I’m trading in my 2017 Focus SE for an 18 sel escape, I don’t know why I didn’t buy an escape before. It drove so nice and on the test drive I reset the gas mileage and I got 34 mpg!

I bought a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium AWD 2.0 turbo Eco-Boost. Great power and torque. Also it still has a CD player. I have a huge collection of CD's. I just love the Sport mode, handling fold down back seats for cargo, front seats are awesome too. Mine has the slide back top for that Convertible feel. Here's what I don't like! Gas mileage sucks, Water Intrusion in cylinder number 3. Had to get a new 2020 engine that Ford bought with extended warranty at 28,000 miles. What a pain in my ass! Ford should be put out of business for not backing there buyers. Plastic shift unit that breaks and leaves you stranded. Head light bulbs that go out. But, You can't get to them to change your self. Carbon build up on piston rings do to high pressure injection. No way to clean back of valves. When carbon builds up on them. Every 40,000 miles. Plastic panels underneath Escape to take off before you can change oil and the filter. Plastic,Plastic and more plastic. Every where inside and out. Front crash sensor you have to take off the front bumper cover is put on with plastic. If you roll the top back. The wind noise when you put the sliding top back. Makes buffing noise. Unless you crack a window. The tires and brakes from the factory are crap! I put Michelin Cross Climate 2's with a more aggressive tread to get it to stop and handle like AWD Should! Ford this Small SUV could have been the best in the World and put you back on the map! But you put profit before your customers 🤔. Why? Shawn

scotty kilmer, mechanic, says fuel keeps the fuel pump cool when its submerged and an empty tank, it cant cool off as well and kills its lifespan.

Right. I've heard that as well. I would just be afraid of running out of fuel, to be honest.

Scotty is right, but fuel systems are different for each car. Manufacturers are making fuel pumps upside-down in the fuel tank. Rather than sucking the fuel upwards, it sucks downwards so there is constant lubrication. Scotty has been a mechanic for 45+ years, but there have been changes made to cars and not every car is made the same. So he doesnt have any room to talk on behave of all cars.

Kellan Larson knowing which cars have a ideal design of some sort isnt easy to know. i bet most cars have the fuel pump on top of the tank as usual. better to stay on the safe side and keep it topped up. for those that own their cars anyway. renters/leasers probably dont.

There 4WD so given the right tires, Probably really well.

They do okay. The stock tires on the Titanium are fairly low profile, geared toward touring, so they tend to lose traction in the snow. The Escape system can send up to 100% of torque to either axle, but they're both open differentials. If you put on better tires, it is a solid performer. Its major limit is a fairly low ground clearance at 7.8". It's better than RAV-4 with 6.1", Hyundai Tucson with 6.4", Kia Sportage with 6.8" and the Nissan Rogue at 7.6", but the Honda CR-V comes in at 8.5" and the Subarus (Outback and Forester) are 8.7".

Wow... There's NO room under the hood for anything else.. Still a nice vehicle though.. Next size up from this is the Explorer, then the Transit.. Wheelbase seems comparable to my '01 Cavalier.. The AWD is a nice feature for hilly places in the winter.

Oh yes it is...!!! It's 245hp with 275lbs torque. And can tow 3500 pounds...!!! I'd say that's DAMN DAMN strong for a smallish suv. I've never wanted for more power in my 2018 2.0L Titanium Escape.

It does not matter. This car has a turbo and is faster than most V6’s. Bubs you do not know, you just wanna tell your cool friends you have a V6. You Probably do not know the difference.

transversely, MAYBE, but it is in the compact SUV range, and since golf bags are about 3-4 feet in length INCLUDING clubs, they may be a little tricky to fit in front to back.

This car is quiet but in a way that is kind of depressing. All you hear is your lackadaisical hands smoothing sliding across the steering wheels foe leather. I can imagine a mid to late 30 year old man on on his way home to his ungrateful kids and nagging wife after getting chewed up at work by his toupee wearing boss all because that bastard Tim across the hall couldn't get his report in on time which made you look bad so know you have to go home and explain to your irrational wife how you will be working late the rest of the week to gain points with the boss all as you think to yourself while driving over a tall overpass "If I just jerk this wheel to the right it'll all be over"... The Ford escape.
