I’m happy you guys never once said “it doesn’t look or act like the old NSX” like every other reviewer. The NSX is a victim of its own previous success because what it was meant to be was a technological experience that you could get at a price cheaper then Ferrari’s and such, yet people want it to be as it was in the 90s. Paul Doodnath yup. Toyota actually made the new Supra more capable performance wise and price wise too. I’ve driven a stock A80 and the new Supra. The new one is far better.

When I was working at Acura, I was so lucky that I sold one to a local customer in July 2017. At that time we got a test drive demo for the customer before he made the purchase. I had a chance to test drive the NSX too. One of the best feeling in my life was when I took the NSX to highway QEW, in the passing lane, all the cars in front of me just moved away for me! And when you passed by, they all looked at you and looked so surprised and cheered for you! I understand the NSX might not be the best supercar in reputation, but believe me, you feel the throat is endless like it will never stop acceleration. Now I am working for BMW but I always miss Acura.

Most reviewers have bashed the NSX... for not being some "Hypercar"... BUT the original NSX, was an evolution in the modern "Supercar", so I think this new one, follows that theme/ethos/formula just fine.

I think that is because Matt and Chris have nothing to prove to anyone, and they can speak their minds. I like how Matt puts it in his street drive of the NSX, It has the same performance of a Ferrari 488 or a McLaren 570S, but cost half as much. That was the original benchmark for pricing on the NSX, match the performance of the current generation of Ferrari, but do it reliably and about half the price. I think Honda / Acura nailed it in that aspect. I honestly don't have an issue with the 150k base price, or well optioned out the way my wife's car is, cost us $175k (they charge about $6K just for the green).

That's a rare case though. The overwhelming majority of cars with front license plate holders look like an afterthought. I've seen plenty of cars where if you removed the plate holder, you'd be stuck with two holes in the bumper.

I think I know the best word to describe this car: refined. Other supercars may be refined in some ways, but that is not their dominant characteristics. Most of them are EDGY. But the NSX....is subtle and refined

I can't comment on the performance, as I've never driven one, but I honestly think this is the most beautiful machine ever built. Every line, nook and cranny is perfect from every angle. Normally, I can't stand chrome, but this even pulls that off. So many newer cars try too hard to look unique and futuristic, but often end up looking too busy and awkward. NSX has an incredibly high tech and aggressive style, but so masterfully designed and tasteful. It's the epitomy of sexy car design and I hope it's entire design team got a significant raise. This car is so underrated. I could stare at it all day. Pretty much obsessed.

I agree. I bet the oil changes and other maintenance on this car aren't ridiculous like on a Lambo or Ferrari. So not only do you save on sticker price, you save on maintenance too. That will be ideal for me in 2025 when I can buy a used NSX for half price.

Track mode on the way to work. Quiet mode on the way home. Comfortable seats is really a plus. No need to adjust your driving stlye when driving it. Not too loud which is good 'coz you get to embarass people with loud exhaust but slow cars. Engine made by honda which is really a plus. They say toyota makes reliable cars overall but honda makes reliable engines. A reliable engine is what you need if you'd be speeding almost everyday. Euro cars? Nah. Their engines ain't reliable at all. That's why you won't see them speedin' on wangan for a long duration, they just can't keep up with the japanese cars. Wangan is a highway in Japan where people really take their cars to the limits. Kinda like the autobahn of germany.

Most reliable car brands as of 2018 (based on number of problems per 100 cars): 1) Lexus 99 (got 99 problems, but a B***H ain't one) 2) Porsche 100 3) Buick 116 4) Infinity 120 5) Kia 122 6) Chevrolet 124 6) Hyundai 124 7) BMW 127 7) Toyota 127 8) Lincoln 133 8 ) Nissan 133 9) Honda 140 10) Audi 141 The industry average is 142.... so the brands here are above the industry average. Funny thing... People always forget about Porsche, and how reliable they are... Outside of a Lexus, they are the most reliable vehicles on the road... Yes they are not for everyone, but when there are 80% of all Porsche vehicles ever made still on the road, that is really saying something. Of course from the stand point of reliability, not from the cost of ownership.

