Oh dude, the Transfer post is money. I have the performance series on my bike and love it. No issues. I'd like to throw on a WolfTooth ReMote on there.

Nice overview! Always wondered why the price was different and if there was anything else that actually mattered other than the Kashima coat. Guess not :) Performance it is!

I personally think the effluvetic gold Kashima looks like ass, but it's nice that they offer it in a shade that matches the forks. Now if they could get their shit together on the shock shade. Also bike companies need to quit mismatching them. The Pivot Mach 5.5 should have all PE or all Kash. Lastly, handlebar companies need to start offering their carbon bars in stanchion colors. #rulesaccordingtome #firstworldproblems #matchydiva

I've read that the Kashima is darker on the shock because the coating is thicker.

Actually there is a difference, the Kashima Coating ist much harder, more scratch resistant and over all more resilient as well as slightly smoother. You won’t feel it at first but if you use a shock/ fork for a long time you will notice that to feel about as good as the kashima model the performance one will need more service. On dropper posts I don’t really think it would be that big a deal because they don’t need to feel plush and soft. Still they will last longer with kashima coating.

I prefer the look of the black Anodize than kashima coat, I would agree with reliability with the transfer, it hasn’t failed me yet for the past couple months of owning it. As opposed to my reverb, it failed in the first few weeks of owning it..

KS might have finally got their shit together, but after years of owning one that didn't work, (Even after multiple reservices,) it's hard to get another. I'm still seeing KS posts on demo bikes that don't work. After getting a Fox DOSS that simply works, I'm done dealing with garbage posts that cost an arm and a leg.

@nickryan3287
@nickryan3287 5 жыл бұрын
Update: figured out the ks lev issue. Your bike comes with outer housing long enough to work for the seat post being all the way out as far as it can go (if you buy a complete bike with one like I did). If you have normal sized legs and got the right size drop, it should be pretty close to all the way in your frame, in which case the lever will be rock hard and inconsistent. YOUR HOUSING LENGTH NEEDS TO BE CUT. Pull your post up in small increments and test the dropper. You'll find a spot where it works best. Cut the outer housing (and cable if you cut alot of housing off) down by the difference between your normal insertion height and the optimal one. Reinstall and you're good to go!
