2018 2019 2020 Honda Accord error codes on the dash

Just discovered this when I disconnected my battery. I was worried when I saw every light go off. It’s not a good feeling. Then realized you have to drive for a mile then shut the car off and restart to clear the system. Hoping this helps someone before they head to the dealer like I was about to do.

Sometimes you have to drive for awhile, turn the car off and once you start again they will clear.

After watching your video, I drove it for about 4 miles, stopped and restarted the car but the same errors came up. Then I drove the last mile home, where I turned the car off. Hours later, I headed to work & the warning lights were still on. Halfway through my 25 mile, 45 minute commute, they turned off & haven't lit up since. My car's driving ability was never affected. But, thanks to YOUR advice, I'm still gonna get a battery tester, cuz I should have one anyway.

Thank you so much for posting your video/information. It helped our 2017 Accord hybrid. The battery died due to 3 months of not driving. We jump started the car and it drove fine for about 30 minutes. After parking the car for about 5 hours we start up the car and got a bunch of errors. Drove it home and the LKAS and the brake warning error lights stay on. Parked the car and did some research and found your video describing similar symptoms. Start up the car and run for about 1/2 mile and while running the errors went away. Stopped the car and turn off the ignition. Waited about 30 seconds, restarted the car and the error codes/messages are not showing up anymore. Was worrying have to take the car into the dealership ($$$). But your video save our day/$$$!!!THANK YOU!

Hi. I would definitely disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. See if that helps. If it still won’t allow you to start the car the battery might be bad. You can easily get the battery checked to see its condition

@fbhaze7446 were you able to fix the issue? I went to my Honda dealership same thing after diagnostic test they asked me to change fuel pipe!! I asked them how can lane assist or adas or Acc features can be affected with fuel pipe? I told them it has to be something electrical like fuse or wire that are responsible to check all the sensors. Just let me know if you find the fix so atleast I have more information and save myself from these dealerships who charge way too much for things that are not even necessary

I've notice all newer hondas do this crap when they lose power for whatever reason. Either errors or system is initializing message. Driving around does fix em like you said.

Another thank you! My son has a 2021 Accord, barely a year old. It had a bunch of error messages appear on the dash a few months ago. Figured it was just a bad module or similar so took it to the dealer to have it presumably repaired under warranty. Sadly, rodents had gotten under the hood and chewed through three wires, which caused all the error messages. $300 later, the dealer had repaired the wires and all was good. Fast forward to a few days ago, the same messages appeared and yes, rodents had chewed through the same wires. I'm capable of repairing severed wires, so I fixed them myself but was sad to see the error codes still there, argh. After following the procedure in this video all is good again. Thanks again!

@@eoghanjordan5233 Hi. The wires that rats seem to like on my son's Accord are on top of the engine. When you're looking at the engine from the front of the car, the wires are immediately to the right of the spark plugs. They go into a vertical connector that is on top of the engine. There are three wires: black, white with blue stripe, and green. If you're having rodent problems Honda makes an rodent-resistant tape (costs $50) but I'm going to use that after this repair. Good luck!

Also check your battery terminals. My negative terminal was barely loose and all of these things kicked on. I tightened it, drove 5 miles and the car calibrated itself. Edit: I drove 5 miles, turned the car off for 5 minutes, then when I restarted it, everything was back to normal.

I didn't disconnect my battery. But when I came outside to try and open my trunk with the keyfob it didn't work. Then I tried the trunk button in the car. Didnt work. Then I turned the car on. I also had all these codes. I had installed an aftermarket shock sensor on my car due to the rim theft spree. And think it may have caused some issue but im not sure. My issue was interior lights off, door would not lock from inside, trunk wouldnt open, windshield wiper spray stopped, no hi beams and all camers front amd back didn't have signal. So i uninstalled it and disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and reconnected and everything is fine for now. Will update after tomorrow if anything changes.

I had my spark plug changed at the dealer, and the sensors said the 1 & 4 were malfunctioning so I changed all 4. The scanner was put on to check the sensors and those appeared, all my sensors are on and won’t turn off after turning the car on and off. What else can I do?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes? That usually resets it. If they are still on there might be another issue

4 years in and I finally had to replace my battery. I drove down the street and my car started honking by itself. It scared the crap out of me. 😂

Hi.. do you think this resolves the code error issues when the car wont turn on at all? Sometimes the brake is locked so i cant even press it to push to start... other times i CAN press the brake but the car doesnt start up. The times that it does , there are lights, and the errors, and the HondaLink music plays etc.... Thoughts ?

I would definitely give it a shot for sure. Also have you tried disconnecting the battery? Sometimes that will fix a lot of these glitches. A lot of modern vehicles have similar glitches. Try those two and see if the problem persists.

Weird.. so cold up in New England just had my light all popping up after driving it off away a gas lot... first time now it seems to not appear after I shut it off... can this still be inspected and look at for free from dealer even having warranty ? Probably nothing..

Mine just did this today at 32k miles. I was so mad. The Honda dealership said I needed a new battery but Honda covers your battery up to 36k miles. That’s their warranty.

hello I have the same honda and today when I went out to turn it on it wouldnt start up quickly like it normally does after putting my foot on the break and pressing the start button it took a good minute of me pressing down super hard on the break and pressing the on button do you by any chance have any advice??