I think it's slick. Visibility is important and I dislike feeling sunken into a bucket so I like this Honda a lot already. Then throw in the many other features you went over and it's a winner. A lot of us like more wild less subdued looks, but not in an everyday driver so its nice!

Leonard R because of what you get with each car the Aston Martin is a V8 and has that v8 sound even though it has 70 less horse power along with that your buying an Aston Martin they are known for their luxurious sports/super cars so your getting nicer stuff in a cheaper car as they said in the review the infotainment is like straight out of the civic type R also why it’s a bad deal is that it kinda punches above its weight class as they said it competes with the 911 gt3 or RS depending on how you spec it and the mclaren 570 while the NSX is just a supercar from Honda but at the end they did say why it was pretty great for the price it’s fast the seats are nice for a supercar cheaper repairs because it’s built with Honda’s parts so they are reliable so in the end your the difference between the two are the flair of the brand like Aston Martin while the nsx is just an Acura but you won’t be paying a year of college tuition to replace 4 wheels (I apologize for my lack of punctuation it’s the last day of summer and I’m not ready to get into that habit again)

Carguy1999 Reviews a better overall track machine ? I would definitely think so! But is it as exciting on the road, around people, sound, interior etc as its competitors in this price range? That is what I’m not sure about. If I could only afford one supercar the competition is so tough in this segment that for me personally the NSX would not be it. It would be my 3rd or 4th choice. At the same time I’ve never even personally drove a supercar just yet so once I give them a test drive it could change my mind completely :)

Dudes, the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster right now is selling for $150-170K at my local local dealerships. I'd buy the AMG in a heartbeat over this! At $250K NSX is no longer the value-leader it used to be in it's segment. The BMW i8 is not as fast, but also much cheaper too. So overall it's a tour-de-force when it comes to what the future might look like, but the original R8 was a better NSX than this one.

It looks a lot better in person than in pictures. I do think the price is too high, but overall I really like it. I was on the fence until I saw it in person.

I love Honda/Acura. I have owned a few and they are great. I own an 01 CL Type S and ill say Acura really did itself a disservice when thry stopped offering coupes. My das only has 40k miles on his 03 Cl Type S!

Ben Vernick Hard pill to swallow if you have to pay around 200k usd for a Honda. This car will sell like hot cake if the price of the fully optioned model be like 120 to 130k figure. However, the interesting question is this; will it be a reliable car like a mundane Honda accord or civic compared to a Porsche GT3. Maybe reliability, if it can be confirmed, will sway some buyers to have the NSX over a Porsche GT3.

M Mikee agree with everything you said. Remember the attraction of the original NSX was it was both reliable AND affordable. However technology has advanced so much since then, reliability isn’t as much as a factor as it used to be. Agree that 120-130K fully loaded would be a much better selling point. Because if someone can afford 200K on a car, guessing the NSX is going to be at the bottom of anyone’s list (except maybe Jerry Seinfeld). For me personally even at 120K I’d probably go with the F-Type or even an Audi RS7. For now I’ll have to be content with my VW GTI 😀.

Well if you are talking reliability... Porsche as a whole is only bested by Lexus, and they are rated number one. Fun fact about 80% of all Porsche vehicles sold are still on the roads today... But it fall short of first in class as over the top. I truly believe once someone adds the body kit it will become world class. So what I'm saying is they should have add the body kit themselves. So what it's expensive and will be rare. It's fist car like that from Honda. The tech from NSX is already in few ordinary models. It will eventually go to most models. At least in Japan there are lots of 4WD versions hybrids from H. When the price of parts drop down, they will have the tech from this car. Imagine HRV with this tech - smaller engine of course.
