Being a Linux user I think it's cool to hear it mentioned in this video even though I know Linux has been widely used by scientists for decades.

Where are the straight line winds from microbursts strongest (highest velocity)? Closest to the point where they begin to spread from the downdraft or further away? It seems like they would accelerate horizontally across the ground at first but then lose velocity the further they get from the contact point as the energy is dissipated over a larger ground area. Thanks.

The strongest winds tend to occur shortly after the downburst impinges the ground, as the roll vortex circulation along the leading edge of the outflow is at its most intense and helps aid in accelerating the wind beneath the region of lowest pressure near the ground. For an axisymmetric (highly idealized) downburst in a quiescent environment, if you were standing directly at "ground zero" (sometimes called the stagnation point) you wouldn't feel any winds but your ears might pop from the pressure increase as the downdraft air converged towards the ground. Things get messier with sheared atmospheres and real clouds, but the gist is the same.
