This one is right up my alley! Just what I've been waiting for! My choice is the SX trim with front-wheel drive. I think I'll be treating myself for my birthday this August! :-)

Absolutely this is enough of a change from the 2015 Sportage. The influence of porsche is a welcome addition to the Kia design language. I am seriously looking at this as my next vehicle. I have driven dozens of cars and crossovers this last year. My favorite was the X3, but the cost and BMWs reliability and cost of service has put me off. I will be curious to see if you feel Kia has created a poor man's X3/Q5 for us middle class folks.

I have seen this new Kia on quiet a few Motor Channels lately, and actually find it bold, assertive, and rugged looking. I think Kia's new designs, are becoming more European in flavour. Love the Tiger Nose/Snout Grill, does this Kia Sportage look Porsche like in someways to anyone else? Yeah, I might be losing it, but I quiet like where Kia Design is going. I'm an old codger now, so maybe my ideas in car design could be regressing to my youthful unrestrained past...I don't know. But I understand, many older citizens, hark back to a time when they were younger. As I now like more vibrant colours, that in my middle age, I would Never Have Considered.

I haven't really decided whether I like the looks or not, especially the front end. Overall though, the Sportage looks to be a nice package. I really like what they did with the interior. USA here.

I'm English and live in Italy with my Mrs(Italian), looking over my shoulder she likes the looks and my father in-law drives the Nissan Qashqai, we like the Fiat 500x, what I'm trying to say is it is a viable option to put in the mix and I'm sure it will sell well over here.

Most automakers only make incremental design changes if a car is selling well. I think Kia did enough here. Especially considering all the engineering changes.

The front if the car looks so disproportionate, and there's just something off about that grill. But it's a pretty nice car for a family with younger kids I guess.

I think the new design is fantastic, just like all the other recent Kia designs. Didn't the lead designer come over from BMW? If so, it makes sense why these cars are looking so good. I'd rather have this crossover than the X1 or the GLA, because loaded it would be at least 10 grand less or more.

Our choice is down to a $55K Volvo XC90 with more cargo room and space or this in SX trim at $35K with likely better handling and a smaller feel. The operating/ownership costs will be about $3,000/year less with the Kia. It's a testament to their engineers and designers that it's in the running. Don't give a damn about brand image.

Definitely is not a full new model design but it looks refreshed. I have one of the past version in it still drives very good. Now i buy a 2016 sorento and damn that's a real total package bro...

Yes, plenty enough change. This looks like an attractive, main-stream, and potent vehicle with a pleasing interior. I'd also think that the interior design was a trickle-down from the Cadenza first, and then the Optima.

I have no interest in crossovers, but the exterior design of this one isn't half bad. It looks a bit like the pudgy, Asian, baby brother to the Macan.

I am a current owner of a 2014 Sportage SX and i will be going out this weekend and getting the 2017. I love the 2014 but there is little things in the '17 that draw me to it. Besides the new safety features the main one is the cup holders in the '17 will actually hold my coffee cup and not be tipping all over the place lol. Another thing that really bothered me with the '14 is i bought the "Luxury" that came with the Infinity sound system. I work at a body shop and after somebody opened their door into mine i had to repair it. After removing the door panel i discover that it has Hyundai speakers in it which means it could only be tuned by Infinity so really you are paying for stock crap speakers. My Scion had a Pioneer system that actually had Pioneer speakers in it so its pretty lame that a car that literally costs twice as much came with crap. I also like that it now comes with an electronic parking brake, I could never get my dealer to tighten my parking brake on the '14 to how i like it. In my opinion it should only click like 3 times to engage a brake. Not travel all the way to the floor and still have some roll when i park on a hill. Not overly excited about having less horsepower in the '17 but i do sometimes feel like the 259 horses in the '14 was a bit more than that little vehicle should handle lol. Great video though

Hi motoman. Need driving BMW Audi and other euro cars. I was pleasantly delighted by the Sportage. Bought it as it's quite different from the lot. Love the led tail lights and front look. Somewhat polarizing for some, but I dig the sophisticated look. Got the turbo with all the options and loving it. Your review was spot on and honest. Thank you. Rick from New Jersey

I am looking forward to trying the UK spec diesel, although I'd find it hard to go back to a regular ICE car after the Outlander PHEV. The big question for me as always is how easy it will be to get a wheelchair and two dogs in the car.

I remember when Mercedes came out with their rounded car designs,with those bug eye headlights. At first I disliked the design,then it grew on me. Then everyone else copied Mercedes. I think this has that potential. The look is growing on me,and I have not seen it in the flesh. Time will tell, but in my opinion,it is not ugly.

I'm on the used car market for a 30000$ suv, 2014 kia sorento sx fully loaded vs snatafe 2.0 turbo almost w/o panoramic sun roof. What's are you thoughts one theses 2. No edge because too expensive. No gmc terrain/equinox too much plastic and no panoramic roof.No outlander or journey look crap. Thx

+Paul Edmond You really can't go wrong with either the Sorrento or the Santa Fe . . . It really comes down to which design you prefer. Yes, there are others but it sounds like you have gone through the list . . . that said, I would seriously consider the CX5 if you can do a two row or wait for the CX9 if you need a three row . . .

+MotoManTV Thx for taking the time to answer my question. I can't go over 30000$ because my wife and i will be buying a house in the near near future(budget). CX-9 i saw the interior and i'm sold but it'll be a 1st gen= fingers cross. My choice would be the turbo charged engine, form what i read, they 're not that reliable. Again that cx-9 is a killer. Don't you think it look like a down play Infinity QX50? CX-5 too small. I'm driving a 2006 ford escape XLT v6 for the past 6 yrs, i definitely need more space. Thx again.

CX5 has a loud cabin as compared to the KIA Sportage. They also don't have half the features for the money.

What kind of helicopters? I always thought Peter's first car at Kia was the previous gen Forte ... As a former owner, I feel cheated lol.... Nah just kidding. I've watched both parts to this reviews and some others and none tell me about the safety tech. Does this have Adaptive cruise control? No mention of auto braking or rear cross traffic detection. No view of the rear camera and demo of parking assist. Maybe less talking about adhesive and more demos. Does this have adaptive cruise control and will I ever know?

+MotoManTV I've a number of videos but none mention most of the safety features. The Kia website does mention Autonomous braking, Lane departure and blind spot warning and some other features but even Kia says nothing about adaptive cruise control. This is great feature to have in mountain driving. I guess I will go for a test drive at some point and find out then. Thanks.
