Our 2023 camry xle hybrid started rough idle when cold at 5k miles getting 44mpg. Now at 8700 miles its down to 39.9 mpg and starting to occassional misfire. Wondering if we got a lemon, or bad gas, or if this is the new normal post event 201.

I've got a 2018 Camry Hybrid LE and twice this past summer, my hybrid has gone 1200 kilometres, almost 750 miles. Over the life of this six-year-old, the computer says it has given me an average of 4.7 litres per hundred kilometres, or 50 miles per US gallon. It has an appointment next week for its 184,000-kilometre oil change. Even the A/C still works!! Best investment I ever made!!!

Thank you so much for this amazing informative video! I’ve bought an AGM Interstate H5 (47) battery for my 2018 Camry Hybrid LE. The car is 5yr 3mo old and with 159K miles. After jumpstarting a few times the original battery in this cold New York City weather I’ve decided to get this new 12V battery. Also I’ve already bought the emergency memory saver OBD 2 Kit from Amazon which I’m planning to hook up with my Tacklife T6 jump-starter that has a cigarette lighter port outlet. Is there anything else I need remember to do? Somebody mentioned in a different article that there is a temperature sensor in the OEM battery that needs to be taken off and put with adhesive on the new battery which I’m not so clear about. Will be waiting for your response. Thank you again 🙏.

Okay, back up to 2:25. Why did you not use "driver side, passenger side" terminology while identifying the coolant reservoirs and washer fluid reservoir? You could have used inboard and outboard to identify which is which, but that might also cause confusion. Remember: automobiles have only one left side (driver's side where cars drive on the right side of the street, and passenger's side where cars drive on the left side of the street). When you are standing in front of the car and looking aft, the right-side components are still on the right side of the car, and the left side components are still on the left side of the car. Say, "to your left," or "to the right side of the car," and POINT TO THE UNIT IN question, to remove ambiguity. And please note that the various reservoirs are identified by placards or embossing if you look closely.

It’s a pity it doesn’t use its own hybrid battery for starting and not relying on a conventional 12v lead acid extra weight for no good reason.

There are a great many reasons auto manufacturers retain a 12V low voltage battery in HEV, PHEV and yes even EV cars. It's mainly because all of the electronics inside and out, the computers, lighting, etc all run on 12V as an industry standard. The high-voltage traction batteries are typically 450-650 volts and are not appropriate for powering all of the sub-systems - again for a lot of good reasons too long to list. This is the way it's done for good reasons.

hyundaai has eliminated the standalone 12v battery, uses a portion of the main hybrid battery for 12v, if it runs down you can recharge it by pressing a 12v button in the car.@@TDTVGarage

the hybrid battery actually does start the engine via powering one of the electric motors.
