I just picked up my GSX-R1000R. The suspension, tuning, and the quick shift make a heck of a difference. I hope you get to ride one soon. It doesn't need many mods. I have to dial in the suspension, the exhaust (of course), and tank grips. Ya, a little reflash will make a world of difference. To me, the tank tank grips are important. I'm leaning on the front a little too much and a set of grips will take the pressure off and help the handling characteristics. I really like this bike. A lot. Good review. Rubber side down.

I found, because of the shape of the tank and where my legs/knees are positioned, I had to cut a 3 piece grip. I used piece of snake skin grip material. It's some pretty sticky stuff. When I put them on, the bike instantly became an amazing twisty machine.

Great explanation of its technology. I'm also a fan of the GSX-R mold - Suzuki makes great bikes.

The only thing that puts me off Suzuki bikes is the debate about how they have the most problems out of all Japanese brands. Especially electrical problems which imo is a huge pain in the ass.
@ChrisJohn_444
@ChrisJohn_444 7 жыл бұрын
NOOBRIDERR Really? I've had 2 GSXR 750s, I have a 2009 GSX-R 600 and a 2008 GSX-R 1000, and I haven't had any electrical problems. The only problem I've had was on the 600 - the spring that holds up the kickstand started to lose tension, but that had an inexpensive, easy fix.

lmao yeah I guess it's just the biased haters spewing bullshit. Still I love my R6. I love all bikes. Ride safe man, crystal method are the shit btw
@ChrisJohn_444
@ChrisJohn_444 7 жыл бұрын
NOOBRIDERR I haven't ridden one, but the R6 gets a lot of admiration. It's pretty track focussed from the factory, though, so it's not the ideal setup for streets. Then again, the supersport category isn't the absolute best for street riding. I've also tried the CBR 600RR and I didn't really like the ergonomics of it. The RSV4, though, is a pretty sweet ride even for the street...I just don't think the seat height is really practical (for many riders) for traffic/stop lights, but the ergonomics and ride quality make up for that. Same to you, btw, I hope your R6 treats you well.

Good day Adam, I especially love how you break down the specs and capabilities of these bikes. Spectacular in every way. However today I have a heavy heart after learning of the demise of the lady vlogger after being thrown off her bike while negotiating a corner at 80 mph (according to reports). I checked out one of her vloggs and incidentally a subscriber had two months prior, warned her about the same stretch of road that took her life. And that's why I'm writing this. I don't know if you already do this but I know you have at heart the same concern about the safety of your subscribers and all riders at large. I would like to see more emphasis given to the safety specs as well. Just a suggestion bro, you could maybe inform us on things like why the tyres are the way they are (the type and the safety thereof, the treads, non treads, thickness 120 front 180 back etc), rev limits, the purpose of inverted shocks vs upright shocks, the brakes! ABS & non ABS versions, you know the drill bro. This is so that above just exciting prospective buyers on the speeds and the quick shifters et al, they may also know the things that will make the difference between life and the here after. It will never be worth it if the investment in a motorcycle only leaves one with life long injuries or even absent bread winners just because of adrenaline rush. It ain't worth it. I hope I have helped in even the smallest of way. You have the platform bro. You could even bring on board staff members of these manufacturers to break down these safety features for us if you have that leverage. Just this added responsibility will be great and who knows how many lives will have been spared in this way! Oh and another thing, a lot of us could also benefit with some hands on driving skills that I know wasn't given in schools. This could be another potential grey area for a lot of new riders. Again bro, only suggestions. Thanks and stay on top!

Adam, I love your Arai helmet that you wore on the track and want to purchase the same one. Is it custom, or do I have the opportunity to buy it? If so, can you please tell me the design. Also, I really love the gear you wear on both the track and the road. Being a new rider, I don't have much gear. It would mean so much if you could go over what you're wearing so I can purchase the same or similar pieces and not buy things that I'm not going to be completely satisfied with. I know I'm asking a lot, but it would mean so much to me. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

What's up Sam? Thanks for the props on that. Tag over at Tagger Design (phone no. 951-674-8000) did a bang up job on that. He's got a talent that I could never have. Yeah man, this is a custom-painted Arai Corsair-X helmet. I checked in with him and he can paint you one like this or with different colors for around $650. You supply the helmet. His work comes out best on gloss black, but gloss white is okay too. Try to avoid a matte finish to start from. And if you need a Corsair-X, you can purchase one here: www.jakewilson.com/p/4688/57939/Arai-Corsair-X-Motorcycle-Helmet Thanks for the comment and for watching - we'll see ya on the next one.

