I finally get mine tomorrow so if there's a link with options (non TRD), I'd love to review it. I'm not getting the TRD exhaust since I don't want the car to sound like a coffee can :) The normal exhaust, even on the youtube videos, has some sound. More than my MR2 did. The Spoiler wasn't an option they had already so I had to wait a week just for it to get to the dealer...then they have to paint it. Totally unorganized, it's like they've never taken delivery of a car before lol. Now that I think about it I probably could have gotten Subaru to put the BRZ spoiler on it...looks a little better.

What do you think about the accessories, like the TRD sway bar, dual exhaust, quickshifter, lowering springs & air intake?

why dont they have a leather and sunroof option? can that be added on? would you recommend this or a 2016 Genesis coupe?
@LoyalDriven
@LoyalDriven 8 жыл бұрын
fitnessforyou1 I'm totally biased as I love the Toyota brand. That said, the Genesis Coupe is a nice car but not easy to compare with the 86 considering the Genesis Coupe boasts more power but is also a bigger car overall and can be optioned with more amenities.

I agree, the Toyota brand and reliability are much greater than most other cars, esp the Genesis. Better resale value as well.

2019 addresses these issues or go to your Subaru dealer for a brz limited.

Thanks for the candid reply. I was thinking of a similar solution, using the carbon fibre that BR-Z uses in the exact locations on the 86. If you or anyone else watching knows it that can be used, I'd love to know.

That suede interior trim a.k.a. Grand Lux ain't so grand looking. It's going to date that interior fast. The BR-Z has carbon fibre instead and is much better looking. Much more! Hopefully the 86 suede parts can be replaced with the BRZ's since they are almost identical vehicles.

I agree that the "Gran Lux" is not the most satisfying for interior trim...better than the plain plastic it replaced. If I owned one, I would have an upholstery shop make me something nicer.

Do you think Toyota will release a limited trim? Every country seems to get that except the U.S. The only other option would be the BRZ but I really like the new style of the 86 (frs).

Most likey limited trim will be converted into some special edition like scion signature series from Toyota. I've heard that we wont be getting the limited trim which I was also hoping for. Very stupid move from Toyota. They will most likely lose lots of sales to Subaru, since Subaru is more favorable.

Claire B I agree, I was going to get the new 86 until I saw that they didn't change a thing on the inside.I love Toyota at heart and always liked the styling for the old frs and now the 86 but really a bummer when dealers want the 86 for the same price as the limited brz.

The then-FRS outsold the Subaru version every year. Although I don't think it'll be a sales hit, it might help Toyota get caught up until a new version comes out.

I just test drove a manual transmission with TRD today and it is slow as hell. Steering was precise and quick but there is NOOO power past 80mph. I floored it but it had nothing more to give me. Conversely, my 2014 Toyota Highlander is just getting started at 70mph and can easily accelerate uphill to 110mph. This is 2016 and yet there's no side marker lights on the body or the side mirrors. Also no sunroof and no keyless entry (Hello, this is 2017). No telescoping steering wheel. Speedometer is very hard to read your speed. Short story, NO SALE for me.
@LoyalDriven
@LoyalDriven 7 жыл бұрын
I wish it had keyless entry...a sunroof (more like a pano roof) would be sweet but that would take those sexy rakes on the roof away. Sorta like the Camaro...if you know what I mean. If you're pushing over 80mph, sounds like you don't care much for seeing the speedometer, LOL.

LOYALTOYOTA I can see your point that some prefer the roof lines but for me, I prefer a sunroof. Different strokes for different folks.

@15FG4SI: I sat in the 370Z and the seat is way too low and I feel like I'm in a cave instead of me controlling the car. I can't comfortably rest my left arm on the door.

I've just gotten home from test driving a 2017 Camaro V6 convertible in stick with dual exhaust note option. Omg, the power is AWESOME and the ride is not harsh like the 2014 Porsche Cayman and 2016 Mazda Mx-5 club or touring.
