I dunno if other ppl would be interested but I would love a breakdown on that multimeter. I never can understand what switch to put it on to check something electrical. Just a thought from a viewer.

I was a Kymco ATV dealer, they are fair machines, very voltage sensitive. But that said the customers did like them and we have very few fail mechanically. Regular servicing was for sure the key to keeping them going. Obviously at the price pot in you can’t expect Honda quality, but of all the cheaper brands, it’s one of the better ones I have to say. Also parts availability was superb, and not expensive. Me and some friends tested them very hard over a few summers, and can confirm they will take a lot of bashing on. Great videos ❤

Did an engine rebuild on a 08 can am 800 v twin. Turns out that’s a cf moto engine. Bright side, parts are dirt cheap for that. Crankshaft looked like it was made on a dirt floor in India. It went together and hasn’t broke 👍

Kymco actually make pretty good engines...I've had a few with no issues...I think the 600 in the new Mud Pros are an all Arctic cat built engine

The wildcat trail and sport with the kymco 700 twin seem to be a pretty stout engine. And yes I believe you’re right, I haven’t had the chance to try out the new 600 cat engine.

That is pretty unusual, like that other guy said, dead spot on the pump, if it goes again new pump of course, might last for years though! I had a 05 AC 500 suzuki engine 5 speed, the chassis\steering was pretty heavy but the motor was great! I think 05/06 was the Suzuki 700 then 07 was the H1 and H2 in the Tcat. I hate it when a ATV maker sells a "500" and it only has 443cc, come oooooon. (Polaris 800 = 760, Tcat 1000 = 951) At least Can Am never lies! I took the diff apart on the Cat 500 after blowing it up on a jump, the diff lock was just a cable that squeezed the clutch pack, it was iffy on giving me full lock, my friends Polaris 800 though gets full lock all the time (same as my aged 94 400L) Important in deep snow. Would be cool if you get the trail cleared out to take the Alterra on a test run.

Arctic cats are so close to being the best, but they just seem to fall flat in silly areas that hold them back. I’ve owned a 2014 Wildcat 1000x and 2018 Wildcat sport 700. In their own dssigned use cases, they were AWESOME! They just had really goofy typical issues that kept them from being amazing long term. I learned my lesson on parts and resale value and I’ll never buy another one again.

Sometimes those pins can have no corrosion and not make good contact even though the plug looks fine. Seems when you took the connector apart and then put it back together it was enough to make good contact again. Just an idea. I had this problem on an ignition connector on a 97 fatboy and it was one loose pin that was messing up the game. Simply squeezed the female receiver with pliers to make a tighter connection, and it worked fine for the next 24 years.

Rock, Maybe you can help me out. I have a 2005 Suzuki King Quad 700 that looks literally brand new with 377 miles and 70 hours. I know couldn't believe it, the guy didn't use it much and kept it in a storage container. So anyway went on a nice trail ride on Sunday with some friends and after about 3 hours of no problems just riding it just stopped on its own like you cut the key off. It would crank and could here the fuel pump come on but no run, had to get pulled in on my first trip. Got it back home and got a code of c24 which says ( ignition signal ignition coil ). Put a new plug in it and still no luck. I guess it's just hard to believe with that low of hours/miles something like that is bad already. I mean 0 % mud anywhere underneath ,motor spotless, exhaust nothing burned on like a stain or nothing. Any experience on these quads?

Haven't paid much attention to Arctic Cats is the last few years. I knew the wild cat XX has a 3 cylinder Yamaha engine that's supposed to be nice. With that being said i didn't know they were outsourcing their engines like that. That made a big deal of building their own 650 H1 back in like 2005 and i figured that would be the start of supplyiy their own engines. Guess not.

Fuel pump could have a dead spot. I cannot see it being that picky at 12 volts. It is not a can am. You could try running say 11.5 volts to the pump see if it doesn’t work. I would think it would be back soon with a crank no start condition.
@rockspowersportsАй бұрын
Possibly, I’m going to try it out a bit more tomorrow. The owner only lives about 5 miles from me so it’s not a huge deal if something does come up.
