The 2018 Acura NSX is just silly. However, it's in the best way. A car that feels like it's from the future with it's display,buttons, electric hybrid systems and more you can't help but appreciate it. In this review of the Acura NSX, we go over the debate between the old and new NSX and talk about it's vastly different concepts. i feel like alot of poeple dont get that with NSX it is "experimental" the new nsx is not meant to be like the old nsx like people were expecting and i feel like that is why alot of people just dont like it as such or find it very special

DaGambler that's why it's been a flop. They shouldn't have called it the Nsx. Had they called it something else and priced it a bit lower no one would be down on the car because its a great car.

Why would a rich person, who knows little about cars, spend $200k on a NSX, when they could buy a Ferrari 458 for the same price. They don't care about performance. They want the sound and the name. The NSX doesn't sound as impressive as a Ferrari v8.

Completely agree. It is unfair to compare the new NSX to the old one or to track and laptime focused cars. The goal of Honda was to build the best daily driver supercar and i think they succeeded in doing that.

youre right its a 9 speed, but the NSX on the racetrack is only using 8 gears, i think the 9th gear is just to drive at lower rpms at high speeds, to safe fuel, so its more quiet and to be more comftorble at high speeds.

No it's not... I love Honda and am far from a GT-R fanboy but the GT-R Nismo is faster. 0-60 Mph: NSX 2.7 Seconds / R35 GT-R 2.9 / GT-R Nismo 2.5 Seconds × Top Speed: NSX 191 Mph / GT-R 196 Mph / GT-R Nismo 205 Mph × Nurburgring Record: NSX 7:36 / GT-R 7:19 / GT-R Nismo 7:08... Outside of a 0.2 Second difference on 0-60 Mph the Base GT-R is faster than the NSX.

DamDisShxtBull The motors and the battery are heavy as hell. That's why the car would be much lighter (and faster) without them if you bumped the output of the engine

They do have a version without the electric motors. It's the gt3 edition but its for track use only But the one we should have got is the hsv 010. That's the one you're probably looking for

Honda has always been about form, practicality, technology, and bang for the buck without coming off too flashy while still being high performance and refined. alot of the high end exotics are all adopting the hybrid systems. reminds me of an audi r8. The r8 it something a doctor buys to not be noticed as much and a Lamborghini is something someone buys to say "give me attention!" even though they both have comparative performance.

I could be misinterpreting, but I was surprised to hear you say it lacked "soul" and that it was basically just a tool for going fast. I've heard that it's extraordinarily fun, and on paper the specs pretty much imply that it is. I could honestly stare at it forever. Unfortunately, that's likely all I'll ever be able to do with it. This is the dream car. I really don't understand why it's so underrated. It seems objectively phenomenal through and through, and imo one of the most beautiful cars on the road today.

I really really liked the nsx na2-r and I myself would own an nsx type r in a heartbeat. This…man idk…i feel like if this were to come out 5 years ago would be epic, but nowadays the mclaren 570s is better as a daily driver, the 911 turbo and the r8 are better track cars, the gtr is half as expensive, and the electric motors will do weird things on track, as tested by Hot Version(Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya and the crew) I tried to love it, I like how it looks but the interior seems way too cheap for what people are paying for, the engine sounds too lame, the car is way too heavy. And although it's not old, it feels old. I find it in the middle of nowhere, it's ok in every aspect but that isn't good enough for an nsx. For a car called an nsx, it needs to be raw, a hardcore, handling-monster, not a grand tourer and certainly not as heavy. Please Honda, strip it completely, ditch the hybrid and turn the boost up for the type r. We want charisma, not a grand tourer. It'd be fine if it wasn't called an nsx, but being an nsx it needs to be way nicer, way more special. Please.

what you want is the nsx jenson button is racing in super gt. its 1000kg, rwd, mid engined, 2L 4cyl turbo with 650hp.

dvtc8u the base car should be the same but as a road car a 2l 4cyl with 650 bhp is way too unreliable. The 3.5 V6 in the base nsx would do, just boost it up would be fine

The motor sound is my only complaint, sounds like a $30,000 car revving out..just doesn't sound like a $182,000 car..other then that I think it's awesome. Haters can hate....but it's soooo true!

@@TrickyRover The i8 was a flop so its not a favorable comparison. These cars were listing for $200k. Putting it in a fierce part of the market. It really should have been a GT-R competitor. Honestly the new Corvette C8 is everything the NSX should have been.

One of the benefits of electric motors is real torque vectoring which adds to the responsive steeringing and agility.

When i saw it in pictures i was like meh doesnt look like the NSX. Then i saw a video where it destroyed the GTR in a drag race. I was like wow okay its fast but still meh. But then i saw one in real life. In my town. Then i was like God daaaaaaammmn, that thing is so freacking gorgeous. Love it. But still the 1st gen NSX is the best. My dream car.

