I picked up the wagon R-Line. Overall very impressed with a few exceptions. Go the 18" wheels if you can as those 19" wheels rock your body hard but are a delight on that rare smooth Sydney road. I've picked up an annoying vibration (turbo?) from inside the front drivers side dashboard, otherwise it's pretty quiet. Not impressed with either CarPlay or Android. In less than a year of ownership I have a blown pass side window winder motor and a rear cargo light never worked. Also, the drivers side rear door trim was not installed over the headliner correctly but this stuff will be corrected and fixed under warranty. Dreading dealing with VW Service as I heard mixed reviews. Overall very happy with the car. Not quite BMW or Audi but a bargain for what you get.

I had this car since Nov, test drove an A4 Audi and with similar specs it was $93,000, no contest, everything is great except the audio quality of the sound system.

Whats your take on the "Dual Clutch" ? Is it a problem like the Focus one is/was? We just got rid of a Ford Focus because it's Dual clutch was a nightmare (2 clutches in 2 years.) Our new Focus with it's torque converter transmission is fantastic! I otherwise love this Passat!

Billy Sims I own this car and I would say VW has improved a lot on their DSG. VW has take seriously all the complaint about the failure previously and biw seems no more issue in their DSG

For what it does it ticks the boxes... It's not claiming to be a sports car by any means.. and 0-60 time of 5.5secs is very good, taking into consideration the size of it... not a lot of hot hatches hit that sort of time..

I have a 2017 r-line Passat...love it...I have been experiencing shaking when braking the vehicle at anytime... Had it checked for brakes. Routers. Idle arms...it's all in good condition.... Help! What else can it be???

Sounds like a warped disk..

@@LewisRhymes What he says. You may have cooked the brakes and they have warped. Remember it's a heavy old bus to stop. Autos are always harder on the brakes than manuals as they don't have gears to help slow you down.

Omar Chakkour that's available in 7 trims in the Malaysia my country and Europe the base entry level is the Trendline, the mid range the Comfortline and the top of the range Highline is a close call between first class and of course there is a lot of optional packages like the R Line, Technology Pack, Performance Tuned and Luxury + Technology

OfficialMINIm im australiam market u may be ..iam not from there brother ... mqb platform on sedans was first introduced as a prototype in first twin turbo diesel of vw group the Passat biturbo in 2015 and phideon ..however commercially mqb passat wasnt launched in many countries ...A6 utilized it first

6spd dsg is an old implementation no ..now its 7spd dsg +

the 6 speed is used in higher performance motors because it is wet clutch and can handle more torque that the 7 speed cannot.

Super_Slav i d k about that either ... the 6spd dsg was used in old Pq 35 implementations .... still jetta,superb diesels used it , rest are driven by 7spd dsg moreover the 2016 (latest) audi a4 Tfsi uses upgaraded 7spd dsg ...atlear thats what reviwesrs said ...it has about 350mn + torque in stock tuning

The only optional extra is the paranormic roof, everything else is standard and you 206kw, I will say it worth every cents and it's interior looks better than 3 series.

It is all about perception. BMW was far cheaper than MB and nowadays it is not a surprise to find BM cost more than MB, even 7 series sometimes is cost more than world best car S Class. High price perceived to be of high quality and Passat comes with high tech and quality finishes (most of them are standard, that you would dream of, from other German trio) that you would not find in the current 3 series and C class. Check the reports on the number of problems you will find in the new car, the new Passat has far fewer problems compared to other German trio. Golf used to be cheaper, as they use more quality material it is now no longer cheap and VW is selling them in large quantities.I remember buying a C class, by the time was done with the options, it ends being more than the 30% of it base price and C class base models are not attractive at all and you even pay for splitting the rear seats into 60/40.I am saying again Passat worth each and every cents.
