at 4mins 30seconds into the video, you open the trunk with the keyfob, but it only pops open 6 inches - then you continue to open it by hand. My 2018 x5 does this, and has been back to the garage 3 times because there is an issue somewhere in the electronics/mechanics of the trunk - it's still not fixed either. I'm pleased to see that it's not just my car that does this and even your showroom model has the same issue.

Yes this is not as uncommon as you'd think!

All you do is pull the lining away from the area of the boot where the boot hinge is (on both sides) to expose the spring. Then you simply move the spring so that it is in the rear slot rather than the front. This increases the spring tension and problem solved.

The hinges are located in the roof and there are no springs.

My dad has a X5 and you just need to hold the trunk button. I’m not sure if this guy did that in this video, it’s hard to see
