We have had the previous generation A5 Sportback in Australia for some time (not just a European release). I do drool over them every time I see one. Certainly a nice design in the flesh. Hoping this new model will continue the trend.

There was a guy in Oklahoma that has a first generation A5, really good looking car. It is a town with a military base so I don't know if he was able to get it in somehow via the military. On a side note, Jeep should really hurry up and get their pickup truck Wrangler out to the market, first I saw that orange 4 door one the other day, now I saw a white 2 door one yesterday, clearly people seem to want these.

It's not the same. We have a 2017 A4 and I ordered a 2018 A5 Sportback and I can tell you they are not the same. I've driven both and seen the differences.

DCTs, much like torque converter automatics, don't have to release boost on gear shift, meaning acceleration is greatly helped and is much smoother. With a manual gearbox, every time you depress the clutch and shift gears, you must release the boost you've built and the turbo must spool up once more.

Yes, you're missing something. This is an Audi not a simple American Buick. I personally think the Buick Sportback is very ugly and very General Motors. It's a matter of taste and that's why I ordered my 2018 A5 Sportback which is coming at the end of August.

BMW is faster, but I know the Audi 2.0L has a timing chain (When your timing belt breaks and ruins your engine, you'll only want a timing chain as well)
