Entry level luxury vehicle? The 3 series is the entry level luxury vehicle.

I think hybrids will be the future for most car enthusiasts. Nobody wants silent cars with hefty prices! Affordable hybrids will dominate in the end after the tesla fever cools down.

You are so wrong. In 5 years, when high capacity batteries become mainstream, electric cars will have 300 hp with 1000 mile range per charge all for 30.000$. Gas cars cannot compete with that.
@seanstewart2856 жыл бұрын
No. Electric is far superior, objectively, from an engineering standpoint. In ten years, a minority of cars sold as new in first world countries will be petrol based.

phixion You got it wrong. Volvo said after 2019 they will introduce NEW models only in some electric form, from mild hybrids to full Ev. Current fleet is new and will be sold for years to come in current form

Very smooth drive train with great electric battery mode providing you select EcoPro then eDrive for full battery mode. Mine lasts for around 20 miles of pure electric nowhere near 29 miles quoted by BMW literature. Very quick take off on electric for everyday driving, I love my car after 6 months of ownership. Make sure you buy the Msport kit with 19” wheels awesome appearance!

Arjang E Cause it’s the cheapest luxury sedan in their lineup. The 3 series can’t be considered that as it’s too small and not that comfortable in the back.

Had one and traded it in. I was lucky to get 12 miles off the battery..and a 4 cylinder engine in a heavy car....forget it. Turbo is hard on a 4 Cyl. Now the car looked and felt like a BMW..luxuary and leather. Beautiful lines and design. But when you put it up against a Honda Clarity plug in...40 to 60 miles on battery AND the car will recharge the battery from the 4cyl running engine. (old submarine technology) Honda hit it out of the ball park. What were BMW engineers thinking?

I bought this car new and kept it a few months. BMW technology and all they can do is put in a battery to go maybe 20 miles on flat surface with no wind. And who puts a 4 cyl turbo in a large heavy car? The interior was fantastic and very comfortable. Running electricity is a joke on this car...it should not even be considered a hybrid. I bought a Honda Clarity...50 plus miles on battery alone and if the battery runs out, you can recharge off the running engine. Why can't BMW come up with that?
@jada13273 жыл бұрын

Can't help thinking with all their complexity that hybrids are the worst of both worlds.
@pamcandas7 жыл бұрын
Hybrid drive is a technology that applies in specific cases (range, towing or cargo capacity) and of the various hybrid formats, only the "engine as mobile generator, electric motors and batteries to move the vehicle" made sense, circa 2012 or 2015, but not today. That's still how trains and ships work today -- huge electric "traction" motors and a static fossil fuel generator running at optimal rpm. Today, a vehicle of any size from a Semi to a two-seater or a motorcycle or a bicycle, from a yacht maneuvering into a dock or a container ship under sail ... there's no reason to build another fossil fuel vehicle, other than to feed profit to the manufacturers and the fossil fuel industry as they continue to destroy the planet. Insane. There's just no time left to wait another 5-10 years (years!) for BMW, VW, Mercedes and all the others to finally quit the fossil fool profit addiction.
@Not_me97916 жыл бұрын
Not exactly true... Electric cars are also responsible for a lot of emissions, some say even more than petrol cars!