Hi - that's a great question. Yeah, it was a tad bit more buzzy than I remember with the old bike, but certainly not bad. Maybe like 5-10% more buzzy -- so it's not a deal breaker IMOP.
@exothermal.sprocket
@exothermal.sprocket 7 жыл бұрын
Nice to know. I guess since engines are usually assembled with assembly-line parts selection, each engine doesn't get blueprinted for the most optimal and perfect crankshaft and rotating equipment balance. Whatever piston and rod and pin and bearings they select is what it gets. They are very good, but not perfect. One modification I've read about that people do with high performance upgrades is balance each piston/rod/pin +/- a gram per crankshaft journal to achieve ultimately more HP output and less stress on parts. Vibration robs power from the rear wheel.

@AdamWaheed
@AdamWaheed 7 жыл бұрын
What's up man? I would buy a S 1000 RR for general street use. Would try to buy a 2015 or newer model without the DDC suspension package, if I could find one. But if I couldn't find one or it was too expensive, that base GSX-R1000 wouldn't be a bad choice.
@theincrediblesulk5543
@theincrediblesulk5543 7 жыл бұрын
Adam Waheed thanks for the response yes I remember an old S1000R review you did where you were not fond of the DTC. Great news tho as a 2015 S1000rr is much cheaper #winning. Keep up the reviews your doing great work
@AdamWaheed
@AdamWaheed 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was the DDC specifically on the single-R. The RR's version is actually very good for street riding - the only time it doesn't work good is when you're really getting after it at the track. If there was a savings for the mechanical suspension then I'd get that, as once I find my set-up it usually stays. But if you can't find it, or it is the same price as the RR DDC, then I'd choose the DDC.

And soon the 400cc segment too if Kawasaki's latest move is any indication where the "small" displacement sport segment is going. Would be cool to see the GSX250R bumped up a bit at some point in the future, but it's a pretty solid bike for its class though.
@Jambome
@Jambome 6 жыл бұрын
Riders Domain thanks bro. But the 250 is trashed a lot for its weight that affects every other aspects of performance... What you think?
@RidersDomain
@RidersDomain 6 жыл бұрын
I think performance can be taken a few different ways. My take is that Suzuki developed the 250 to be more of an beginner machine/urban commuter than a well-balanced "performance" motorcycle in the class. In that respect, the larger fuel capacity, longer wheelbase, roomier cockpit, intuitive and easy-to-use controls, stiff-ish suspension and mellower power delivery (compared to some of its segment rivals) all make it pretty well suited for managing lower speed rides on beat-up surface streets. And that's not to say it doesn't deliver some fun in the higher revs in the twisties, in the hands of more experienced riders. I think in a comparison against other small-bore sportbikes it clearly falls short, but on it's own it serves a purpose and is a pretty well-refined package all around.

Well, I have a soft spot in my heart for the GSX-R750. It's probably my all-time favorite sportbike ever made -- even though it is pretty long in the tooth at this point. GSX-R750s are cool because they offer 600cc-like handling with a bit more mid-range and top-end, with virtually no weight penalty.

I rode a 2016 Bandit 1250. Beautiful machine and engine. Too bad they discontinued it. Hope for a future overhaul using the same engine. I rode just about everything Suzuki makes the last couple years at demo rides. Because I'm not biased like that. Adam....any chance we can see a 2018 V-Strom 1000 on this channel? I appreciate the good well-rounded knowledgeable reviews. It's nice to have a journalist who's familiar with the market needs and also the aftermarket trends in mods. Stock bikes often don't stay that way. Good indication of what's baked into the new stuff that often only takes a few dollars and a little knowledge to unlock.

Or check out Suzuki's GSX250R - ride that for six months, master it, then sell it and upgrade.
