2017 Kymco K Pipe 1300 MI Service and Mods Part 1

With your experience with this kymco bike, what do you think of the quality ? I know honda engines are very reliable and well built. But I heard that I should consider kymco , because they are a Taiwanese brand and NOT a crap chinese company

How did you change the oil?

Use a 17mm wrench on the drain plug on the bottom of the motor. Depending if your engine is still being broken in then may want to remove the right side clutch cover to remove the oil screen and clean it as well make sure you get a new crush washer for the drain plug and a new gasket for the clutch cover just in case. Let me know if you need more details.

And make sure you replace the oil you drained with a fresh quart of oil.

Why don't they have the turn signal in those turnsignal pods on the side? like they do in EU and other countries?

fvogelsang I am unsure. I like to assume it has to do with regulations or keeping the cost low.

Not legal in the U.S., but I'm not sure the exact reason

Do you know how to take off the fake lights on the side?

Agustin Ortiz I actually just did it today you have to remove the two screws in the front on the front facing gills then remove the seat and undo the four bolt hold the rear body as well the large faux carbon fiber side pieces just pull off easy reveling two bolts take those off on each side you have to then carfuly pop out the side under the front of the body and take off the whole tank covering at once with the rear plastics attached be careful the plastic will scratch and crack easy after you have the plastics off the bike it's simple to remove the plastics you don't want only way I could find to do it.
