2018 Forester vs 2018 Crosstrek

Very impressive video. I bought the Crosstrek (XV Australia) as I am the sole occupant the majority of the time and prefer the more compact size around town. A major upgrade over the Lada Niva AWD I used to own.

I love the outward visibility out of most Subaru's. As I like to put it, most people look *at* their cars maybe 5 minutes per day, where they look *out of* it for an hour or more per day. (Feel free to use this as your sales pitch) Now, please push Subaru to make EyeSight(TM) available with manual transmission. Thanks!

Would love a more stripped down XTrek. No power windows. Key entry. No touch screen /Sirius, etc. Add under seat storage. At least there is a 6 speed.

I test drove both today, & am really torn. I love the more comfortable, upright drive in the Forrester, moonroof & space, too. But, the Forrester looks horribly boring, inside & out - I love their performance, but they just don't look exciting.

Mikael Borhzka 2019 one? The 2018 RAV4 looks better than the previous ones but it's still boring. Wouldn't be surprised if the new one is the same

fahsky I’m in the same boat. I’m wanting to get a used 2017-2018 Forester or 2018-2019 Crosstrek. I test drove both but can’t make up my mind.. there’s little things here and there about both of them that I like better than the other. Which one did you end up getting?

I'd decided on a Crosstrek because it offered a manual transmission. Didn't know you could get one on the Forester. Now I have to reconsider! Don't mind paying a couple thousand more for the Forester, but only with the stick shift.

Starting in 2019, Subaru discontinued the manual transmission on the Forester.

I love the excellent visibility Subaru’s have! Many cars and SUV’s made in the last 5-10 years have really poor visibility.. like looking out of portholes or something.. I don’t care if you have a back up camera or not.. I still like to be able to see what’s going on around and behind me!

We are guessing that it will, but Subaru hasn’t announced it yet one way or the other.

Only Forester (except base model). No Crosstrek comes with lumbar adjustment.

Uh, not sure what you mean...All Foresters have lumbar a lumbar adjustment except the base model. No Crosstreks have a lumbar adjustment.
