Well, I enjoy watching and listening to you blokes. If ever in Australia I’ll show you around some great south coast rides.

Just as a bit of balance I have the 2015 version and it's light, not very tall so easy to flat foot and very easy to ride. Stock tyres are surprisingly good in the dry and in the wet, they're even okay on dirt tracks if the mood (or poor directions) take you off road. The engine likes to rev, is full of character and even with the small fuel tank still gets 150 miles between fill ups. Front brake is good and the rear is excellent, probably the best I've had on any previous bike. I've got the standard bars but with a cross brace which makes them feel secure. Switchgear is quite cheap but works well, mirrors are good and I also like the starter button being covered by the kill switch in the off position. You do get used to it but the worst thing is the throttle, which is very twitchy at low speed, though Ducati have sorted that now and also added a gear indicator and fuel gauge to the clock. Best thing about the bike is just how much fun it is to ride.

Peter Y thank you, we try to review how a 'normal' person would ride the bikes and not how a 'normal' person thinks they ride their bikes... Yes we know its frustrating for some, ha! Ride safe

Sounds like they left a bag of spanners in the exhaust but do quite like the look. Thanks for the review & scenery

Good, honest review gents; David has a point regarding riding anything after a BMW, not that I’m biased in any way😃👍

Nice video seamless as usual 😂👍🏻 Looks like you all had the same opinion, and that exhaust pipe makes mine look incredible ps it’s a Yamaha 125 CBR. Thanks and hope you all enjoy your hols and Mark hope you didn’t over do it with the thought fullness.

Joseph Torres the local roads were awesome and if you get the chance this place run by El Jeffe and Amanda is a brilliant place to base yourself. We will definitely be back, just not on Ducati Scramblers. Ride safe.

Nice one, though perhaps it's not for you. My better half is 5'1" and after being dragged round the bike show, the only bikes she could touch the ground on safely without stilts or modified suspension are this and the Bonneville 800, so those were the choices and this won. I blame the marketing. That said, as a GS rider myself, I agree with pretty much your comments, the exhaust just looks a bit silly so we had the Termi Race pipe fitted from new with the remap which doesn't have an umbrella handle sticking out the end, the bars, despite looking upright don't give a great riding position, they are also a bit too flexible and on removal, really rather heavy, so they were changed for the 'Full Throttle' bars which are slightly lower, but a lot stiffer and feel way better. As for me, I'm 6'1 and as my wife had the standard seat sculpted out to fit her, so I have the high seat which gives an inch more legroom and feels that bit better. That said, even fixing the bars, seat and exhaust though improving some key points, still don't make it an R NineT competitor, but also consider it has a third less power and weighs and costs a third less, perhaps the new Scrambler 1100 would be a bit closer? 'twife did 2500 miles in 12 days round Europe in September on her 800 and loved it. Unless she grows a bit or the aforementioned stilts are used, I suspect she'll stick with it and won't know what she's missing!

I’m surprised there’s been no comments re the poor quality of the footage on this one it started off great at the beginning of the video and went down hill thereafter. It was out of focus and the sound quality wasn’t the best. Hope you enjoyed the get together and the craic was good, look forward to the next one

Norrie Masson hiya! This was all filmed on a phone as we had not intended to do a review and didn't have our usual kit with us, hence the lack of footage from the bike. We understand your concerns. Ride safe.

I wouldn't entertain a Ducati. Valve clearance checks every service, cam belt changes etc etc.

You're completely wrong there Pal, yes I'm qualified to say you're wrong because I own two of them. I have a '97 ST2 with 75.000 miles up, it's been in the family since new and never has it given any trouble. Servicing is around £350 every two years at an independent Ducati specialist which is a damn sight cheaper than my 2016 FJR1300AE which is around £500 a year. There's a lot of misconceptions surrounding Ducati and their reliability. Service it and it will look after you.
