Pretty sure that nut inside the 36 mm is a bleeder. If you loosened it would have allowed fuel to fill the bowl. Obviously the way you did it works. Thanks for the video.

I just paid the Chevy dealer $153.20 yesterday for this job.. I wonder what the filter will cost me next time? Maybe I’ll just do it myself… I just bought the socket for $14.00 .. thx for vid

Do not go back to the dealership save yourself some money and do it yourself. Dealerships make a lot of money off this job. It literally takes you 15 minutes to do and you can get the same GM filter the dealership uses for $21 on Amazon amzn.to/3x4EMu4 and your saving yourself $132.

Not really sure why they are charging that much to do this simple job. This is the only fuel filter, save yourself some money and do it yourself for $30.

I have a question hopefully someone here can answer, My 2018 Duramax keeps randomly going into limp mode and saying "Engine Power Reduced" and showing a dash light of a vehicle with skid marks behind it (like the traction control symbol). I can't figure out why it's doing this. But after shutting my truck off for a couple minutes it'll be back to normal operation. I do have a check engine light and a code reader that says bad #5 glow plug. But my truck made it from Killeen Texas to Louisville Kentucky and back without issue.

I had to use a actual breaker bar to get mine off, normal socket wasn't enough.
