I came across this video, as I am here sitting at home waiting for my 2012 Honda Accord Coupe V6 to be back from the repair shop. I am sitting at 156k miles, and I must say I love the car. This is my first V6 car as well - I bought it was 27,000 miles at a fair price. I am currently getting the timing belt replaced, as it was well overdue. I also just ran into the first problem with the ABS module. Not sure if anyone else has had the issue with their Honda, but my car is getting a new module this week. These are my first major investments into the car. Everything to this point has been new tires, oil changes, brakes (the expected stuff with cars). I have to say I am very happy that I went 156k miles without spending a lot in repairs. I have every intention on driving my car 250,000 miles minimum. I paid the car off June of last year, and I freakin love it. I put 15% tints on my car, took the front license plate off for a cleaner look, and got high end speakers installed all in the car, and got Apple CarPlay installed. The 2012 version had a very dated look to it, with all the million buttons it had. Love the 6.2 inch display of CarPlay I had installed. Honestly makes the car feel like a 2015-2016, instead of a 2012. The 3.5 L V6 engine is amazing. I do have to say I agree with you on the paddle shifters not being responsive enough. Nonetheless, I have a strong feeling that my 2012 accord will go down as one of my favorite cars I will ever own.

I bought a beautiful blue 2017 EX-L Coupe V6 for the very reason you just stated - the 2018 design is nice, but it lost that Accord sport look and now just looks like all the other sedans out there. 2018 2.0 liter turbo sounds like an expensive engine to maintain in the future with all the caveats of any turbo induced motor. It may be faster than the 2017 V-6 by a couple seconds on the track, but consider all the things that can (and usually do) go wrong with turbocharged engines if not cared for specifically to spec. The V-6 is a well rounded and reliable engine. Keep your turbos, less engine volume, and hype because when the 2.0 liter turbos begin to lose favor, the 2017 V-6 will still be running strong.

Sounds awesome with that Borla exhaust and resonator upgrade! Definitely agree on the glossy black finish, it looks decent but becomes a dust magnet and it also scratches easily. If you end up redoing the wrap, hydro dipping might also be an alternative worth considering. I don't know much about it, but I think it can be done in either glossy or "matte" style finishes.

Best car I've owned yet! I had a 2000 accord coupe v6, a 2010 accord coupe v6, and now a 2017 accord coupe v6 touring. This thing is underrated lol Love the power!! Honda claims 278HP, but buddy of mine dynoed his and it was more like 290HP! Also love the looks of the car. Wish I got it in the color you have, mine is black so it gets dirty soon after washing it haha Honda really knew what they were doing when they redesigned this 9th gen. Honda sensing is great, love the LKAS, ACC, & LaneWatch camera!!! I also noticed the shifting you talked about. I thought there was something wrong with the car, but that’s just becasue it’s essentially an automated manual with clutch packs and torque converter. Not a true automatic like the 10th gen accord 2.0T.

I do really like the color of that car, dodge has something kinda similar that i almost got but i love my white challenger, best car i have owned and ive owned 3 vehicles. My mazda was okay and did drive well put 15k miles on it traded it in on the challenger. 185HP was nice but that wasnt that much. The challenger i have has 335hp slightly above average for a pentastar from the factory. Which feels epic. Really fast and responsive and good sound. big ol v6. It is also sequential port injection meaning that you get more power right upfront compared to a direct injection. I have to say that the engine puts out a lot of power, and just feels great. I also really love the 8 speed transmission in my challenger, its the same one thats used in a lot of italian and german sports cars. It shifts sort of rough though you can deff notice it while driving and when I drive in sport mode it feels different enough that passengers notice it. I have to say that i get good gas mileage, it performs well and i can punch it when i want and get going. I have to say that challengers get a lot of attention i cant stop anywhere without someone saying something. Heck even the people at my local bank came out to look at it. Yeah a v8 exists but meh, not for 12-14mpg lol. When you live in california a v6 is a better option simple as that. $3.85 a gallon average gas price.