Slid Wheel I think it has more to do with the fact that it’s a hybrid, and there is no true manual option for the car. Like David said in the video, the car seems more like a tool or a weapon to go fast. The drivers is just not as connected to the car as they were in the previous NSX.

The NSX honestly sounds excellent at idol, it's when it's actually underway that it just sounds less than pleasant. Really wish they had thrown a 4L v8 into that thing probably would have gotten better MPG as well. lol

My F-150 is a real NSX. It has an aluminum body, a high-revving DOHC N/A Japanese V6, and its RWD.

Ya man, like everyone else I was in anticipation of what the new gen NSX would be and technology wise it's perfect. Power wise it's there but the technology actually takes away from the driving experience or that's how I felt. But ya man, your review was right on.👍

What do think of the MSRP? I like the looks of the Nsx. Not sure of the exhaust sound? From what I know only by the video review, the NSX seems to be pretty quick and handles well? I agree with the white as one of the better colors. Cheers, Tim

As an owner of the original nsx, I am sorry to say I am not a fan of this car. I tried to convince myself to like it, or to want one but I just can't. After listening to the sales manager, I dislike it even more. He tried "selling" me into the idea of it.. But I just kept longing for my original. That's when I realized it all has to do with the feeling. This car is exceptionally fast and probably worth on paper most of the money they're asking for it. I sat in it for a while and I just could not get excited.A month later I bought my first AP1 S2000. As soon as I sat down at the feeling was that of when I sat in my NSX for the first time. There was a certain GenESA qua quality to it that the new NSX just did not have. On paper it should be everything I could ever want but in reality it's nothing that I do one. Sure I could set the world on fire with the blip of a switch, but where's the fun in that?! I love how it feels to manually shift the nsx and the s2k! The nsx is smooth like silk, and the s2k is like rifle bolts. I pretty much drive for a living and when I'm on my weekend I want to feel everything a car should be. I could not be happier with my choices in automobiles, and sadly I would not give up a space in my garage for the new nsx. No hate, just honesty. Hmmmm... That being said, I wonder if I can squeeze an integra type r into a 2 car garage!? Hahah

As the owner of a nice clean 1994 Green/Tan NSX I was so excited about this car when it was first announced. The way the body looked was effin sweet. After the re-design of the body by the young lady I lost interest. That said, I will take one anyway. Send it over.

I did a project on the NSX for one of my classes when I was at UTI and that was what feels like forever ago even though it was only back in 2012...They took WAY TOO LONG to finally release this car...it's unfortunate. I feel like the time they took to release it killed all the hype and now no one really cares anymore. I get a similar feeling about the GTR35...that needs to be updated too. Don't even get me started on the next S Chassis or S2K or Supra....Manufacturers are dragging everything out far too long. I understand it takes time to make amazing cars, especially with how fast technology keeps changing, but....idk...it's frustrating being a petrolhead and being let down by manufacturers all the time (SUBARU! BRING THE JDM ENGINES TO AMERICA DANG IT!!)..but that's the end of my little rant I guess...still another great video David! I never tire watching you!

I really do hate the steering, it's too sensitive, I own a 9th gen accord and when I hit bumps my hand pulls the steering wheel everywhere. My older accord is nice and heavy.

Looks like a beefed up r8 with a body kit in my opinion. (Take the badges off) kinnda dislike the paddle shifters...hate how it's rare for manual transmissions

"Illegal"? If anything I'd say impractical. Cost to repair, bay space hog, increases drag at high speeds.

The new CRX became the CRZ. They should have called the new NSX the NSZ. Because let's face it. the NSX was and still is a pure drivers machine focused on the drive. this is like an over amped gaming pc. NOt that it is a bad car. but it's nothing like the previous NSX. That's why Nissan insists on the GTR being a GTR and not Skyline R35 GTR.

Neo VeNoM You do understand that the NSX was a Supercar right and Supercars from the 90s were Manual, Ferrari was still getting into the computer systems and the F1 Trans, the NSX was the cheap supercar of its time it was still expensive at 65k which is 120k in todays money, and its rivals today what are they ? Thats right Supercomputers, we have the 570S, 488 911 GTS and R8 which are technological marvels, the NSX has more tech in it and is a semi hybrid which is P1 and 918 tech for less. You can't compare the old NSX to the new one they are from different times. The Skyline name is still alive Nissan branched off the names to the G series now Q series. They never gave proper a reason why the marque split, but the Skyline had base models from GT GTS GTT and GTR and given that the GTR was its own car at its development it seems like they didn't want to have lower tier versions so they split it.

Honda's mistake was to call it NSX. Now it will forever be living in the shadow and expectations of the original. It will never be seen objectively as it's own seperate identity which it deserves being radically different from the original aside from being midship.
