Road in one of these on a Safari for two weeks in Tanzania, in the Serengeti. Man, how I wished I could get one back here in the states. Not the usual set of criteria that a Landcruiser is judged against, but interesting regardless. The engine itself is capable of much more with minimal tuning, but off road vehicles are more useful with good traction and wheel articulation, as low fuel consumption as possible and low gearing. Plus it has metal where others have plastic, as a function of its legacy design. A modern classic really.
