2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E300 UNBOXING Review - More Advanced Than A BMW Or Audi?

Welcome to our latest unboxing review where you're about to experience the all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300, the most advanced and intelligent car the German automaker claims it ever built. After spending time with it we're inclined to believe them. Power comes courtesy from a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission, power is sent to the rear wheels, although all-wheel drive is optional.
From the outside, the new E300 looks like a shrunken S-Class and we're not at all complaining. It's both elegant and sporty. Step inside, however, and you'll understand just how far Mercedes has pushed technology and design. Without question this is one of the best interiors we've ever seen. With its black leather upholstery and brown ash wood trim, being inside of the E300 is an absolute delight. But perhaps we were most impressed with its many new and advanced technologies. I upgraded from my 14 e to the 17 e. Had her a few weeks now , tech is over the top , there's actually a phone charger in the center front console , just lay the phone in there and charges , love that . I'm getting used to the 4 cylinder , all my Es were heavier and stronger , turbo gives it enough but not muscle . Mines black on black and I use dark blue led interior , very cool. Thanks, George. Yeah, I'm sure the 2017 E300 takes some getting used but, in the end, I think it's totally worth it. It's such an awesome car.

Couple of things to clarify about your review: the E300 you reviewed in your video does not have the 2nd 12.3" LCD screen, which is an option. I have it on my 2017 E300 and it's one gigantic piece of glass for both screens. The car you reviewed has the standard instrument cluster. Also, the car you reviewed does not have the panoramic sunroof - it has has the standard sunroof. The panoramic sunroof has a second, smaller, non-adjustable glass panel above the rear seat, and it has a large power sunshade that covers both glass panels. Otherwise a great, informative review.

The Sport large emblem grille does not do the E class any justice. The luxury grille with the Mercedes Star bonnet greatly improves the front look. As for the interior, flawless and is much more beautiful than the competition and not overdone. Unfortunately, now almost in 2019 the reliability ratings appear to have tanked compared to its previous E class models which actually rated high in that department. Wonder what went wrong with this generation.

I'm constantly stuck between high quality video with no description of what I'm looking at, or good info but horrible angles of the car. You have a good combo of the two. Good stuff.

What is the branded thing in the cup holder at 8 minutes 30? It looks like a very short cup, or is it some kind of receptacle to use the space when there's no cup in there? I have a 2017 W213 and don't like having a cup there, as the flap is up and open and spoils the flow of the console!

I test drove the Volvo S-90 and at first glance it was a beautiful car. In fact it's the best looking car but then we test drove it and found it to be quiet the let down with loud cabin noise, not the ride you would expect for a car costing $67,000. We were extremely disappointed in the car and its overall performance. It just seemed cheaply built. That's just our opinion....The E-Class drove like a luxury car and handled better on the road. The Infiniti Q-70 and the Audi A-6 is our next test drive. We drove the new Mazda 6 Grand Touring and I have to tell you for the money it has been the best car for the buck so far. Understand money is not an issue that makes us lean towards the Mazda but the car performs and the new interior is amazing.

Nice car but really expensive compared to some of the competition. The only thing I love which some of the competition need to embrace quickly r the two lcd screens, the Lexus ES needs to have this as standard going forward, I guess they are waiting to launch this with the new Ls next year first. All that technology u mentioned is in most of the competition and Benz adds the gimmicky overtaking feature with signalling which is only practicable on a free way or express way with little traffic or few cars on the road. What I don't get is Bmw pioneered this I drive rotary dial system and everyone copied it really. Now bmw has gone back to touch screen and the rest are still on this really slow and only usable system when parked or idle. The touch pads on the steering is good but isn't adequate compared to having access of the entire infotainment via a touch screen. Everyone needs to follow Bmw's suit and go back to touch screens. It's still the best way to communicate with the system by far. That's the reason I love the new F Pace especially the larger touch screen available in that car. Two lcd screens with the infotainment system being a touch screen. That's the way to go in my opinion henceforth.

Exactly! The competition needs to add those dual LCD screens ASAP. Interesting that you mention that everyone should follow BMWs lead regarding touchscreen. If history repeats itself, this will likely end up happening.

The equipment packaging is atrocious on this car...leather is optional (requires additional packages), safety tech and fancy self-driving features requires a hefty $11K package, heated/vented seats is optional on top of the highest package, widescreen instrument cluster is another option on top of the highest package. A car that'll be almost $70K with a turbo-4?! Come on...

I believe for 2018 Mercedes is making a number of upgrades to the E-Class and I wouldn't be surprised if trim packages will also receive some reforms, based on what you're pointing out.

This gen E-class looks like a Kia or Hyundai. The w212 pre-facelift is the best looking of the lot in terms of exterior appearance. W212 facelift is 2nd - more sporty and young. I would take the GLCs over this gen. E-class.

Not a bad car, but the design seems meh, like the c class this is trying to hard to become one with the s class design. The rear 3rd quarter view looks so awkward imo. Don't get me wrong Mercedes does have extremely good quality interiors, but they're lacking in design. I also prefer the new Audi design language compared to the new Mercedes design.

I really do not like the looks of this E class from from the front and hood area. Looks like they couldnt figure out how to finish it so punted and looks bad, I would consider a E class except for that.
