considering the position he was in coming round the bend, Roaring Lion did well to win that. Be fascinating to see how the 3 year olds compare v Enable and the remaining older generation plus Masar this season

Feature race of the day and it went to the Derby placed Roaring Lion lowering down Saxon Warrior. Aidan O'Brien would eventually win a Group 1 in America by the end of the day with Athena landing the Belmont Oaks. Note that the race was due off earlier because of England's best ever World Cup performance since 1990 and every chance of emulating the 1966 team that were successful.

Not sure what Donnacha was complaining about. Didn't see any stoppage from Saxon Warrior, just think the horse is not as good as the lads thought he was.

Stan Usher he's a whining little prick used to getting his own way .I backed the winner and once and it was going away once straight
@amazed666 жыл бұрын
I think it's fairly obvious what he was complaining about considering how far off the rail Roaring Lion was at the furlong pole compared to how far off the rail he was at the winning line. Jockeys in the UK rarely take corrective action though to straighten their horse and risk losing momentum, so are happy to just let their horse drift towards another and then take their chance in the stewards room, knowing they rarely see a change of result anyway.

amazed66 u talk crap about horses.
@amazed666 жыл бұрын
+Barbara Dyson - I love the way people say things like that while not actually addressing an specifics lol. It's all there in the video so if you can't see it for yourself then maybe you need to look a little closer to home for who talks crap. Yet because I'm the helpful type, I'm happy to break it down into child size bites in order for you to understand it better and maybe have it (slowly) sink in. So let's look at what I said above and then answer did those things actually happen then, shall we? Was Roaring Lion initially racing out wide? Er, I think you will find the answer to that is YES and the clue was when the commentator said at 1:26 "Roaring Lion coming widest." Once they came off the final bend, was Roaring Lion several horses off the rail? YES. By the time they crossed the line, was Roaring Lion much closer to the rail having drifted towards Saxon Warrior and carried that horse towards the rail, therefore preventing it from racing in a straight line? YES. Did Roaring Lion's jockey have his whip in his left hand with its use causing the horse to shy away from it and drift right? YES Did Roaring Lion's jockey fail to put his whip down at any stage and put both hands on the reins to correct and straighten the drift? YES So please feel free to point out how any of that is inaccurate and is me apparently talking "crap."

RL was simply superb his burst of speed in the last 100m just amazing.As expected SW was beaten horse. In the Epson Derby Masar was a default winner,it should have been RL.

Does anyone know why cracksman did not run? I thought he held an entry and have never heard that he wasn't going to run... i am confused and worried something happened to him.
@barbaradyson69516 жыл бұрын
sassy A this may sound odd to you not knowing how much you know about horses, i have worked with horses for many many years, this is my theory on cracksman. It is possible he had a temperature which occurred on the way to the start., or a tooth problem, or even his grackell nose band not fitting correctly on that day. I am sure that we will see the old cracksman again, Besides the few things i have listed there are many other problems that could happen. shoes. feet. shoulder, back, the list is endless. I am sure john gosden will explain things when he next runs,
@elgransenor14726 жыл бұрын
He had run at Epsom and Ascot in June. If he's going to run in the KG they might have thought the Eclipse was just too many races in a short time frame.
@sassyavocado43376 жыл бұрын
Barbara Dyson I am actually fairly new to horse racing and cracksman is the first one I followed all the way through his career which is why I was worried something happened to him because that is definitely not what I want to happen to any horse. But I read 3 days ago that John said that he was doing great and I quote "is full of himself". After his second finish in Ascot I think he just might not be ready mentally yet and I hope that is about it. Shame though :(
@sassyavocado43376 жыл бұрын
Rodney BBB hmm I think that could be a reason even though John said on the 10th that it is very unlikely for Cracksman to go to the KG. He is more so favoring a late summer/autumn campaign. He said that cracksman is still not in the right state of mind which he already gave as a reason on why cracksman just ran second behind poets word in Ascot. What a shame he is such a talented horse but at least he is not injured which is the most important anyway.
@barbaradyson69516 жыл бұрын
sassy A I too love cracksman and enable. but think i am now a dinasaur. There are so many things that can go wrong with a TB or any horse, Might i suggest you go back and look at some of the past TBs who were fantastic there are so many, I got into racing through my blacksmith who not only shod my horse but also shod horses for noel murless who was the queens trainer, I am however addicted to horses as my poor husband knows.I tell people i married my husband inbetween horses. Enjoy your racing.

Lol yea physical appearance does remind u a little bit of a terrier. He’s small yet strong, keeps his head low as he runs - very compact. Then I have his greyish reflective colour and the large white patch on his head.

I wonder when we'll be seeing races with ONLY Aidan O'Briens horses in it. People wonder why he has hundreds of group 1 wins a year, or whatever, it's because he usually has about half the horses in every group 1 race. At one point, in the Epsom Derby, he LITERALLY trained 50% of the horses that were in it, and he STILL lost. (to Sea the Stars). I also wonder who's f*cking up down there at buying horses, like Frankel, is EXACTLY the type of Horse the Magniers buy... Galileo x Kind. Like ffs, 80% of their horses over the last few years have been out of Galileo and group class ares.. how the hell did they miss out on Frankel? Also, Sea the Stars for god sake... They had 3 group 1 winners out of that Mare Urban Sea. Giants Causeway, Black Sam Bellamy and Oh so Precious (or oh so beautiful i can't remember), AND Sea the Stars was a 3/4 Brother to Galileo ffs.. HOW did they miss those 2?? lol

When is Roaring Lion's trainers going to Learn the horse to run straight?
@leeguest11046 жыл бұрын
You can't train a horse to run straight you cap end. Some horses have that quirk where they run off a straight line. One of the most uneducated idiotic comments i've ever read
@nightowl74596 жыл бұрын
Lee Guest, No maybe not completely you simpleton, but you can iron out the kink that stops them running a doubt so much.
@Evocati20086 жыл бұрын
Heard the story of talented, ill fated filly Three Ring had the same "quirk" at 2, they figured out not to whip her on her side off the rail. Sometimes it's human "error", not the horse. We sometimes get it upside down. It's the trainer's first & most fundamental responsibility..... to figure them out
@leeguest11046 жыл бұрын
Simpleton ha ha ha !!! After the comment you made you do not have a leg to stand on. Now let me educated you quickly. Roaring lion drifted across the track at York...Left handed track, the at Sandown he veers over to the right....guess what... right handed track. Now then brains you tell me how to iron that one out....please i'm all ears for this one. There's no maybe about it, you can't at all.
@xWayne1991x6 жыл бұрын
The both of you are as vacuous as each other. Try to learn how to string a sentence together that makes sense and is legible before insulting one anothers intelligence. You are both wrong, it depends on the horse. Some horses are more willing to cooperate than others.

The O'Briens lost nothing in defeat, sure. They profited hugely! What's all the whining in the steward's room about??? It's the punters who've nothing! Who's whining for them!!!!!!!!! And, by the way-O'Brien family, punters happen to "feed" the sport-REMEMBER!!!!!!

Bad ride from saxon warrior's rider.should have used the whip with his right hand in the final furlong that would have stop the horse from drifting right. If Ryan Moore was on saxon warrior would have won.thats the difference between top jockeys and amateurs.
@nightowl74596 жыл бұрын
rodrego ditrianno, I doubt it, if Roaring Lion's jockey had held his whip in the other hand he wouldn't have drifted and would have won more cleanly.
