Just got one of these a couple of months back ex demo (2018 ) model in same colour under a 1,000 miles still looked like it had just come out the factory in mint condition .I had downsized from a Bandit due to health reasons ,I find the 250 V strom very practical & has enough power for everyday riding on U.K. roads ,not missed the larger machines once .I just fitted some hand guards to help keep cold air off my hands in the winter & a Givi removable top case .Got a proper Suzuki main stand to fit to make servicing & chain maintenance & lubing a lot easier .This bike is a keeper for me ,even the factory tyres have proved to be as good as any other high end tyres I have tried in the past even in the wet. The bike is cheap to tax & insure easy to service & will go to the moon & back on a gallon of unleaded .The motorcycle press would have you believe you need 150 horse power & top speeds of 150 mph plus & loads of idiot proof tech to enjoy riding on public roads with national speed limit of 70 mph or tour the globe ,you don’t .

Thank you for vindicating me in believing this is the best first bike for me. I've looked ibto and considered everything from a TU250X through to a Scram 411 to a SV650 and Hayabusa (admittedly that last one was more a 'unicorn' / want to own, than ride as a daily ride hahaha). Never was into Adv bikes (more scramblers/Dual sports from 1970s/1980s) but this vstrom seems perfect. Good enough engine to cope with London trafic, light enough to manouver it for someone who's new to riding and only 5'7" / 70kg. Cant wait hahahaha

@@friktionrc It depends on which country you are in to have a 250cc capacity motorcycle as your first bike . In the U.K. the first bike can’t be more than 125 cc capacity ,you have to pass a higher category licence ,to be able ride a 250 cc legally . In some countries you are allowed up to a 250cc to start off learning on , if that’s the case ,then if the Suzuki DE 250 V Strom ,suits your needs ,then it can be a good choice .

@@maskedavenger2578 Thanks. And yeah am in the UK, so from what you said and what I've searched online I have to start on a 125, but (and this is what confuses me) I can do a Direct Access? and learn on a bigger machine skipping smaller bikes? Or am I miss understanding things here? Re the rest - thanks, yeah after a few years of looking at stuff, I've finally decided to take the plunge and get jy license sorted and get a bike - its just the route to go down thats confusing as it seems like folks can miss out certain stages (not necessarily jump straight onto a brand new Hayabusa lol, but start on bigger bikes) e.g.I've seen folks say they learnt to ride on sv650 and ended up buying the bike they learnt on, once passing the test.

@@friktionrc I am not sure about the latest rules regards tests ,as I passed my full motorcycle licence test many decades ago . I think you need to take a CBT on a 125 motorcycle ,before you can even ride one as a learner with “L “ plates on road . Some motorcycle shops have motorcycle training courses attached to get your CBT & you on the road . I think the next two levels of licence & whether you can pass a direct access course & test ,is now dependent on age.. I also believe they are bringing in even more new changes for learners regarding the CBT . You would be best advised to ask at your dealer or nearest motorcycle training school ,for the latest rules , test & licence information for new would be motorcycle riders . Good luck 👍

@@maskedavenger2578 Many thanks for all the info. I've got a few shops not far from me so will pop in and ask them if they have any schools or can recomend anyone as well as asking about licensing requirements. Thanks again, much appreciated

I like the long shots of the motorcycle in the beginning. No one does that anymore. It's gotten hard to get a good look at new motorcycles in videos nowadays. Cheers.

Looks way better than both 650 & 1000. I hope both of it adopt the looks of the 250 in the near future, specially the 17" front wheel as very, very few people take these things off-road. If someone wants a 19" front then buy the XT model with spoked wheels.

WitnessBe its almost 200kg (wet), its too heavy for a beginner female rider imo
@WitnessBe7 жыл бұрын
Davy Shan. It weighs more than some would want for first bike. I agree. Though it is very similar to the weight of the bikes used for very first attempt in the US Motorcycle Safety Foundation Course -- for males and females. However. Don't assume that all women riders are new to motorcycling or on their first bike. That would be a mistake. So. My point remains true. Many female riders are waiting for this. As well as the Kawasaki Versys 300. The later sells out so fast in my town it's hard to even see it, much less test ride. Point is. There are few bikes of this type with lower or low enough standover height for many women -- and females are the growing edge of the buyers in the US. It's worth considering in bringing the bike to the US. Women are capable riders. They are not on their first bike that long. So even with that caveat, it is a good next bike. Plenty of potential buyers -- still.

250 is not enough, when 800 is too much, in my opinon...for an trail bike i would say: between 350 - 500 would be the right size & power / weight

Let s see , cast wheels so I don't have to mess with tube s when I change my own tires.Suzuki using the 250 twin in a proper platform that invite s wandering.
