I bought the hybrid SE model but was not informed about the advanced technology package which includes the jbl speakers and birds eye view. I kind of regret it. Is it too late to upgrade or for any trade ins? Thank you.

If I understand you correctly, when you say that you notice a difference between the gas SE vs. the hybrid SE suspension on pothole ridden roads, the gas one with the firm sport suspension, handles the potholes better, or the hyrbrid handles them better?

Gary Star hi Gary, yes, in my opinion, the Hybrid Suspension handled the potholes better because it is the same Suspension on all grades of RAV4. The gas only SE version has sport tuned Suspension coils which gives the ride a firmer feel but the rebound is tighter naturally and so it is louder and rougher than "stock" or regular suspension. Hope that clears it up, thanks for asking!

Thank you for the clear and immediate response:) I live in the province of Quebec, Canada and we have the worst roads in North America...The Rav 4 is number 1 in sales here with the CRV in 2nd place

Loyaltoyota What happened to the front lip spoiler on the 2017 SE? Why did Toyota remove it? I think it gave the 2016 SE a little bit of a sportier look...

Derrick Scott Not sure, but I actually noticed it today while driving and saw an SE RAV4 and thought of your comment here...

loyaltoyota Thanks for your response. I just leased a gas Rav4 SE and I noticed it. I've asked around & no one has been able to make heads or tails of it! Kind of a head scratcher...

Thanks for touching upon the lack of sport tuned suspension. What a shame, really the key reason to get an SE would be the driving dynamics, otherwise the CRV beats this hands down.

Anis Bear in mind CR-V is not available in Hybrid... RAV4 SE (non hybrid) would certainly deliver the driving dynamics you are speaking of. I have yet to drive the all-new Honda CR-V but I can tell you between current RAV4 and previous gen CR-V, the RAV4 is a clear winner for sure.

Does the SE Hybrid handle potholes ok? I want a power seat, but the XLE does not have. Would you recommend the SE or Limited for a more composed ride? Which has better seats... or are they the same?
@LoyalDriven7 жыл бұрын
Kay O'Pechtate I would highly recommend the Limited grade. The SE (gas only) has more aggressive coils that are stiffer for a sportier ride which unfortunately translates to a harsher ride and louder on rough roads. If you're willing to do a Hybrid, the SE Hybrid (as shown in this video) does not have the stiffer coils from gas-only SE grade. Personally, I like the hybrid synergy drive platform better and you're close to the same price point SE Hybrid vs Limited (non-Hybrid). Hope this helps.

Yes... I am ONLY interested in the hybrid RAV4 and I have not tested the SE or Limited yet... just the XLE. The dealers stock almost all XLEs. So... the SE hybrid isn't that harsh? I have an elderly mom and worry about a punishing ride, which her back cannot take. I would be happy with an XLE, but I really want a power seat and vinyl interior (for the dog).

Kay O'Pechtate Excellent, Hybrid drivetrain is my all-time fave on RAV4. And yes, the SE Hybrid has the SAME suspension as XLE and Limited grades. Bear in mind that both the SE and Limited grades come with 18-inch wheels so the ride will be slightly different from the XLE (which has 17-inch wheels). Smaller diameter wheels generally ride smoother...but most definitely check them out. Best of luck with your new ride.

Thanks! So there is absolutely no difference whatsoever between the SE hybrid and Limited hybrid suspension? same springs, shocks, control arms, etc?

is there a tax credit available for the hybrid? will there be a plugin hybrid available in the near future?
@LoyalDriven7 жыл бұрын
Shane h I think we'll see less and less tax credits for hybrids and EVs. Best advice I have is for you to check out www.fueleconomy.gov

I think the credits are doled out per manufacturer.. and obviously Toyota has used up theirs. If anyone can explain it better, please do... If Toyota is planning a "Prime" RAV4, we will just have to wait and see. They won't tell us until they want to.
