I drove it during 1 week rental. Very spacious and comfortable. However, it feels too big to drive in most places. It was especially uncomfortable in the snow clogged HOV lane in Boston. It tries to hog up almost the whole width of the lane. Visibility is excellent and the seats are very comfortable. It is a thirsty beast. RWD is awful in the snow. It was plated in Georgia. I was Very HAPPY to get back my own 2017 Highlander Hybrid after driving this.

The interior looks almost exactly the same as my QX80 minus the Nissan/Infiniti badges and the stitching on the seats. I love the Nissan patrol and I wanted one for many years but the only way you can get one here in Canada is to get a close and related cousin: the Infiniti QX80. That is what I drive everyday and have a Q50S Red sport 400 on days I feel like driving a smaller vehicle.

This is QX80 for 20k less, its new for Nissan in NA market...but it is not a new design. Infotainment system is years behind competition ( old design), instrument cluster is also not worthy of 2017MY. Engine more powerful, however torque of old Armada was nearly identical at lower RPM range (more user friendly). No cylinder deactivation technology that GM uses on their pushrods engines. I'm surprised how little improvement was made in fuel economy after adding two more gears to a gearbox! Over all it's nice improvement over old car, unfortunately five years to late! ( my two cents , owner of qx80 and supremely reliable 08 qx56 )

Definitely the best value in the segment. But thing is, either people don't quite use 3rd row will opt for Tahoe etc, or those who heavily rely on 3rd row/love the absolute largest car available will go for the Suburban. Sitting in between could be a good thing but also might make yourself a dilemma.

$44-45k for a base Nissan Armada, no thanks! I just don't see the 6k increase. I want to see how much of a discount the dealership will offer. It's a nice SUV but knowing Nissan/Infiniti don't hold their value as much, I'll just wait or look elsewhere. Nice Review as always, Alex!

It seems a bit odd that Nissan decided to bring this in 2017 since the QX56 was here 7 years ago and let’s face it this s very slightly decontented QX56/80. I would assume the QX80 would be redesigned soon so you are really getting an old platform. Having said that if they had brought this a few years ago I may have gotten it. I have driven the QX56 and liked it just not the price tag.

@rahulrane16586 жыл бұрын
Hello Alex, Though this is longer than the older Armada, it seems smaller inside, with regards to both cargo and passenger volume. I sat in both vehicles side by side at the dealership. 2nd and 3rd rows are more cramped than the older model. Would you know why is that?
@bobsmith96035 жыл бұрын
Rahul Rane I realized that too from my first generation QX56 that it had much more room in the 3rd row seats.. The latest QX80 doesn’t even have as much much room at all in the 3rd row..

@rogermetzger73358 жыл бұрын
If I suddenly had millions to spend on new vehicles, I almost certainly wouldn't spend more than $39,000 on any one vehicle. That having been said, however, for those who have and are willing to spend the money on a "luxury SUV"*, it might be worth noting that the list of standard features for the base model Armada includes "skid plates"--something I haven't seen listed for this type of vehicles any time in the last several years. *To me, the terms, "luxury" and "utility" are antithetical.

So Alex, you think an SV with the safety package could sneak in under 50?
@chrgav12868 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can add features on Nissan besides small add-ons like captains chair and such. It will be by trim. If you mean Lane assist, adaptive cruise control, 360 birds view and such as Safety, you have to get Platinum.
@davids18168 жыл бұрын
+Chr Gav he said in the video he thought the SV would be the volume seller and would add the safety tech. so he implied it is available.
@chrgav12868 жыл бұрын
+David Street That would be nice if its true because I've been wanting to get one(i think platinum is overpriced) but knowing all Nissan are by trim. Cross fingers though.

I tried one. It is very nice but to be honest, it's not very big inside. The Pilot is huge by comparison. It drives nice but the body leans a lot in corners (I drove one with 18 inch wheels that might have been part of it). You also can't get front parking sensors, a panoramic roof, or a heated steering wheel in the Mazda. Overall, the Armada is a size and a half bigger and is much more capable of towing than the CX9. The Mazda is a great solution for all weather capability and 2 kids + gear.
@davids18168 жыл бұрын
I suppose you are one of those trolls who reads the last comment in a thread and then pontificates (look it up). The first comment here said that the CX9 was the best vehicle in the segment. Now back under your bridge!
