Got my K&N drop in filter in the mail today. Did some testing and comparisons and I was very pleased.

I always do a K&N drop in to all my vehicles, better gas mileage. Just picked up an 18-1.5 accord tonight, with all the Honda’s ive owned never had an accord.

The tone of the car is a little deeper than stock filter which is awesome and the ac gets cold faster as well. I approve this filter!

@@DanVilla7 I have 2.0t Accord 2018 stock I'm very happy with power acceleration Is enough for me but I would like to put this K&N air filter just for better quality brand but I don't want to risk my engine I know is not like upgrading a stock engine to have issues on it just don't want to have problems on the future

I agree %100 that the drop in setup with the stock intake box, I did this small mod and notice the launch much more better with my new tire set upgrade. It’s a lil something but better then heat soak and spreading that extra $$ for more sound, plus the Hondata channel did a test on all aftermarket intakes with dyno results and stock intake with a drop in filter WINS 😆🤣 I’ll save my money towards a KTuner

If it's not the filter that goes down by the wheel, it will not perform like a cold air intake. Best bet is drop in factory replacement if you're not getting a cai

It has a housing that diverts the air straight to the SRI so In a way it is a CAI . But I see what you mean .

I just took my cai off of my 2012 Acura TL SH AWD and replaced it with a K&N drop in high performance filter. With the cai I had a check engine light on, a check emission light, my AWD was not working and my transmission wasn't shifting like it should. As soon as I put the K&N filter in, all of the lights went out. It's like my car recognized the difference between the two air filters and just reset itself. I have better throttle response now especially in sport mode and a much,much quicker launch. The sound is great too!! Man this K&N high performance air filter does wonders for the V-Tech when it kicks in, I guess the high performance NGK iridium spark plugs may have a little bit to do with it too. One thing for sure though, the SXT, SE and SRT Dodge Charges sure do look surprised and ashamed when we line up and I smoke them straight off the line!!! Acura really did their thing when they paired the SH AWD system with the naturally aspirated 3.7 V-Tech engine!!!

I remember having this filter with my old 1.5t, I was thinking of getting a new one for my 2.0t. Do you think if I get the PRL hose, it’ll benefit even more with the drop in?

Thanks. It's stock the more boost you push the louder it will be. When I had the open element intake system it was way louder.

$40 vs. ~$300 and better performance? Sounds like a win...Appreciate the update and honest review. Know of any BOVs that are compatible for your make/model? Not sure how those would affect the warranty/reliability of your car, but might be an option to get the sound you're looking for...

Definitely a win! People are running bov's but the car is designed to run with a diverter valve that recirculates. Im just going to have to live without the sound. I'm so much happier on how everything pairs up together now.

Ahhh gotcha! I could be wrong, but I think that’s how the WRX is set up as well...A recirculating system for efficiency I think? If that’s the case, I wouldn’t touch that either lol...End of the day, as long as you get what’s most meaningful to you (performance), that’s all that matters! Looks like a blast to drive!

@@mwaters029 wrx's are the same as well. The real kicker is that a performance intake didn't add any n performance, it actually did the opposite and lost some power. All it added was sound at the end of the day.

@@Michavelli1 just not as aggressive if you would have an actual aftermarket intake. The k&n engine filter gives you more of the performance then the sound. But you can tell the difference from the stock filter

Their testing isn’t accurate due to the K&N filter being an active filter. If you want to see a proper test look up David Vizard. He tested it back in the 80’s and has now done a video again due to Project Farms so called test

@@DanVilla7 damn nice. I’ve only tried 89 so far. Stations in Alabama don’t have 91. The jump from 87 to 93 is about 60 cents a gallon!

@@LulzChicken its about the same difference in price here in NY. If your not tuned I wouldn't bother running anything other than 87 that's recommended, you won't see a performance difference.

Something to take into consideration is you have a MAP on your car. A map will always do better with intake and exhaust. Your K&N intake probably wasn't better due to heat soak. Now, for a stock 2.0t it doesn't make a difference as I have the K&N filter on mine. I bought the K&N because it's cheaper over the long run to just clean and oil than to constantly replace the factory filter. If anyone says they can feel it on a stock 2.0t, I challenge them to put their car on a dyno because a butt/seat of pants feel doesn't mean shit! lol

My car had a jb4 on it so could be why I felt it more. When I tested the intake the car was far from heat soaked. The stock air box was tested after the aftermarket intake runs and still preformed noticeably better.

Clean as you would normally replace any paper filter roughly every 10k miles depending on how dusty and dirty the area you drive

All depends on how much debris it collects. If you live in a wooded area I would imagine it would get dirty much faster. But every 10k miles or so is a good point to ckeck it.

The K&n intake throws the maf sensor off cussing the car to run rich with these cars you need an aftermarket tune with an intake or else you’ll be losing power. Not worth getting a $400 tune just for an intake if I was doing it I would do type r turbo, rv6 catless pipe, e85 flex fuel intake and exhaust.

In cali u can't tune....only c.a.r.b. hondata tune which barely boosted anything 6psi...I only get what California allows exhaust, throttle body spacer, drop in filter or cai...that's all I can do until more carb legal parts come out
