I just couldn't go electric. I love the sound of a petrol engine. I understand they can get the HP, and Torque out of them now, but losing the sound, and rumble of the motor is a tough trade off. Maybe when gas is $20 a gallon I would consider. HA HA!

It doesn't take much effort for electric to *VASTLY* outperform any combustion engine. Its physics rather than engineering. So its not something that clever gasoline-o-phile engineers are ever going to get around that will make gas engines more competitive in future. Power to weight ratio of modern powerful electric motors are something like 10 to 20 times better of whatever V8 you can cobble together. Only the battery weight has ever held electric vehicle back. This is starting to be less an issue and in future even more so. In 10 years time even the lowliest of the performance electric will simply outperform the top combustion engine models on offer. Its strange to me that you would continue to choose gas engine just for a noise. Just so you can sit and go Vrrom, vroom. VROOM .... but I guess as you pull off the line and you watch the electrics pull away rapidly ahead of you it provides some sort of consolation/ distraction (?) or entertainment. Have you considered a really big speaker system? This could be made as loud as you like to appeal to your inner 5 year old instead.

That might be useful if I was looking to BUY. It is not advice to tell someone how tax incentives work. For a LEASE, the only ones that can answer the question I posted above are the dealer and/or the leasing company AKA, BMW Financial, but no one wants to give me an answer. BMW Financial is the one that receives the tax credit on a lease so it is upon them and the dealer to decide how they will use it, whether to apply it to the capitalized cost or not. So it is not advice, it is a question of what practice you follow. Yeah guess its too much to ask for you to do your job.
