I own one. And it's a great car. It's fun car to drive. Good on gas , comfortable seats, nice size trunk. And a great reliable car.

I would go for the V6. Not only is the performance better than the turbo-4, but the V6 sounds much better when pushing it. Also, the throttle in the turbo-4 feels a little laggy compared to the naturally aspirated V6. I agree that the RWD is the way to go too; you sacrifice a lot when getting the AWD. SoCal resident's opinion.

Wish I can go rwd. Can’t do that in New England.

Live in California(as you know) and for this particular Lexus, I'd choose the 4 cylinder turbo because the tuner in me would get a software flash done once the warranty is up and it would be head and shoulders quicker than the 350. Plus, that rear bias weight distribution FTW! I still like the Audi A5 2.0T in this segment. The only pony car that captivates me is the Mustang GT350R.

If I remember some vids of JP performance in Germany, the software of those new lexies are really closed designs, you will not be able to reflash them, or do more harm than good. Whatever, you could probably have little gains with the intake and the exhaust lines, this all accompaigned by a weight tune, the serial wheels are known to be on the heavy side,and I believe in your country, carbon or compound hoods are a legal thing.

I just recently bought the RC350 F Sport AWD. I chose it for these reasons. The 6cyl should likely see a far longer service life provided maintenance is performed properly. The weight of the vehicle vs the stress of the engine in low rpm torque range = shorter overall engine life for the 4cyl turbo. The NA 3.5L V6 will not see the same cylinder pressures of the 4cyl turbo which also should result in a longer engine life. The V6 if driven properly will largely outperform the 4cyl turbo. The 3.5L V6 has been a long running engine for Lexus/ Toyota (well over 10 years and beyond). So it has all of the quirks and big design issues resolved and has proven to be a reliable motor with high longevity. Yes the fuel economy of the 6cyl is less than the 4cyl turbo but not by much and that depends more on the driver than the design differences between the two. I also chose AWD because for the small added weight, the benefits are substantial when talking pure ability to launch/ accelerate/ pull out of corners in any road condition. This one is a no brainer if it's a daily driver. I've squeezed 28 to 30 mpg out of my RC 350 AWD on the highway. Sure I have to focus my driving on fuel economy to do it but it CAN do it if you know the car well enough to maximize it. This also applies to performance. If you know and understand the vehicles power band and stay in it while in Sport+ mode (i shift it manually to maximize this) this car is a FAR better performer than most of the reviewers give it credit for. I just got rid of an EVO (2014) and got my Lexus RC 350 F Sport AWD. I'm easily happy with the move. The RC 350 F Sport AWD is very equal to my old EVO overall in performance (stock for stock). While the EVO felt more nimble during driving, i found that i could corner faster in the RC just from pure rigidness of the RC frame there is no flex in the RC. It's the most rigid vehicle frame I've ever owned. It feels like you can't go as quick do to the extra weight feel, but PUSH it.... it CAN do it with ease. It's more capable than people realize.

At 37, married w/ 2 kids in SoCal, if were in the market for a new vehicle, top priority is how luxurious the interior is, second is gas mileage.

V6 all the way. I'm in the states (west coast). Reason? Test drove this exact car and felt underwhelmed by the power. Turbo lag was significant and high end pull was lacking. The weight didn't help either.

10:57 : In Switzerland I would choose the Lexus RC200t, that is taxed with 950$ a year. The RCF goes up to 1'660$. Whatever, it can change from a Canton (state) to the other, because tax system can vary from state to state. Geneva would ask more than 2'400 bucks a year, just for having the right to use a RCF on the road. Yearly insurance of the RCF is more costly than the one of the 200t. A decent amount of protection will cost you around 820$ for a 200t and 1'200 for the RCF. So for tax reasons, I would probably go for the 200t... probably. Because NA 8 cylinders are a dying breed. And I know, if I ever want to grab one in my life, it's now or never. Also, the RCF will have a steady value over time, and will, also, have a collector value ; like all well maintained gt's of a certain era.

I would take the 428/430 or C300 instead of this, they are a lot faster and more economical and also better looking. I don't understand why Lexus makes sports coupe so heavy to the point defeating the point of having a sports coupe.

It's the only engine offered on RC in China besides RC F. Tax on this one is 12%, and 25% on the 350 engine model if there is. I would choose RC 350, It's just is sized car for this sized engine.

Hello is the 2017 rc 200t the same as the rc 200t f sport as the rc 200 f sport? How would I know how many cylinders? My son sold us the car for $24000 with 30,000 miles. Car its loaded. Also trying to buy tires and this shop told me it has staggered tires whatever that means. He wants $1500 for 4 tires?? They did not see car I just called them. The front tires have this number 235/40R19 96y. And the rear tires are 265/35R19 94y. I been looking for these tires online and they are cheaper but its confusing when I type numbers in. Can u guys help me?

by the way...I have a question for you mr.MotoMan..if you allow.. WILL KOREAN CARS (AND EVEN CHINESE CARS) EVER GET BETTER THAN GERMAN CARS? I mean..they are investing lots of money on tehnology and design(latest they hired designer of Bugatti Chiron and so on..) Will they ever catch up??Even in USA you are already getting luxury KIAs and HYUNDAIs..plus Genesis ..Maybe you shoud review one on these and let us know the difference(apart from price)..I would love to hear your opinion on this.. Many thanks,I love your reviews, and keep those big wheels turning!!;)

vukasin seferovic the speed the Chinese are moving and with the majority of higher I end mercs and Maybach's going to China, I can see them really targeting that segment. I think some higher end Hyundai's in the uk I think the i40 is very merc like already, it's massive and very nice inside in their top specs,. Give them a gen or two and they will be there. You could argue with the price defence, if you take a i40 top end and match it with the equivalent priced merc or BMW, you could say they have surpassed them already. It's just badge snobbery keeping the Germans cars inflated.

That I prefere the V6 is irrelevant. Everywhere outside of the USA, the requirements for low emission engines are raising. Actually, a builder will have to pay millions to could continue to sell large motorized cars. And in short, major European cities will start to ban heavy consuming engines from their centers. The German car builders already are in the dooh dooh, because they made the mistake to provide in a flamboyant stupid manner, the overmotorized SUV drug to their customers. Now they are facing huge difficulties for their future.

@StephenButlerOne8 жыл бұрын
Got to admit MM whatever filter /light balance your using in the opening feature mins makes your skin tone look like the tin man from the wizard of oz. That car comes with electronic in/egress seats, with are painfully slow and would be a deal breaker, no matter how good the car. This is coming from a man with a Coupé with manual (poor me lol) seats, that are painful enough to use. That car is slow for its price also, and not getting any love from UK reviewers. Also i think the overall interior looks old schools Japanese, which in the 90s looked like it was from the 22nd C now it looks dated.

Musinka Oshay I don't know where you are looking but if you go on car gurus and search RCF and look nationwide and you will see them at the prices I said. I just got off there. $72,000 is for a brand new 2017 and that's sticker not the price the dealer sells them for. I went to bayridge Lexus Friday and they offered me a brand new 2017 that was sitting in the showroom never driver for $65,000 cash or finance. The sticker listed at $74,000 but no dealer sells them for that unless there is a sucker that doesn't know the game.
