2017 Kawasaki kLX 150BF VS KLX 250 S VS KLX 450 R Quick Review

About Kawasaki KLX 150 BF. I know from personal experience that KLX 150 BF is a very well made bike at a very realistic price. This is not a bike that will rip your arms off with crazy pull and performance. But it will do whatever you throw at it, and will do it well. I bought mine brand new and I did a hell of a good job running it in, I've done 2500 klms, during which I changed the engine oil 4 times for a sure running in job, and the performance is improving as it's still running in. If you purchase a brand new one, then keep in mind that during the first few hundred klms, engine will be very new and tight, it will take over 2500 and more for the it to free itself, and speed and performance will be so much better and fuel consumption will improve after 2500 klms and more. . On motorway I can keep up speed with all vehicles without problem, and off the road I've had no issues, other than heaps of fun. I maintain my bike perfectly well and it performs beautifully and lovely to look at. Just the only thing, I had to extend the mirror arms , because all I could see behind me were my elbows, I have solved this problem by mounting the mirrors on extended brackets . I like my KLX 150 BF very much.

Is the KLX450 produced jointly with Suzuki as well? I know they were in joint production with the DRZ400s for a while. I was weird seeing what was essentially a DRZ but in Lime Green Colours. You guys are some nice bikes down under. I remember seeing the CR500e bikes brand new for sale in Australia in the shops years ago.

Would be great if they sold the 450 in thailand where im based... but they dont. I have a klx250 modified to 330 and aftermarket ecu and bunch of other customization. Ita pretty powerful and capable now :) (in Stock form its very un exciting and gutless... so anyone buying it def buy it and mod it immediately )

Hi Jack White, I think Australia is the only place in the world who still sells the KLX450, It is due for a bit of an upgrade but the price is $4k under the WR450 so still good value.Thanks for watching.

man I love both bikes but really want the 250 only problem is im 5'-4" my 2012 z1000 is shorter than these dual sports my structure limits me to kawi & susuki Im to small for honda & yamaha....point is im an experienced rider and want the larger engine but looks like I will have to adjust the front forks and rear any thoughts...

um.. you said that its in between the 140 and 250 but the 150bf seat height is 34.2inches something and the 250 is 34.8inchs something so in my opinion only is that there is no difference and you can put shit on the 250 to make it go better!

Yep Mittsy they are close but if i had said the same height i am sure someone would have said " there is 20mm difference between the 150-250". The 150 seat is also a bit slimmer that helps with the legs going straight down which also helps with reaching the ground. hanks for watching and also commenting,Enjoy.

Im trying to decide on something to get on and take my kids out on their little fun bikes. Ive never had a dirt bike just roadies but being 5'6 Im pretty limited to what I can sit on and touch the ground would the 150bf have enough power to carry a 70kg adult around some trails or should I just go for the 250?

I use to have the 150bf. I'm 5'9 60kg and it went like a dream, my dad use to ride it a bit and hes 80 kg. The bikes a tractor, don't expect speed but expect it to never fail on ya. I pushed it through some bloody mad hill climbs and through rocky mountains and nothing fazed it. The WR450 was too big for most of the hill climbs and the KLX just flew straight past. I couldn't recommended one enough but there isn't much aftermarket parts in Australia so I ordered a pipe from Indonesia once I learned to ride better.
