Would love to see a video for how to access and empty the can. That's my biggest concern right now. Is it accessible via lift from underneath? So could my mechanic do it for me periodically without having to take everything apart again?

The intake pipe would have to be removed to service the catch can due to the space restrictions in the engine bay.

@@mishimoto really… We are supposed to disconnect the intake pipe, every time, every 500 miles until a baseline is established. And then, disconnect the intake pipe to establish a new baseline with condition extremes, like say 100 degree summers and sub zero mountain winters. And then we are supposed to disconnect the intake piping every time once this baseline is established, to follow a completely different maintenance schedule than anything else in the engine bay. To something that is completely hidden. Now, I’m willing to put up with a lot of things, but you could AT LEAST have provided the purchaser of this kit a sticker to place on the intake pipe to warn/show of it’s presence. May I suggest something like, “This vehicle has been fitted with an oil catch can into it’s PCV system. Do not let the can become overfilled with accumulated oil. Please service and drain at established intervals.” How much can a sticker like this cost Mishimoto? And yet, how much could a sticker like this be a godsend to the owners and mechanics of these vehicles.

Nice! Seems like a pain to empty when full. On my old Ram 1500 the catch can from y’all was easy to access.

Unfortunately space is limited in the engine bay making it difficult to find a location that would work very well

Agreed. There’s plenty of space in this bay! I have a radium in mine.

Clean set up! I’ve got 3k miles on my 2.0t wrangler and it is a quart low on oil already. I’m wondering how much is being ingested by the intake.

Intrested in buying this product from my Jeep shown in the video..wondering how do you empty it?or does it go back into the oil Pan??
@mishimoto4 жыл бұрын
To empty the can you would simply unscrew the bottom of the catch can and empty the contents.

Mishimoto Automotive Then... If its “simply...”. We all would appreciate a video showing it. Literally, that’s the ONE big holdup on me ordering this; how easy is it to empty every 500 miles until baseline, then _____ after. Please post a usability video.

Any future plans to delete the pre turbo muffler?

Not at this time. Sorry!

I hope owners of the 2.0L "catch" on early...pun intended. MFG should get a clue and include it on these turbo'd engines, or at least put it in as a premium option. It's scary how quickly bad oil sprays into the engine.
