Outstanding video. Thanks for posting. I'm on my 5th Harley, and I'm done. Done. I'm a long distance touring rider, 40k in the last 2 years. The new Yamaha was at the top of my list, but this new Wing has bumped it completely off. Can't wait to test ride one.

Some great re-engineering by Honda, but why didn't they redesign the placement of the airbox so the average owner can replace the air filter himself so it's not a 2hr job by a trained Honda mechanic?
@dangersix7 жыл бұрын
You'd have thought that would be one of the first things to redesign as a result of GoldWing owners feedback. Don't they listen to the consumer?

I understand that Honda designed a new starter generator to save weigh, the question is: how much would it cost to replace it? It's a bit wierd! if the starter fails should everything be replaced? or just part of that? Another thing that intrigues me, is the new engine, will it be easy to replace things in it? would be easier than ever to replace the air filter? or doing ligther and more compact desing will increase the level of difficulty to replace things? I never see links on the steering in a motorcycle before? what if they fail!
@thewidower17 жыл бұрын
Alex Musso the starter/generator concept is old technology for Honda. It’s what they used to use on their old CB motorcycles back in the late 60s and all through the 70s. I imagine it would be more economical to replace the entire unit than one or the other.

Im a 290lb man, this bike looks smaller to me. Ive always loved my goldwing but this doesn't appeal to me. It looks like its competing with that new BMW 1600. I guess ill stick with the last generation. I might consider an Indian Roadmaster.

Joe Blow I just looked it up. That's a nice looking bike and its got great power numbers. I had no idea yahmaha had come that far in design. Looks like Honda is about to lose alot of the market.

Harley and Honda aren't really competing for the same market. I know a number of riders who won't ride anything but Harley. They go on and on about the recent improvements Harley's made, and I say that the Japanese have been doing that for 20 years. They just shrug. ;)

To bad it didn't give any actual numbers. The old engine was heavy at 280lbs for engine and transmission without any fluids. The old engine also made 120hp at the crank and 100hp to the wheels. I want to see actual numbers

And what are the power numbers on this new engine? No HP nor TRQ data so far. Like why?
@Niehauscycle7 жыл бұрын
Our sources from Honda say there has been a 5 hp bump. The torque curve is supposed to be broader, but no indication yet if those numbers have increased. We will be getting more information from Honda on 11/6/17 and we will share that on our Facebook and website. We also plan another KZbin video that will fill in other information in the next 30 days.

thanks for sharing. too bad you could not find a way to copy without videoing a screen. please turn off the auto focus because when nothing is moving in the video, it makes things get bigger and smaller as it continuously tries to focus.

Lots of technological reasons to not buy a new motorcycle, seems to me. Cheaper, lighter, less of everything except quality, would be better for many, no radio, no fancy anything, would be what many people would want, I should think.

Aside from a marketing ploy, what does “all new” mean? Does it run on monkey farts; does it hover; self-riding; does it automatically delete Trump’s tweets? Hardly “all new” then is it?