I currently own a mustang 2.3T, I love it, love its look and feel of the car. I’ve owned mine for almost 2 years now and it’s never bothered me to have to pump premium since its turbo AND it requires it to make the 310 hp Ford rated, my 0-60 on premium is 5.5-5.8 with weather 75 F and below, so it’s good. However I’d like to go back to not having to use premium for performance and am considering a automatic coupe accord, they look great in white. What are you 0-60s with the auto? Is it consistent? Does it handle corners good? This is my first RWD and cornering is so much fun and feels better than FWD. have you upgraded to summer tires? I feel higher horsepower cars might do best with stickier tires, at least with RWD.
@accordinglyryan5 жыл бұрын
I mean see for yourself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGOzmpZ6od5smq8 The performance doesn't really change, except I did notice a small difference in very high altitude when I was in Arizona/New Mexico. But that could have also been because it was full of a lot of luggage at the time (was on a road trip lol). I'm now on coilovers and yes it handles very well. Stock it's not as firm of course but it's still not a poor handling car. As far as the tires go nah I'm sticking with all seasons due to how much I drive. Summer tires wouldn't last me a year. Honestly I think you'll like it vs an Ecoboost Stang, though I have never driven one (only 5.0s which are a different class of car lol)
@M4B21S885 жыл бұрын
@@accordinglyryan nice, I timed your 0-60 at 6-6.1 secs (takes off at around 3.6-3.7 sec and reaches 60 at 9.7sec). I know the manuals get it in around 5.7-5.8 but I am looking for auto. NA cars struggle at elevation and turbo cars struggle with heat, thats why you took a hit on your trip.... I really like the accord coupe, its a sexy looking car that runs well on regular gas and I hear honda has good reliability which is a plus. Id have to go test drive one before tho cuz after owning a rwd IDK if I can do FWD again lol I don't see many v6 accord overall out there most are the I4 / sport badge, which let me tell you those guys try too hard lol and can never keep up...anyway. The only time I HATE my ecoboost is during hot days lol other than that performs very well on 93 and takes corners and curves very well so it will be a hard decision when I have to eventually move on lol

Yeah and that was completely stock too. You can use Ktuner to improve the speed of shifting with the automatic, and there are a lot of bolt on mods available for the V6. Bought a 2017 EX-L V6 Coupe in Blue/Black leather in August of 2017. 13,500 miles as of May 2019 and only three oil changes with Castrol Syntec. The car is perfect, as most Hondas are. I drove a 5.0 liter Ford Mustang for ten years prior and the Honda is faster with two less pistons. $450 monthly car payments on a new Honda Accord will always be less expensive than $450 monthly car payments on a Ford, Chevy, GMC, or any American made car because American made cars are garbage throw-away cars that break down before your auto loan is ever paid off! Furthermore, American made car dealerships replace broken parts with parts that are 12 months away from breaking. I drove American made cars for two decades and have to say this in response: Never ever will I buy another shitty American car - Fuck That. Fuck Ford especially! Shittiest cars that fool you with sleek lines and great exhaust notes ... The classic Mustangs were good, but the new ones are total shit. I’ll never go back to buying American cars because it’s a racket - They make shitty cars and then rape the owners at the dealership repair shop while selling you garbage grade replacement parts that are marked up in price ten-fold. I got off that carrousel of a financial black hole that sucks money every year .. if you own an American car, try test driving a Honda, you’ll be delighted. The car is amazing. Honda replacement parts are quality. You only live once - don’t drive an American made car.

Hey Ryan, I have a 17 Accord V6 Coupe, and I'm looking for a rear defuser that looks as good as yours. Any chance you have a link to where you got it from?
Do you know anybody has swapped the grille out on there 16 coupe? I’m not able to find a black replacement anywhere. Only able to find them for the sedan model. Any response would be great. Thank you
@accordinglyryan5 жыл бұрын
Probably better to just wrap it man. There isn't a factory or aftermarket grill option to my knowledge, only for sedans like you said.
@Amazed_You5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Gehret how difficult do you think that would be? My worst case option was just to plasti dip it but I’ll have to look into wrapping it
@accordinglyryan5 жыл бұрын
@@Amazed_You Could just pay someone to do it lol. Plastidip could work too I guess, just won't be as glossy

where did you get the resonator? i’m trying to find one for my 8th gen accord coupe
Awesome, Thanks! Also one of the best mods I've done to my car is the Rv6 J-pipe. with the k-tuner and this mod will really help the low end power.

Ryan Gehret my buddy probably shipped it. That whole area is called College Hills because it’s built right next to the college of Wooster. College Hills is the only one in the immediate area not owned by the same family. Wooster Chevrolet, Dodge, Chrysler, Toyota, it’s all the same family. Pallotta and College Hills are the only ones left that aren’t taken over by corporate greed. Yet...

Maybe a little, but it's the Honda Factory Performance suspension so it's about as OEM-feeling as you can get. Didn't lower it much though (only 0.6"-0.8") which I'm kinda meh about.

Ryan Gehret you wouldn’t happen to have the part # ? I want the same exact one for my 17 Accord
I got them from Grafixpressions but they don't seem to be selling them anymore. However, what you can do to ensure you get 100% legit emblems is go to your local dealer and order the ones for the FK8 Type R. They fit the Accord from what I've heard. The cheaper option is eBay, but a lot of them are fakes and may degrade over a few years time.
@achosenvessel65635 жыл бұрын
I got one and i feel ripped off. I got a fully loaded accord and you can't even close the Windows with the key remote. You can open them but not close them back with the key remote......does that make sense for a fully loaded model? I paid too much for this car.
@accordinglyryan5 жыл бұрын
I have literally not once ever used that feature. Who cares?
@DJTrump475 жыл бұрын
you should've checked that feature before buying this car, "fully loaded" means that it has all the available features for that particular car
