What a bad ass bike. If you had told me 2 years ago my favorite bike would be a heritage, I probably would’ve cried laughing. Now I just plain want one. Very solid review buddy!

I agree with John. Never been too interested in the Heritage but your summation about it being a “mini-tourer” is spot on. Little less multi-state, ultra high distance tourer but still capable while feeling much lighter and flickable in the twisties. Being able to pull off the windshield and (locking) saddlebags is also a huge plus. Great review!!

I agree 100%, I still am working on getting my first bike for the street. And want a HD. Rode dirt bikes for years with the occasional rides on friends bikes on the road. My style has always been lightweight, no fairing/windshield, not a rolling couch basically. I rode one of these recently...I needs it!

It looks pretty gangster without a shield and bags... Especially in vivid black. I think this may be my next bike

Bought the 2018 Heritage with the 114. I love it. The colors are denim steel gray and denim black with red outlines. A very sharp looking bike and handles like a dream.

I recently bought a left over 2023 Heritage Classic I just love the bike. Incredible Torque, extremely comfortable with excellent handling. It’s my rocket that fits like a glove. Good review keep up the good work!!

Great review! One thing I never hear mentioned is this is also a great bike for the experienced rider wanting to get out of touring models, not just wanting to eventually get into. I’m 60 and although I can still handle the touring breed these softails are a very nice hybrid. Have a 05 Heritage, great bike and I have test rode the 2020 Heritage 114....... beautiful bike indeed.

You're riding my bike! I traded my 2015 Street Bob on a 114 Heritage (Twisted Cherry). The bike really didn't appeal to me, till I test rode one. Very happy with the bike, I ride it mostly stripped down and it looks great with the bars pushed forward. The torque is amazing. Can't wait to do my first long trip at the end of August. Greetings from South Africa!

I have a 2019 Heritage 114. I couldn’t be happier. My first upgrade-before I even took it home-was to install Custom Dynamics LED turn signals and taillight along with the Triple Play brake light modulator. I’m still trying to decide on the pipes. They sound good but I’d like to have more rumble at speed. You described me to a T; older guy riding 1 up and taking shorter trips. But honestly, I’d have no hesitation taking this motorcycle cross country. Great review.

Traded my Street Bob off for a 2018 Low Rider and I love it. The only thing I need to get changed fast is the bars. Harley has definitely upped the game with these new bikes.
@dustinwheelen6 жыл бұрын
EZ VP Punishers LEMC Indiana Crossroads I got an FXLR too and I changed the bars myself. With the throttle by wire, it's sort of a bitch so if you don't feel like fuckin' with the electric system, take her to the shop. Aside from that, very in love with my ride!

A friend of mine traded his Street Glide for this exact bike and is very happy. I would have gotten it too but my budget would not stretch that far. The Softail Slim fit my budget better.

Hey Justin!! I've been on a Heritage Classic since 2014. Mine is an 2003 Anniversary model and I love it. Super comfortable, responsive, torque-ee and most of all, smooth. I've ridden the 2018 but didn't get to ride it as much as you did. My test ride was hampered by other slow novice test riders, poor pot hole roadways and traffic. I was in 3rd gear most of the ride and only got it into 5th for about 10 seconds entering a highway before the traffic returned. I can tell you this though, the 2018 is waaaaaay lighter than my 2003 and has a boat load more power than my 88 Twin Cam. The Heritage is a really great bike and I could see you on one and be very very very happy with it. I've thought about upgrading, but finances don't allow a new monthly payment.... maybe in a couple of years.

Revisited some reviews after picking up my 2019. I'm so happy I did. Coming from a 2015 Fat Bob, this bike is leaps and bounds better. Your review and comments are right on. It rides straight as an arrow, holds it's line like my 09 Speed Triple requiring very little input from the bars to initiate a turn and just sticks the line. Suspension really is that much better! It comes across as hype because you hear so many people talking about it, but it really performs on the Heritage.

I bought a 2018 model and now have 24,000 miles on it. Did a 4500 mile 9 state road trip last July and had a great time. Only thing to go bad was one of the locks on the saddlebags came apart. Luckily I had a roll of Velcro to keep them closed.

One thing I never thought I needed on my fxdls is cruise control. Turns out it's one of my favorite features on the bike now.
@onemeaningsome35806 жыл бұрын
Nicely done, Bird. You've got the smooth-voiceover-announcer down well, and you go over most things people might ask. The "3 Things I Would Change" should be a rundown on each of your test rides, that would probably help pinpoint those small, few things that a vast majority would also, likely change. Keep up the great work. Only have one thought - maybe go over a few more of a bike's features or a short walkaround before riding away, for example - bags! Would have been nice to see, but I get that you're getting right into the ride -which is good.
@iancampbell61916 жыл бұрын
You can also kick off the cruise by rolling the throttle forward.... that way you don’t have to touch the brakes. Great review !!
@slyguyaction6 жыл бұрын
Yea. Easy to cancel with the clutch lever, front brake lever, rear brake pedal, throttle grip and main cruise control switch. I’ve got the same cruise control on my 2015 FLHTK and I love it.
@alanbriggs22636 жыл бұрын
I came from a BMW GS, which also had cruise control. This is one area where the Harley does it better. The roll-off to cancel cruise is so much smoother than the BMW's.

Great job on the review! I noticed something that does bug me from Harley in general! Their 20k+ bikes have the same grips and hand controls than my 2014 Sportster! I understand saving money but dang! If i was to bit a bike that coat more than my new car I would definitely like something not used on a 8-10k$ bike!

Ridiculous how a so-called touring bike costing in excess of 20 grand does not have heated grips as standard. I realise many in the US live in the southern states where it's warmer but if HD are serious about having a global market then they need to get real.
