@pickygarage5 жыл бұрын
@@dexm2010I talked to one of the presidents at ford and he informed me that it just isn't worth it to make sedans anymore due the fact that they are selling way more suv's in america probably because a SUV in 2019 gets really good gas mileage with a bigger vehicle that has a lot more space. In the future I could see ford releasing another sedan once they make more money. For now they see it as if they just focus on SUV's they will have a greater ROI.

I still love watching these videos. I was looking at and obsessed with the sho the second someone told me about it. I originally was going for the lower trim tuarus because I drove a 2015 that belonged to someone I know and at 160k miles, it felt like a bad ass with almost 300hp. That was going to be an upgrade from my 08 sable. Forward to now, I just bought the last year 2019 because I couldn't do any older when it's not coming back as of now. But every time I see another one of these talking up the car, I'm a proud owner. One of my friends is an avid denouncer of American built cars and Ford specifically. He wouldn't listen to me when I told him about all of the research I had done on top of that experience I had that really got me going. He just waits for me to have any complaints to blow it out of proportion 🤦♂️ lol. I love this SHO. Buyers remorse only lasted a solid few days. Ha Edit: also not sure about a tune because that seems to increase the possibly of trouble codes in the car and I just don't want that stress in a new car I'm paying off. But if I can find other safe ways to improve the performance, I will do it later on.

Love yr video. You have convinced me the Taraus SHO is a car to consider plus the fact u drove one 140,000 with few problems says a lot. Some things concern me. The more electronics a car has the potential for more problems exist. My mechanic can testify to that. With all the toys the car has, and there r many, it seems one might need to be a rocket scientist to operate some of the electronics. I saw an interview with J. D. Powers recently and the car he drives and has for many years is a Mercury Marauder. He talked about the simplicity of the car and lack of the overdose of electronics many modern day cars have. I tend to agree. I own a Crown Vic Sport and Marauder I love the ride and the fact they too are reliable and bullitproof and simple to operate. My Vic has over 222,000 miles and I would trust it to drive anywhere. Yes, I was one of those who cried when Ford announced they would stop production. I know the cars were dated and had not been up graded in years but they r great cars. The old saying if it aint broke don't fix it applies. It seems sales of the Taraus have been disappointing since it took over in 2012 as the replacement for the Crown Vic. I see very few here in Alabama used by the police or the civilian sector and Ford dealers I have visited have very few on their lots especially compared with the ocean of Fusions being sold. Police officers I have spoken to say that don't like the Taraus. Biggest complaint lack of room. This explains why there r so many Tahoes and Explorers being used by state troopers and police departments. Crown Vics made up over 75 percent of the police market and Ford lost it to GM when Vic production ended. Your review has made me want to reconsider and seriously look at Taraus SHO as a future car for my dailey driver. The things I mentioned earlier do concern me especially the abundance of electronics which I look at as a minus but most all cars have that now. I hate dealer service departments and my gut feeling is after the warranty expires I would be spending a great deal of time and money there since I drive my cars a very long time. Great video and review. You made some very good points for the Taraus. Thanks again. Jamey

This car has pretty much the same technology as the 2013 I owned and that car had zero electronic issues. The only issue was one day the blind sight warning on the driver side mirror went out and I turned the car off and back on..... problem fixed hahahha. The 2013 had bad head room in the back of the car for anyone 6'2" or taller. This problem was fixed in the 2018 as it now has a notch in the back seat roof to fit taller guests. The 2013 also had no issues when I traded it in I was just ready for a new one. Thanks for watching let me know if you have any questions!

Love the SHO. Actually on the top of my list after a test drive. Great performance, comfort, looks and technology. By the way. I think you mentioned 300 ft lbs in your video. It's rated at 350. During my test drive I used my phone as a timer for a couple 0-60 runs. I understand it's primitive and not totally accurate but 5.5 seconds with I'm assuming 87 octane dealership gas was pretty good. Thanks for the video. I totally agree that the SHO is an underated sleeper sedan that runs as strong as the 5.7 Hemi Charger RT while offer a lot more technology features and luxury comfort. A new SHO is getting hard to find, but my Ford dealer just got a new black 2018. With discounts and rebates, the car's MSRP dropped from $46,000 to $36,000. They also just got in a silver 2016 lease return with 38,000 miles with an asking price of $26,000. It looks new. I wish Ford would have taken the Taurus SHO serious and let the public know what this car has to offer. I'm going to grab one before they're gone.

I have a 2017 SHO and my only complaint is that although the trunk is large, the hole through the rear seats when you put them down is small. I was really surprised when I tried to get a large screen TV home from the store and it didn't fit. The trunk was wide enough to put it through, so I lowered the rear seats to pass it through and it wouldn't fit. That's kind of crazy because I have had smaller cars that could have got it home. It is a rim option you can choose whichever you prefer. Thanks for watching !
@jefffrancisco9525 жыл бұрын
Options.I bought one without the "flower wheels" to get a spare tire. The "flower wheels" are too big for the trunk, so you get a can of slime, and an air compressor. Just call AAA.

Love the Taurus SHO. Your video is pretty good but you need to cut down on the UUUMMMMSS. Didn't notice much at first, but the longer I watched the video the more I wanted to watch it again just to count how many were used. Cut those out and you have a great video....

Is There A Difference Between The Ford Taurus SHO And Ford Taurus Police Interceptor
@DouglasCisko5 жыл бұрын
There is a minor difference. The interceptor is a 3.7 305 while the SHO is a 3.5 twin turbo 365. The interceptor also has a stiffer suspension and a higher ride height in addition to larger brakes. I can attest to this as I am a civilian employee that works with the state police indirectly.

@pickygarage4 жыл бұрын
What kind of hold are you looking for? Like sport bucket seats? Is there a car comparison that you could say you like the seats in?
@mikeginsburg8884 жыл бұрын
I have a 2016 QX50 now which has a pretty comfortable seat and have recently had a bunch of Audi's that were good. On the other hand, I just test drove an MKZ where the thigh support on the standard seat was practically nil.
@pickygarage4 жыл бұрын
@@mikeginsburg888 the thigh support on the sho is very minimal its more of a comfort seat with a little hold on the thigh section. They are very comfortable but not a super sports seat. They would probably be on par with the infinity.

@pickygarage6 жыл бұрын
Yes it lane assistance is a package its called Driver assistance package. The package includes the advanced cruise control which pretty much lets the car drive itself and then the lane keeping where it keeps you in the lines. I think its 1-2k option but i would not buy another ford without it! I have it on the Fusion this car and the explorer sport! Thanks for watching!
@Flamma-theSyrian6 жыл бұрын

All of professional reviews i have seen / read complain about the cramped cabin in this car. Being 6'2" it keeps me from even considering it. Is this not true or what???
@pickygarage6 жыл бұрын
Im 6'2" and I have tons of head room in the car. A great family friend of ours is 6'6" and his son is 6'8" and they daily drive a 15 SHO as well. The cramped head room would be in the back seats of the car in the earlier model SHO. I would not sit in the back seat of the 13 SHO we had because of the head room. With the 18 model ford fixed this with a bump out in the back for more head space. Hopefully that answers your concern with head room!
