blood of your engine. The way I see it and always have is there's no difference between a human body and an engine. You keep up your health you live a long life. If you eat like crap and not take care of yourself you check out early. I also think that mechanics are just like doctors. Being a mechanic is actually harder! There's only one human body with the same organs in the same place. How many different engines out there we need to learn how to diagnose and repair. I love my trucks and can't wait to finish building the new engine. I'm taking a 2022 crank, rods, pistons, camshaft and putting it into a 2012 block with 2012 heads upgraded valve train of course. 2015 turbo. I haven't found anyone yet that's talked about it.

Oh sorry to answer your question... I believe the bridge breaking caused one cylinder to not open and close valves properly so the build up of compression without an escape hatch (exhaust valves) and unburnt fuel caused a running hydro lock. I'll post pictures on my site. The hole is the size of a Dodge Ball..!!

It's NOT blown out of proportion, you admit yourself that this has been an ONGOING PROBLEM THAT IS NOTHING NEW. That means it's been a longstanding problem. My 2017 F150 does the SAME thing but is NOT under recall. So yeah, it's not ALL 500,000 trucks , but there's also trucks that are NOT under the recall that have the same issue. Take the company's word that it EXPECTS only 1% to need the recall that has ZERO basis in fact. It was a press release, they're not going to say the PCM is shit in all these trucks. So you and the company state it's blown out of proportion, but reality is its been a longstanding and ongoing problem that they have addressed as SLOWLY as possible
@BeardedFordTech
@BeardedFordTech 12 сағат бұрын
Somebody is mad. You obviously have no idea how a recall works. As far as your 2017. Is yours built earlier or later? Cause the later ones have the 10 speed. And I have not once come across a 15-17 that does any kind of weird shifting. Unless it's someone who doesn't maintain it. I'm guessing you never had the fluid and filter done at 60k? It really is blown out of proportion. If even only have need a pcm update. That's what the media does is scare people. I mean it's not that big of a deal the way they word it. And it looks like it got to you. You fell for the fear mongering. We did 11-13 and it wasn't a recall then either. It was a tsb. I actually owned two of them. I said ongoing problem nothing new because everyone knows about this. Thays also why you don't see 11-13 in there. They added the 14. You know why? When was 2014? 10 yrs ago. This is so they don't have to put it under the 10yr 150,000 mile warranty. They tell you that on the news? Probably not. Do us all a favor. Turn the TV off for a while. Close Facebook for a while. Go outside. Get some fresh air and breathe. Oh. And have a good day.

Putting DEF into the fuel tank is a lame way to do this. I'm a pro. I NEVER drain my water-separator. My truck runs entirely on water now! Seriously, I simply only open one cap at a time, do what I need there, close that cap, then open the other. I would kick myself in the tail for years if I mixed this up. @vessmech yes they are pinned now. So rollinging isn't really a concern. It can still happen cause the bucket can turn slightly and after many miles.doing that it flattens the pin and it turns. Not a huge problem. That's more down the road. I would still look into getting a DCR though. Cause even when changing the filters and such and air gets in there. Those initial cranks are metal to metal. No fuel in the cp4. It wears it down.

The main goal in this recall is to get the calibration updated to prevent the 1st gear default when there is a sensor malfunction inside the transmission in which all F150s 2011-2014 were programmed the same when built.
