This is a very sturdy and well built mower. I thought I wouldn't like the foot operated speed control but after one use kzbin.infoUgkxTZSPVwJFBv2hORqhQamtxi-tAe5K2EtC , I can't believe I ever had one without it. It drives like a car with an automatic transmission. Easy to adjust mowing speed according to grass depth/thickness. I have yet to get used to the long throw of the blade engagement lever but kind of get why it is that way. It allows you to hold mowing for short moments if you need. The engine seems very substantial and the frame has very little flex, both adding up to an impressive package. All my previous tractors were 18 to21 hp with 42in decks. This one is 23/46. I mow about 1.5 acres about every 5 days here in Alaska and that mowing time has been reduced by about 20%, partly due to the very tight turning radius. No loop arounds lol. Hour meter, cruise control, reverse mowing capability,deck cleanout and easy assembly all add up to a very well thought out tractor.

I was disappointed that this video was taken down recently due to copyright claims. The original posting of this video was June 2018. All of a sudden it's back minus the 11,000 plus views and a multitude of posted comments. I purchased the Cub Cadet CC 30H this month and this video contributed to that decision. The copyright issue was probably the music soundtrack at the end of the video which is not included now. The first change that I would suggest is to replace the 3-in-1 blade with a high lift blade. The 3-in-1 doesn't do anything well. Finding a high lift blade is a challenge in itself. The six point spindle will also fit a 3 opening blade and a rectangular center hole. I found 29 and 7/8 to 30 and 1/16 blade lengths, all lengths fit the deck. Another option would be to use a smooth center hole and file in the star pattern. I have had mine for several months and find it extremely handy between trees and the street where my larger mower will not fit. Mine has a "Good Vibrations" Hitchin' Post" so that it will tote our yard trailer and tow behind yard tools.

I installed thr drain hose on my CC30H, only problem is that it drains very slow now. The other thing that I used was a half pipe of sheet metal found in the duct work section of my local big box store that works really well to not make a mess while draining the oil. Iv owned mine/ w bagger for 5 years now and overall like it. The chute will get clogged up if cutting longer/wet grass. I kinda have to be selective on when to cut my lawn. I have the 420CC Craftsman 4yrs now. Almost a twin except it's 6speed. When it comes to changing oil (5hrs first, 25 after) may I recommend never remove that drain plug. Way too messy even with the adapter drain. Go get a fluid extractor and pump it out through the oil fill tube. You'll be reaching the same level as the drain plug. I put mine with the right side wheels on 2x4's to give it a little tilt. Get your oil filters online and if you pay more than 10 it's your fault. It's a great motor, even if it's China. How can i disable seat safety switch?
@windsurfed17 ай бұрын
Good question. I sold this lawnmower so many years ago, but I wish I would have never sold it. Can’t remember if I was able to disable the switch. I know I wanted to, but I don’t think I ever did because it was too complicated. But I’m sure it can be done if you know an electrician.

Can you add a snowplow attachment? And can you run this in 20 degree weather?
@windsurfed13 жыл бұрын
They do not make one for that model, I suppose you could fabricate one yourself if you are ingenuous enough. If it starts in 20° weather then I suppose it will run well. A 530 weight oil probably would be best.

Did you ever install a drain tube/extension as far as I can tell the drain plug is 3/8 npt type tread? The oil drain & refill is nonsense on these units

I don’t know how much of these lawnmowers are made in the USA. But I imagine, that a lot of the parts of the mower were made overseas. I do not have the snapper anymore or the cub cadet. Because I just don’t have a big enough yard to support them. I have a postage size lawn now. I have a battery operated self-propelled lawn more. (Ego). I actually liked the cub cadet riding mower way better than the snapper because it was hydrostatic and it turned in a much sharper radius and the bagging system was Way excellent

Omar, right now my lawnmower is in storage but I can say it turns in a very tight radius. Tighter than any other lawn more of that class that I’ve had. Still, I know that doesn’t help.

I bought the same model this yr. the biggest bitch I have about this model is that in order to check the air filter and pull the dip stick you have to remove the grass Shute.m it is very inconvenient.
@windsurfed13 жыл бұрын
I had not change the oil for three seasons nor had I ever change the air filter. And it was still running just fine when I finally sold it because I no longer need a riding lawnmower. Enjoy the heck out of it while I owned it. I suppose it would have been inconvenient to do those things you mentioned. But I’m sure there are other points of the lawnmower you like. I only used mine on a flat surface. Hopefully those two inconveniences will not discourage you and you will grow to enjoy it.

@windsurfed13 жыл бұрын
I would not know. I did a review on a snapper mower I had a while back. But I thoroughly like the hydrostatic transmission over the snapper which had the standard four-speed shifting transmission. Also the cub cadet turned in a sharper circle then the snapper. Do you snapper with all metal construction and heavy so you knew it would last a long time.

You are just the guy I want to talk to. My drawing for the mowing deck shows detail 26, part number 954-05001, v-type belt, 43.5 inches long. However, that part number is for a belt that is 43.0 inches long. And my belt, the original, measures at 43.0 inches. Consequently, the force required to latch the mower belt lever, over time, causes an upper floating idler bracket failure(and also the shoulder spacer, detail 24.) Which explains the back-order status on this bracket at Cub Cadet. My machine is from 2019. I'm surprised no one has caught this.
