Test road the Road King Special for the 1st time. I actually quite liked it but it's not the bike for me. Someone will buy it and enjoy the heck out of it for sure!!

2 years later I bought a 19 road king special, put in a s&s 475 cam 2 weeks later and absolutely love her!!!

I rode one just like this. I'm 5' 6" and it fit me perfect. Comfort & power, you can't go wrong!!

Great review. That engine has a nice rumble with the stock pipes. I actually am considering the Road King for myself.

Traded my '13 103 softail standard for a '18 107 road king special in same colour, best bike ive ever ridden! Love everything about it. Smooth as butter over bumps, an plenty of torque. Great bikes.

Great and honest review my friend! I have this exact bike and coming from a StreetBob and a Heritage (at the same time) I couldn't be happier! Of course, the first mod was the 16" apes! Like you, I like my bars high too! Ride safe brother and Rock ON!

Good video dude. And your right about that clutch, just traded in my Street Bob for a brand new Street Glide Special today and the friction zone on the Street Glide's clutch is def different. Still love the new Street Glide Special and that 107 though! Great Bike.

I wanted the ‘19 RKS so bad, but for the money, the road glide made so much more sense. I think ideally, two bikes is best, one for long trips and one for town cruising.
@paulfosbery60267 жыл бұрын
Ta for the trip, HD! Maybe it's just me, (old school!), but being a Road King I would have expected to be looking at a ton of chrome out in front, handlebars, headlight, fork mounts, tank top, crash bars, etc, etc...I like shiny things!...LOL...! Take care HD, Ride safe!

Road king special with aftermarket quick detach batwing fairing with audio and gps. That setup is perfect for colder temps or longer rides. But you can quickly remove the fairing for warmer weather and local rides. The road king is very versatile. OR you could order the Road Glide fairing if that’s the look you’d prefer.

I have the same bike, I like it. The only mod i had to make was to replace the pipes. I installed S & S MK45. Any third party pipes are better than the stock. I have no problem with the hydraulic technology. But the clutch was too hard for my hand, painful like hell, especially when i stuck in the traffic. Now my hand is finally fine with the hardness, that's after 9000+KM. I would be very surprised if a lady rider can handle this problem. I have no problem with the wind so far, I have not ridden a bike behind a shield. I enjoy the wind. For long distance, a shield would definitely help. I recently rode this bike for 600KM in 9 hours. I was really wore out. I guess if i got a shield, i could ride much longer.

I've got the same bike in gloss black. The only extras I've put on are a Stage 1 kit and a windsplitter screen. Have to agree with you concerning the hydraulic clutch. I've only done 2000 kms and I'm still in the aching hand zone. Shame there's no adjustment possible. Anyway, another 7000 kms and I should be OK.

Great review. I always appreciate when people are reviewing to hear the good and not so good. In your case, it was extremely helpful when you spoke about the handlebars that you shared your height! That’s kind of important to know for that particular analysis. So when you buying one??? Lol.....

Wow Harley Dave, you are on point about them handlebars I have a 18 roadking and I just cant get use to the handlebars iam 6'3 any ideas on what to get in some handlebars? Thanks for any input.

I put 14" bars on mine and it is much better. Not sure what would work best for your height so you may want to ask your mechanic to measure your fitment.

I put in 75w90 lucas gear oil, it will quiet that clunky shifting sound, 20w50 is to thin in the gear box, imo..

If im not mistaken. 75W90 trans oil is the same weight as 20W50 motor oil.
