2017 Mercedes Benz E Class Parking Pilot and Remote Parking

Remote parking with the smartphone app. Parking can be a nightmare when the vehicle alongside has parked so tight that it is impossible to open the door of your own car. A common occurrence in car parks where space is at a premium. Also some garages are so narrow that getting in and out of the car can be a real chore and cause scratching of the paintwork. Mercedes-Benz has the solution to these unfortunate situations: a remote-control system for moving into and out of parking spaces, available for the first time. It’s called the Remote Parking Pilot, and is controlled from outside the vehicle by smartphone via Bluetooth.

Is this standard feature (I have the E220d AMG Line 4Matic 2017)??? I’ve downloaded the Mercedes Parking App (iOS), but can’t get it to connect to vehicle using Bluetooth in the App (though can connect to music etc between car and Phone using Bluetooth just fine)??? Please advise!

Hello Amir, you have to ensure that you have the most updated blu tooth in your phone. I had a Sony Xperia which linked to everything else but not parking. Replaced it with the cheapest iphone (Android are available) which was newer and on the list provided by merc and it has worked a treat

I believe you need the 360 degree parking cameras, otherwise the car cannot see any side obstructions etc.

Anthony Serlin No you don’t, mine doesn’t have the 360 degree camera option but it can park into spaces automatically. So it can do it remotely.
