When you disconnected the trans lines did it leak transmission fluid, and how did you disconnect the quick connects?

Not this one because the fluid have leaked out already when brought to the shop.

Just did the same job on my 2012 Tiguan. Had an issue, curious if you have any ideas. When I was done I checked ATF level per shop manual. Added 1 quart, still nothing coming out, added a 2nd quart and recovered over 1 1/2 quarts before it trickled to a drip. Any ideas why nothing flowed back after adding a quart but then almost the full 2 quarts came out after adding the second quart? I monitored temp via RossTech, stayed between 37 - 43C through the whole procedure.

Its really hard to check how much was inside the tranny. You did the correct way, making sure that the Tranny Fluid temp is within the specs range as you add and watch for the trickle. So many things that can be a factor, if u DIY maybe u are on a slope and causing it to not trickle. Or maybe it just need a bit more. If u follow the procedure and no odd behavior happens after the job, then i give you a big thumbs up :)

@DRBauto, do you have any video on 2017-2018 Volkswagen Tiguan to remove the transmission lines to do a complete transmission flush?

i do not have any. I dont usually flush trans fluid on these cars because most of them are lifetime fluid. I do drain and refill most of the time on newer model cars. If pan is available, i take it out catch all fluids and put same amount back in if there are no leaks occured prior. Removing lines for trans flush requires a machine to perform the service. Some quick connect trans lines on most european cars can be remove using a fuel line disconnecting tool.

Where there any screws along the bottom of the bumper, holding the base in place? You seemed to have skipped past them.

U are right, there is bolts thats is on the under cover that i totally forgot to mention. I had it removed during my inspection and nevr place it back on.

@@DRBauto Thanks for getting back to me. I am wanting to install a number plate and driving light support bracket on mine, and figure I'm going to have to remove the bumper to get at the back of it. Cheers.

Hey Julio, great video very informative. I’m working on my Tiguan have a leak in the same area. How exactly do you remove that oil cooler. Bust mostly the fitting/seal on the hose that was punctured, I haven’t seen those connectors before. And your video is almost perfect it just stopped right before the part I needed unfortunately. Sorry I think I posted the first message in the wrong area.

From there, just remove the front support infront of the cooler. Then follow the cooler lines to the other side and disconnect it. Stretch open the clip/clamp and twist and remove, this clip/clamp should be replace according to the dealer but it useable. Then remove the bolts that holds the cooler. You don't have to remove the. Fenders. I've done this job twice.

I did not remove the fender liners. I just loosen a few screws that hold the bumper cover. And also the customer wanted to see the exact location of the leak and that is why i took it off so they can better see it. For documentation purposes.
