I purchased my first car (as I had always been a leaser) in March of 2016. I was very excited and proud to put my 3 small boys (1, 3, 4 at the time) in a Volvo XC90. I had done my research and saved in earnest and had no doubt I would love this vehicle. 2 years later, I have been in to the Cranston RI Tasca dealership 7 times as I write this comment. ALL of these visits have been related to recalls and software updates and NONE have been proactive/I have had to call to report and schedule and take 3 car seats out and wait to hear my fate. Mind you I work full time and my youngest is a special needs child with many appointments I need to coordinate my schedule around. Imagine the experience of having NO ONE from the Tasca dealership or from Volvo corporate get back to you when you call to seek advice and assistance? My most recent turn? There was a "known" recall on the vehicle for a sun roof sealing issue and water was pouring into the onstar console. Also, the check engine light went on (and I assumed these might be related). I was told after I dropped the car off on Monday and was given a 4 seater sedan mind you, we expect to have the car back to you within 48 hours. Yesterday they told me more likely a week--there is a transmission line that needs to be replaced. This vehicle has less than 20K miles on it. I am exhausted at the energy I have expended to get it in and out and the experience has just been TERRIBLE. Worst purchase I have ever made and worst customer experience I could ever dreamed of. Yes--Volvo is a popular "luxury" brand and Tasca is an awarded dealership but every customer experience is what maintains your status. No one at Volvo Corporate (after several emails and phone calls) nor at the Tasca dealership seems to care about my inquiries, pleas for advice and guidance on how to stop this ongoing cycle...and I just barely miss lemon law statutes on time off the road this car has spent. That said, I will NEVER stop telling my story or working to ensure other well intentioned buyers are aware of this egregious experience.

It was between the Audi Q7 and the Volvo XC90..both cars very beautiful -ended up get the Volvo. The Volvo feels a lot more roomier. The major selling point was the built in booster seat. Great video! Our salesman was very thorough showing us all the bells and whistles on this car or so I thought, I actually ended up finding a few extras with your video. Thanks!

I just bought a used 2016 t6 momentum with 13k miles. IN LOVE with it, amazing car I have a long commute to work every day so having a car that's comfterabe is important. Smooth execleration and tight breaking. Love dynamic mode gets me home quicker. Great review!

My number one for kids is safely. I wish our incoming could be better so i could by this amazing vehicle. This is a masterpiece of car industry by volvo. Right now im driving an old mazda 1992 old. Inflation hit us hard.

Beautiful car. My friend loves Volvo and had a very small volvo sedan for many years. She ran that thing until she could not run it anymore and passed on to a family member. She got one of these Months ago and she lives it. It suits all of her needs and she has 2 kids.

Great job for amateur reviewers. One thing none of the pro and other reviewers haven’t mentioned is that the icons of touch screen can be moved around and arranged to ones’s liking and convenience. Long click on an icon makes it ‘sticky’ and movable. Have mine arranged neatly.

kateschwanke - Also hope you are using the Volvo remote App? It is cool to lock, start, stop, prewarm the car etc. also the last parked location is mapped so finding car is easy too. Need the inbuilt 4G data connection to be active.

MrWitherSkull you mean nothing comes close to the safety of this suv actually volvo in general they are a safety first company, this is a 5 star all around crash tested, trust and believe that in this vehicle the chances of you dieying (god forbid) are very very slim like 10% trust me on that, you want more proof look up here on youtube volvo xc90 crash test.

Great review. Thanks for posting. I have the 2017 S90 T6 Inscription and I'm glad you mentioned that waving your foot under the back bumper will pop and close the tailgate/trunk. Most reviewers only mention the other three ways (button on dash near steering wheel, on the key and on the trunk) and exclude that one. I love my Volvo also and hope you're still enjoying yours.

Two things I noticed compared to the 2016 model: Pilot assist works beyond 30MPH and you have two USB ports in the center console. I wish I could get an upgrade!!!

There is an actual key inside the remote key! Then, to unlock just grab the handle sensor is inside to lock the car just touch the pressure sensor on the handle with the small square. That’s why he door locked because the square was touched;)

I am waiting for my 2017 XC90 T8 Inscription to arrive from Sweden hopefully within the next month or so. So While I am waiting the dealer has lent me a T6 and I think I should have stuck with buying the T6 instead of the T8, but anyway I stumbled upon your video and it answered all of the questions I had about the XC90. the square on the handle is to lock the door. To unlock, you don't have to push the square; just grab the handle and it will unlock.

On a side note, fyi- I read somewhere that when rear facing, the back of the car seat should not be touching the back of the front seats. In case of an accident, this prevents the front seats from pushing on the car seat.

XC90 The lower body is very durable. Low arm is very thick. The lower body is mostly aluminum. It is very strong. However, q7 low arm is the same as a6. If you run off-road with q7, the lower body breaks down.

Tina Bishop The Volvo has more technology, the "iPad" interface, and is one of the safest vehicles around. And it gets 25 mpg highway.

Hi great video! Glad you are enjoying the veichle! I really like this car! But did you know that to unlock your car you don't have to put you thumb or whatever on the handle, all you have to do is put your hand behind the handle and it will unlock. The only reason you should put your finger or thumb on the square should be to lock it. Great video though you explained everything very well!

Hi! I do not have a review currently for the car seats. They are both the Diono Radian RXT seats. My 5 year old has no problems climbing in and out and both of my kids love them..as do my husband and I 😄

How's the AC for the back seats? I bought a new q5 back in 2012 and the cooling is terrible for the back, it just wasn't enough air and my kids were always sweaty. Especially my poor rear facing kiddo. For 2017, I'm definitely getting a bigger SUV (bought the q5 when we were still a family of 3!) but also one with better air circulation. Great review, glad these volvos have all the features I had in my Q, like side assist, keyless entry and start, seat and mirror memory, etc. honestly, I don't think I could ever go back to scar with out those luxury features. It's also nice that XC90 has an option for remote start with an app. Do you use that feature, and if not, why not? It gets really hot where I live and my q5 is pretty tough to get into in the middle of summer, I'd like to have remote start to air the car out and get the AC going before I load the kids.

Cheltron The cooling in the back is great! There are side vents and a center vent for the second row so the kids get plenty of airflow on a warm day :)

Hi! We actually traded this vehicle in for the Buick Enclave Avenir after two years. We LOVED the Volvo, but the car dealer was just too far away (1.5 hours). The Volvo was a great car!
